Moisture and instability associated with a lingering Trough System has been generating periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms especially over eastern areas of Dominica.
This trough is expected to remain over the region until Monday. As a result, periods of light to moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to continue affecting central and northern portions of the island chain, including Dominica.
Over the past 72 hours, 13 inches of rainfall has been recorded at Melville Hall and 2 inches at Canefield.
With the grounds already saturated, flash flooding and landslides may occur.
Residents are therefore advised to remain vigilant and be ready for quick action if flooding and or landslides are observed.
Significant improvement in weather conditions is anticipated by late Sunday into Monday.
i hope it turns back
In all things Bless the Lord keep praying he will see you all through the storm Dominicans we need to pray more for every thing not just commenting on feather weight petty things
As the saying, “When it rains it pours.” Someone who recently returned from Dominica informed me that there was hardly any rain in Dominica. Now Dominica got too much of it.
Dominicans should have a fair knowledge of what the road could be like when it is raining. When driving in rain it is necessary to drive carefully and slowly. Even when the rain stops, the roads are wet and slippery.
When approaching a winding road and curve, drivers should also proceed cautiously; do not drive at the pace as on a normal, sunny day. Slow down!
boy oh boy if what i am reading there,father my homeland in for something i wish would not happen.
LORD HELP THIS LITTLE ISLAND;
Hope the rain stops soon, and hope there are no more casualties. Stay safe.
