We’re not seeking ‘special rights’ for homosexuals – MiriDom

miridomMinority Rights Dominica (MiriDom) is making it clear that it is not seeking ‘special rights’ for homosexuals but that they be treated equally as human beings.

“Homosexuals are not requesting special rights but merely to be respected as fellow human beings,” the group said on Friday.

On May 17, 2013 Dominica News Online published an article entitled “Group wants Catholic Church to address anti-buggery laws” in which the group called on the Catholic Church in Dominica to clarify its position on buggery laws on the island.

The article generated an avalanche of discussion as many Dominicans expressed their opinions on the matter with several insisting that the laws on the books should not change.

The group is now saying that it is not only concerned about the issue of homosexuality on the island but other aspects of Dominican culture that strip people of their rights.

“MiriDom is not just concerned about the aversion to homosexuality and homosexuals that we tend to display in Dominica,” the group said. “It is also keen to intelligently and tactfully address aspects of the Dominican social culture that strip people of their human rights.”

The group said that it is a strong believer “that we should ‘respect everyone’s right to be’ as long as it does not violate any person’s rights.”

MiriDom  said it is impressed by what it described as a “clear response” from the Bishop of Roseau, Gabriel Malzaire, to the DNO article, saying that it “shows an understanding of the difference between religious teachings and the law of the state.”

“We were most impressed with the Bishop’s statement that ‘The Catholic Church maintains that free sexual acts between adult persons must not be treated as crimes to be punished by civil authorities’ as this addresses MiriDom’s concerns,” it said. “The Bishop clarified the Catholic Church’s position on the criminalization of same sex intimacy among consenting adults by stating: ‘I wish to make it clear that the Catholic Church in Dominica adheres to the call of the Holy See ‘to condemn all forms of violence against homosexual persons as well as to urge all States to take necessary measures to put an end to all criminal penalties against them’.”

The group said “it is now clear that one of the oldest and the largest religious denominations in Dominica – and a major contributor to social and educational systems in Dominica – would support an end to criminal penalties against homosexuals.”

MiriDom says it looks forward to further fruitful discussions with the Bishop on the matter.

I think some of you guys just need to relax a bit on homosexuality. Its like your stuck in a time warp while the rest of the world continues. To be a mother or a father who would rather turn a blind eye, ignore or be in denial of their own flesh and blood being gay is very selfish. To let your child live an unhappy unsatisfying life because you are to stubborn to change and adapting is ignorant. Your Island is full of beautiful happy RELAXED people so how can you have all of this uneducated disgust. C’monnnnnn give your heads a shake. You want a tourism boost than you gotta clean up your thought process. Having a gay man or lesbian woman be comfortable being who they are and living free without worrying will not affect YOUR life and YOUR home. Who CARES who someone chooses to whine up on. lol Live in the now not the cowboy and Indian days.

God sent two male angels to Sodom and Gomorrah. When the citizens attacked the male couple, the cities were wiped out. The story is about wiping out regions that do not show hospitality, like Dominica does not show. The people who wrote the bible were polygamists and slaveowners which the bible backs. It is immoral as a book because it tells people to take neighboring countries as slaves and that slaves must obey even the cruelest masters. So should the USA take Dominica as slaves as the bible commands?

what are you tlking bout nuhr u aself???

      You are so wrong.

The Bible is among other things a book of history. It records that certain people did these things. God did not approve. He only tolerated their behavior until a day of more complete understanding came. In New Testament times these things were not part of life among the Christians.

In the Old Testament slavery existed because of certain social conditions and was allowed by God within a narrow frame of circumstances. Even then it was governed by strict laws. Slavery existed in other nations but without the laws of God to regulate it with any sense of fairness. In the New Testament it was the teaching of the Apostle Paul that led the early Christians to phase out slavery among them after they were converted to Christ.

