The center of Tropical storm Isaac is moving through the Caribbean Sea and away from Dominica, the Dominica Met Office is reporting.
However a Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the island as rainbands from that system continued to linger just east of Dominica
These bands are expected to move across the area by this afternoon into tonight as the system moves westwards.
Some periods of light to moderate rainfall, isolated thunderstorms and gusty wind are likely over the island during the next 12 to 24 hours.
Dangerous sea conditions are also expected during the next 24 hours with swells peaking near 10 feet and a small craft advisory remains in effect for rough seas.
Some flash-flooding, land slides and falling rocks are likely and residents are advised to continue to take the necessary precautions.
Meanwhile Tropical Depression Ten is located in the far Eastern Atlantic. The depression poses no threat to any land at this time.
Another westward moving tropical wave is also located near the coast of Africa with a low chance of becoming a tropical depression at this time.
Why are some dominicans upset the weather did not turn out the way we anticipated? We should be giving thanks and praise to the Almighty. We have life we can work today to make up for yesterday. Stop complaining lazy people.
I just cannot understand our people. The P.M. took a position based on the advise given to him they are upset. They should be thanking God we were spared, but they are upset. They are upset he gave the day off for their own safety. Well get to work today; double up and get d..n work done make up for the previous day. Stop complaining.
