WEATHER UPDATE: Isaac moving between Guadeloupe and Dominica

7:00 pm location of Isaac

The center of ISAAC is now making it way between Dominica and Guadeloupe.

Dominica remains on a Tropical Storm WARNING.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that Tropical Storm conditions are EXPECTED somewhere within the Warning area, in this case within 6 hours, according to the Dominica Met Office.

At 5 pm, the center of Tropical Storm ISAAC was located near Latitude 16.0 North, Longitude 61.2 West or about 50 miles north of Dominica.

ISAAC is moving toward the west near 22 mph and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and ISAAC could become a hurricane by Thursday night or Friday.

Sustained winds of 30 – 50 mph with higher gusts are likely to affect Dominica as the center of the system passes the island.

Rainfall totals of 4 – 8 inches are possible across the island with even higher amounts possible over mountainous areas. Some flash flooding is likely and residents in low lying areas are advised to take the necessary precautions.

Sea conditions are expected to be about 12 feet.

Residents are asked to continue to monitor the movement of Isaac closely.

Persons in areas prone to landslides and flash flooding should exercise extreme caution.

Residents along the coastline should also be mindful of possible high sea swells.

You must be God. It is good to be positive but with a storm/hurricane, you never know. Wait and see and hope for the best.

i wonder which one are you looking at. its people like you who are putting other less aware individuals lives at risk by taking satellite imagery from these sites that clearly state that they are for informational purposes only and that you should listen to your local met officials, and becoming weather experts. please stop.