In some parts of the world I am finding the Biblical illiteracy
appalling. Either the people have no desire to know the scriptures and understand what the Bible actually says, or the pastors are not teaching them anything.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

Too hard too Long it is a crime indeed because the Bible says so. Have you read from the Bible what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? The same and more will happen to Dominica if and when we decide to go that way. I say we because sad to say I am Dominican and whatever decision my country’s leaders take will most definitely reflect me. How sad!!!! Even now I feel like crying, screaming, and even cutting off all my hair in anguish but I choose not too I will give myself to prayer and fasting on behalf of our boys and girls that they will be a God fearing generation.

all sin is sin. we have sex before marriage, this is fornication
we have sex outside of our miarriage, this is adultry
so stop blasfaming the gay people.
i hear men all the time saying how they dont mind their girlfriend having a girl how he will get two for one or how they wont mind seeing two girls make out. society has accepted lesbianism. some of the same people that are here blasfaming the gay consider it “hot” when girls make out. some of the men tlk about gay men and in the evening they themselves go after the same gay men and leave their women at home. there are more gay men out there hiding their true colours behind of their marriages and relationships than those boldfaced ones. some even wanna play playboy and they still gay. i am not for lesbianism nor homosexualism because it is 100% wrong in the eyes of God. its just staigt up nasty! but stop jusdging others wen ur living dirty lives. give ur life to christ and be a true christian therefore u will be cleam of all sin and in the position to talk about those doing wrong. untill then, SHUT UP!!!!

I think if God sent another son to Dominica as a gay man…he too would suffer the same fate because so many there are being ignorant and misinterpreting the bible and it’s old laws….if you’re using the bible to spread hatred and not love…you’re not being a Christian….Gays, Atheists, Muslims, what ever they believe in…i can live with them in peace …

A man should not be intimidated by a gay or a lesbian. By that I mean, those people who set out to preach “fire and brimstone,” the beating and harassing of homosexuals and lesbians, in most cases are people that fear for a dormant personality that might come forth from themselves.
If you are sure about your manhood or womanhood, then you should have no fear of socializing or befriending a person with different intimate preferences than you. The very fear is a confession that if you were to socialize with a gay or lesbian you’re afraid you might become a gay or a lesbian.

    • May 9, 2014

      This is not true.

What you are saying is an abuse of words. “Homophobia”
is one of many types of phobia (fears). A phobia is an irrational or unreasonable fear of anything. Personally, I have never met a homosexual I was afraid of and I don’t know anybody who has.

To use words like homophobic, bias, discrimination, and hateful, etc. against those of us who oppose homosexuality on Biblical or scientific grounds is a form of psychological warfare. When it is used against those who in their work are trying to help homosexuals it is grossly unfair.

However, homosexuals use these tactics because they have nothing else to use. They have neither science nor the scriptures on their side. They are not able to be objective. So they talk down to those who don’t endorse their lifestyle resorting to name calling, bad language, and a total misuse of words and silly accusations like we are afraid of becoming a gay or a lesbian.

“Fire and brimstone” await all who reject Christ and die in their sins whether they are straight or gay! This is what we preach. It is addressed to everybody.

We do not endorse violence against homosexuals. In fact we totally oppose violence against anybody. The terrible acts of violence against homosexuals are not committed by Christians and have nothing to do with the church. They are committed by rogues who are often under the influence of alcohol.

In the city of Toronto a young homosexual man was in his little apartment in bed dying in the last stage of AIDS.
He had sores over his body. He was hungry and had not bathed for over a week. His “gay” friends had not been around. They left him to die alone. A minister friend of mine who knew him from the past learned of his situation and looked him up. This is exactly how he found him. My friend bathed him, fed him, dressed him and they sat and talked
      for a while.

This is not an isolated case. The minister’s name is Greg Paul. He is the director of a big inner-city street ministry that reaches out to broken suffering men and women in the streets and alley ways of the city core. It operates in and out of a big old church building now called “:The Sanctuary.”

Greg believes the same as I do about homosexuality. He loves the people but he hates the sin of homosexuality because he knows what it does to people. Nobody would say Greg is “homophobic”. He is the most authentic expressions of true Christianity I have ever met.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

Make judgments based on the bible? Okay, when I find out my wife was not a virgin on the day of my marriage, I will execute her, according to Deuteronomy 22: 13 – 21.

