Cloudiness, showers and thunderstorms associate with an area of low pressure is located approximately 300 miles south east of the Dominica.  Conditions are expected to remain favourable for a tropical depression or storm to form during the next 48 hours as it moves west northwestward at 10 to 15 mph.

There is a high chance (90%) of this system becominig a tropical cyclone later today. A Hurricane Hunter aircraft will investigate the area this morning. If the system becomes a tropical cyclone today, watches or warnings will be issued for the Windward and Leeward Island on VERY SHORT NOTICE.

Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, this system is expected to generate locally heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds to the islands of the Lesser Antilles later this afternoon and tonight.

Residents in low lying areas, areas prone to flooding and landslides should monitor the progress of this system and be on the alert.  Fishermen particularly on the eastern coast of the island should secure or move their boats to a safe port as models are indicating waves of up to 12feet by this afternoon.

Sea bathers and small craft operators on the eastern coast of the island are advised to stay out of the water as sea conditions may become unsafe as the system approaches the island.

GOD SENDS HIS FORCE TO PEOPLE WHO TURN AWAY FROM HIM AND WHO ARE POLITICALLY AND OR RELIGIOUSLY DIVIDED.

I DONT CONDEMN THE ACT OF GOD AND NATURE. AS A SINNER I BLAME MYSELF AND OTHERS AND HOPE THAT WE AS A NATION TURN AWAY FROM OUR SINFUL WAYS AND UNITE AS WE DID AFTER NATURAL CATASTROHY LIKE HURRICANE DAVID , AND ALLEYNE.

LORD HEAR OUR PRAYER BUT STRAIGHTEN US IF YOU HAVE TO.

Today is a civic holiday (not a federal one)in Ontario. We call this a long weekend. Canadians love their holidays and long weekends. If only we did not have to work. It is work for some people. Stores are opened, or most of them.
Last night I attended a BBQ at a Dominican friend’s home and a few of us discussed the reported storm which may hit Dominica and also what occurred at Layou. You know when Dominicans especially those abroad get together, Dominica is always on our mind.
We are praying for Dominica and resident nationals of all.
Keep praying that the storm will by bypass Dominica or that it will not be severe.
It appears that every country has some sort of storm. Other areas have forest fires and flooding. Flooding sometimes occur after winter. It is an aftermath of winter’s snow. Many houses were destroyed. It is sad to see some people crying at their loss of property which entails their entire life savings and hard work. In some areas people have lost lives.
We have been experiencing a heat-wave in Toronto, in fact, all of Canada. Thank God the humidity has subsided for now. It was difficult to walk in that heat. It is called a scorcher which is hard to bear.
So far this summer we have had very little rain. This is unusual. One day last week it rained for a few hours with thunder and lightning. It commenced late evening to early morning. Both thunder and lightning are dangerous. When I thought they were over, we experienced one peal of thunder. It turned off the computer, TV and some lights. I was concerned that my computer and TV crashed. I have a power serge bar which must have prevented them from crashing.
The rain was not enough to water the lawns and to make the grass turn green.
The weather forecast is that we will have a dry summer (for a change) until September. Only God knows what is brewing in the earth. Then comes winter. It is stated that if we have a hot summer, we may have a bad winter. God help us. May He protect us from a disaster. Time to take a four to six month trip to Dominica during winter. Some people go to the tropics for winter.
Take heart fellow Dominicans. May God protect all of you.

Get your homes and yourselves prepared, even if it ends up not being much of a storm. And, seriously, don’t pray that the storm will hit somewhere else. That’s not a particularly nice thing to hope for, is it? There is no scientific evidence for prayers period, but you can still do it if you like; what is important is that we protect ourselves and others as best we can.

Do not shout out that this is a sign of the end of the world. Storms come every year. If an “omnipotent” being wanted to end the world, I’m pretty sure it could do better than a tropical storm and the destruction of a bridge 99% of the world has never heard of or seen. Besides, the Earth has been around for 4.6 billion years. It would take a vast asteroid to destroy it, far vaster than what killed off the dinosaurs, or passage too close to a black hole, or a nearby supernova, or thousands of atomic blasts–not some comparatively puny storm. Furthermore, the Earth itself has been through almost everything you can imagine, and here it is. Our moon itself has been hit by endless craters; any moon-persons up there would likely have believed each was the end of the world, too, if they had been so indoctrinated, but you see the moon is fine. Of course, my logic will likely be missed on them, since those who believe the world will end are not usually the most logical; but so it goes.

Storms or no storms, let us attempt to help each other and coexist, regardless of what we believe or disbelieve. It is one thing to have civilized debates. It is another to have war, and we have much too much of that as it is.