I also need to walk around naked because the bible forbids me from wearing clothes spun of two fabrics.

Seems the bible isn’t such a smart book, after all. Then again, it WAS written by men.

Comments like this are not written by people who have a Biblical education.

The examples Freethinker has given us from the Bible would not come from somebody who is familiar with Biblical literature. They are taken out of context and misapplied. Theses laws belonged to a bygone era and were for another people. They are not applicable to people living in this day and age. This is well known to Bible scholars who understand the reasons which are so elementary they would never be debated.

Personally, I have just completed my Ph.D. in Biblical Studies, and have lectured in three Bible Colleges.

For the past 2,000 years Christians have believed that this passage of scripture expressed the mind of God concerning same gender sexual relations.

Nations with a Christian heritage for the same length of time have opposed homosexuality because of the clear teachings of the Bible.

In the past few decades some nations have dropped their laws against homosexuality. But this has NOT been because of research or any new knowledge. It has been strictly political.

We oppose homosexuality not only because of religious reasons. It is an unhealthy lifestyle creating both physical and mental problems. Homosexuals suffer more from AIDS. They have more mental health issues including alcoholism, problems with depression, loneliness, and anger management. Studies have shown homosexuals tend to have a shorter life span.

God will forgive all sins of homosexuality. He will also heal and deliver homosexuals. There is life after this life of shame.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill

This is the Word of God. It is what we must follow.

I have no interest in what the pope or the bishops say.

Neither do I care what the psychologists or psychiatrists say.

These often seem to have problems of their own. They have no terms of reference, often contradict each other, and are prone to change. But the Word of God is forever settled in heaven. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but the Word of God abides for ever.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

The fact that they wrote the Bishop and wanted his opinion, the Catholic Church stand on what they addressed, common sense should tell us that they are up to something. They did not write for nothing or for the sake of doing so.
These people, with their leader at the top, are not friends of the Catholic Church. They are not even friends of Our Lord Jesus Christ because they are practicing something which He, as God, does not approve of. They are our, the Christian world enemies.
By their writing, they actually forced the Bishop to respond when he should not have been involved in the first place. Why did they not write Pope Francis at the Vatican? Why the Bishop of the Catholic Church in Dominica? My instinct informs me that they are up to something and this something is not a nice one. Wait, read, hear and see their next move.
Some of you do not realize the seriousness of this abomination. Children are also involved. You take these matters lightly. It is not a laughing matter that people of the same sex want recognition and marriage. Whichever way we look at it, it is evil and is obviously wrong. You do not realize that the devil is a great influence in this. Sin is caused by disobedience and is helped, if not forced by the devil.
St. Paul said, “Let your laughter turn to tears.” It will, for especially those who want this recognition, those who legislate it, who condone and applaud it. It is no joke. It is something to be taken seriously and one which no one should condone, i.e., Christians and others who may oppose it. Let your voices, be it your fingers through the keyboard, be heard.
Are you a Christian and a practicing one at that? If you are, you should denounce it and end it there. In case you are ignorant of this, governments which legislate this abomination will incur the wrath of God including those who legislated it. All may look well for now. It is only a matter of time when God will say, enough is enough and cease your abomination/immorality and offending Me, then all hell will break loose with fire and brimstones.
Such relationships can lead souls straight to Satan’s cauldron of everlasting fire. We are obligated to inform them and warn them. After we have done so, if they do not pay heed, we must be satisfied that we have done our part. God who knows, sees and hear all things will not hold us accountable. He will not punish us for standing up for the truth. The onus will be on those who do not do and say anything while this abomination escalates into something more as their recognition and marriage. It certainly does not amuse God at this time and never will in the future. They will never obtain his approval and blessing on something that offends him.

I do not believe saved men who are giving leadership to assemblies of God’s people in Dominica would alter their position one iota on any moral issue because of a decision or ruling of their government regardless of which party is in office or who the party’s head might be.

Allow me to say that our “position” is not handed down to us by the so-called “head” of the denomination sitting in a central office (although in the government of the church we do have higher ups). Our “position” was not hammered out by a committee, council, or conference. When it comes to moral issues and sexual behavior we stand on the Bible, especially the New Testament, which is God’s covenant with believers in Christ for this present age, and God’s Word to the world until the Kingdom comes when Christ will sit upon The Throne of David in Jerusalem, and lift the scepter over the nations. (It will not be long now. Read Matthew 24)!

The Word of God is not subject to Mr. Skerrit nor the Labor Party, nor to Mr. Harper, our Canadian P.M. Christians in any nation should vote for those who stand for righteousness and uphold Christian values. But regardless of what benefits they give or do not give us, regardless of what they do or do, not do, if they do not line up with he Word of God and His moral code in the New Testament, they  are wrong, wrong, wrong, and true servants of God will declare them so :!:

I can assure you that Christians in every nation – because we know the prophetical scriptures – realize bad times and persecution are coming. We are bracing ourselves for the worst just before Christ returns! But we are not for sale! Genuine local representations (congregations) of the true church of Jesus Christ in Dominica are not for sale! Living Hope Ministries is not for sale! Human governments will not be able to seal our lips. With :-P or without :( financial help and aid from any government the church will continue to tell the world  what God Almighty says about the sins of the current generation according to God’s own moral code in Romans 1:21-32, 1 Corinthians 6: 9,10, 1 Timothy 1:9-11, and Jude vs. 7.

I am so upset.there should never be a debate on homosexuality. What is wrong with us we want to be like god.ur only right as a homosexual is to die .god hates it with a passion but he still loves them so what.

    • Justice and Truth
      May 27, 2013

God loves them, that I agree with you. He is God. He cannot hate and those whom He created. What he detests/hate is sin in all its form. The worst one, aside from murder and other crimes, is homosexuality, two people of the same sex in this type of relationship. He cannot love that.
We should not be debating about it at all. We did not bring it up. They did. They are forcing it upon us. They should not expect our approval of what which is against the Law of God and the Law of Nature.
Holy Scripture teaches us, “The wages of sin is death – everlasting death”. Therefore, you face the facts. Feel sorry for those who practice it because woe to them.

      • May 9, 2014

Bless you Justice and Truth for telling it like it is :!:

It was the homosexuals themselves that made homosexuality an issue. Of course it is illegal in Dominica. . So is incest, pedophilia, polygamy, and other abominations. But homosexuals are the only ones lobbying to have the laws against them revoked.

In nations where the anti-gay laws have been revoked it was not done on scientific grounds. There was no new knowledge. It was strictly political.

It flew in the face of the clear teachings of the New Testament which the church has followed for almost 2,000 years.

It could not have come at a worst time with AIDS spreading around the world and gay men the chief carriers in some countries.

All the knowledge research has given us about homosexuality has been negative. There is not one positive fact about homosexuality to commend it.

We need to be torch bearers. Give people the truth. Share the facts. Because facts are one thing he homosexuals don’t have in their favor.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

We once as a Caribbean nation hated homosexuality with a passion.but now we are more homo friendly people.it was wrong but it has now become a right to choose and that’s ur lifestyle. Europe has laid it down on us.America has given it to us like we have no choice but to accept. God destroyed sodom and that other nation and surely he will destroy America and the others that do such.they have now taken aid from us if we don’t support and have given us aids.

The Most High God commanded believers to love one another, love is the key to life and so often we miss that central message of love in our daily existence! The church is to reinforce the message of love but more than often church leaders fail at that job too! There is homosexuality in the Holy Bible! King David’s love for Saul’s son Jonathan was a deeply romantic love and not a “brotherly platonic” love the church would have parishioners believe! In the book of Ruth, Naomi’s deeply romantic attraction for Ruth, made her pledge undying devotion till “death do they part!” Jehovah is not concerned about how we have sex, if that’s the case then We are all going to the lake of fire for lewd sexual expression! A fundamentalist view on bible scholarship is elementary and the church should just stop it! Taken down those old post colonial buggery laws! Lets LGBT people live free like straight folks!!

    • August 28, 2015

People who approve of homosexuality and advocate for gay “rights” are either not honest OR they refuse to look at the whole picture.

      Homosexuality is:

      (1) Against nature. (Romans 1:26,27)
      (2) An assault on God’s model or blueprint for marriage. (Matthew 19:4-6)
      (3) Forbidden by God in the Bible. ( 1 Corinthians 6:9,10)

But it is not for religious reasons alone we oppose homosexuality. It is an unhealthy lifestyle.

Men who have sex with other men are the main people affected with the HIV virus in Dominica where 70% of the cases are men. In the US and other nations it is homosexuals who are mainly responsible for the spread of AIDS.

Homosexuals tend to suffer more from depression. They have a higher rate of alcoholism. Studies show that homosexuals have an higher than average suicide rate. With no flesh and blood family of their own
they experience more loneliness in their senior years. They have a shorter life span than heterosexuals.

      Continued …

      • August 28, 2015

        Continuing …

Homosexuals are frequently prone to violence. More often than heterosexuals they are involved in crimes so gruesome the media will not publish the details or they will not reveal that the criminals were homosexuals for the sake of political correctness. Stats show that about 3% of the American population is homosexual. Yet this small minority have perpetrated about 68% of all serial killings in the past 20 years. A random sampling of 59 US serial killers after 1960 was collected and studied. Of these convicted murderers 39 were gay, 66%. The six worst serial killers in American history were homosexuals. Two of these were involved in cannibalism and ate parts of their victims.

Before you join the crusade for gay “rights” be honest with yourself! Get out of your comfort zone. Research the facts. This is not a lifestyle you would want for anybody you cared about.

There is a way out through faith in Jesus Christ.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill, Evangelist.

The comments on here suggests that Dominicans feel that because of people’s biology, they should be funneled into a life of oppression and stigma. I seem to believe Dominica is a country largely of African diaspora – a people who, for centuries (even today), are treated with stigma and oppression. Are they clinging to a religion imposed upon then by colonialism and slavery to oppress others? History has a long memory, and it sees patterns. Self-hate is a byproduct of slavery, and here we see the oppressed oppressing themselves to feel a bit of security in their lives. You people forget that Christianity (and other Abrahamic faiths) are the only religions to condemn homosexual behavior because it was shaped by the mentally challenged British royalty who were murdering millions of people across the globe and themselves (reference Bloody Mary and other british royalty) to control their slaves. (Reference the Inquisition, history of Christianity, etc.)

When you educate yourself, you see that what you are judging the world by, is a narrow set of values that was created to do exactly what you are doing – induce hate and control. Prior to colonialism, sexual diversity was the norm throughout the world (Reference Boy-wives and female husbands (book)). You’ll realize that the shit you’re spewing is just that. Peace.

Why the rectum? It is not far from reality that soon a one in a million minority will will be part of miridom for shoving their penis soley into the arm pits. Ma Gross Pham told me a true story of a Chinese man whose wife left him on their honeymoon night because the only place he was pushing his penis was into her navel, saying that he was making his own hole.
To the president, I say don’t you dare put silicone breast implants. You are naturally a man and a very handsome man. I know a few ladies who say they are attracted to you. If you meet them there should be an equal reaction. Two unlike poles attract and two like poles repel.
Why select the rectum over the vagina. Why defeat the purpose of the vagina? It has all the correct requirements: tightness, lubricating, ph, biological flora. That part belongs to the woman. She carries the organs of reproduction. God made woman to complement man. The rectum is a whole different ball game. It is like the land-fill and holds the solid waste until defaecation. It has parasites, vruses and a host of bacteria. Why induce hemrrhoids on another man. Why pave the way for rectal cancer. Just not healthy. Think about that.
You minority, be brave and seek counselling, phsycological help and a hormone therapist if it comes to that. Amen and a hand shake.

When people don’t contain a disease (homosexuality) properly this is what happens.

In Islamic countries, when a sodomite is caught, processed through a court, he is EXECUTED.

Now in the west that disease has permeated in the society and Dominica is wasting time rather than focusing on very crucial issue that affects us as a people.

May I suggest that you Gays remain in your closets. It was appalling listening to this Gay guy on Q95 speaking about the Gay activity in Dominica!! From his interview, he stated that there are about 100 gays in this group, and quite a few of them are married men living with their families. He also stated that these men would send him text messages requesting hook-ups(I guess paid hook-ups) with him or other gays. Excuse me!! This sounds like prostitution plain and simple. Is that what Miridom wants our Government to legalize? Homosexual prostitution?

Homosexuality is a sin. Homosexuals are doomed to spend eternity in hell. If they wanted to change, they could be healed of their evil ways. If they would turn away from temptation, they could be normal again if only they would try and try harder if it doesn’t work. These are all the things I said to my son Bobby when I found out he was gay. When he told me he was homosexual my world fell apart. I did everything I could to cure him of his sickness. Eight months ago my son jumped off a bridge and killed himself. I deeply regret my lack of knowledge about gay and lesbian people. I see that everything I was taught and told was bigotry and de-humanizing slander. If I had investigated beyond what I was told, if I had just listened to my son when he poured his heart out to me I would not be standing here today with you filled with regret. I believe that God was pleased with Bobby’s kind and loving spirit. In God’s eyes kindness and love are what it’s all about. I didn’t know that each time I echoed eternal damnation for gay people each time I referred to Bobby as sick and perverted and a danger to our children. His self esteem and sense of worth were being destroyed. And finally his spirit broke beyond repair. It was not God’s will that Bobby climbed over the side of a freeway overpass and jumped directly into the path of an eighteen-wheel truck which killed him instantly. Bobby’s death was the direct result of his parent’s ignorance and fear of the word gay. He wanted to be a writer. His hopes and dreams should not have been taken from him but they were. There are children, like Bobby, sitting in your congregations. Unknown to you they will be listening as you echo “amen” and that will soon silence their prayers. Their prayers to God for understanding and acceptance and for your love but your hatred and fear and ignorance of the word gay, will silence those prayers. So, before you echo “amen” in your home and place of worship. Think. Think and remember a child is listening.

Based on the constitution, every individual is equal under the law.
Based on the above, a gay person has the right to enjoy the same rights and freedom enjoyed by any other citizen.
Denying someone of their human and constitutional rights is discrimination.
Dominicans need to respect and tolerate each other!!!
Civism needs to be practiced…we have tolorated the breakdown in civism towards each other for too long.

WHY…..why all these countries are so cursed…..cursed in the name of human rights? take for instance the USA…..they got some rights ya…but aren’t they getting their pay back? and believe me it is not from God…..go ahead take the wrong rights that was given to the big Countries to our little PARADISE…see how far it will take us…and what we will benefit…more crimes, more hate….what will become of our next generation? our children’s children…..confusion…I am not for or against GAYS, but they should not have the same right as my husband and I…to walk hand in hand…they should remain in the DARK…..and not allow their dark clouds to STEAL our sunshine…DEVIL TAKE YOUR WEAPONS AND GO…

In all my years living in Dominica, we have had persons of high and low repute who were homosexuals…they went to church, were active participants in our social, cultural and religious activities. Never was it known that these persons were discriminated against( beside the usual Dcan snigger, u know how we do). I am trying to understand how this has suddenly become a huge issue. We know the homos in our midst and we love them the same…who are we to judge! Everyman will answer to his own name when the time comes…

Every day Dominicans shop in supermarkets and stores owned by gays, they go to church ministered by gay pastors and priests, they send their children to schools with gay teachers, they sit down and talk to gay husbands and wives, and profess love for their gay children, they consult with gay lawyers and watch cultural events managed by gay icons, they read history written by gay historians. And then they clamour and fight to get green cards to send their children to places where gays are tolerated and can live more free of fear of being hated.

All of this fake nonsense you all post here is just that. FAKE. The gays may be getting too attention greedy but in any population 1 in 25 people are gay. What you going to do ? Hate them ?

Why dont you go live in Zimbabwe or in other countries where gays are not tolerated. You wont. Because countries where tolerance is preached are the best countries to live in.

You all want to be Taliban but you all want to live in the US and UK and Canada, all places where gays prosper.

And yet you still pretend there are no gays in Dominica and its something that just arrived recently. Instead of being obssessed with what these people are doing sexually, consider what they have been doing in their daily lives, working and contributing. LIKE EVERY OTHER NORMAL PERSON.

I swear you all are the sickest set of hypocrites ever to walk this earth.

And that is why a post on incest, or sexual abuse or spousal beatings or women making BOM etc will get little or no posts but mention gays and you all jump up and down as if lightning hit allyuh bodah.

Way papa those gay people not easy eh. I find they take time next they will be asking for them to get married. The asking have just started just wait and see but whether we like it or not they are going to get all what they ask for.

For those of you who compare sex between a man and a woman to sex between two men let me say to you that you guys are so wrong. Its very natural to be attracted to the opposite sex. Sex is meant to be between a man and a woman.

When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah he didn’t do it because of adultery and fornication he did it because of homosexuality, so please tell me how this act can be compared to a man and woman having sex. its not the same and it will never be the same no matter how much you try to justify it.

Like someone said earlier Lot offered his virgin daughters to the men to have sex with just so they don’t have sex with men they said NO we want the male angels instead. The bible went on to say that the city was smelling of sin and God could not take it any longer so he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

Tell me people how on Gods earth can this be right its wrong wrong wrong. God watch over Dominica!

Excellent comment. We have reasons to be concerned because if God destroys the world on account of their abomination, now or soon or later and we are alive, it will most certainly affect us. There will be immense suffering and death.
God is a God of many chances. He is allowing us to warn them. He is giving them a chance and time to change. If they do not, sooner or later it certainly will occur.

But they are the ones that are speaking out

    • May 9, 2014

“Gay” includes both men and women who are homosexuals.
The word “homosexual” means a person who is sexually attracted to one of the same gender. It could be a male or female.

The Bible condemns both in Romans 1:26-27.

However, people have a tendency to use the word “gay” in a limited sense for men when they say “gays and lesbians”. This is because they don’t have one single word for male homosexuals as they do with women homosexuals namely the word “lesbians”.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill International Evangelist,

    • August 30, 2015

Of course there are both male and female homosexuals. In our English language female homosexuals are often called lesbians.

The Bible forbids men to have sex with men. It also forbids women to have sex with women. Both practices are ”against nature” according to Romans 1:26,27.

Either way it is a vile and degrading practice. The Bible says ”…they which commit such things are worthy of death, …” (Romans 1:32)

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

God who made the human body said it is AGAINST NATURE,IT IS LEAVING THE NATURAL USE OF THE WOMAN in order words this act is unnatural for a man to have sexual intercourse with an other man.Remember I did not say so.It is thus saith the Lord, Romans 1:26-28.The word of God said this practice is shameful,it is an error and also vile affection.
I don’t want to be graphic, but see a man’s sexual organ, can it fit with another man.According to Johnnie Cochran in O.J Simpson’s case
“If it does not fit, you must acquit.”

An other point, yes sin is sin. Fornication adultery etc etc but they do not carry the same weight, 4 example if you littered the streets in Roseau you are not charged $10,000 or 20 yrs in prison, but if you are found guilty of murder you know your fate.Friends do u know that God turned some cities into ashes because of what this so-called group is promoting in Da?

If a man have sex with his little billy goat. Can he say it troubles no one,It is done in my own house, this is no body’s business.I hope you know where I am coming from.

The bishop or Catholic church does not speak for God nor represents God

    • Justice and Truth
      May 27, 2013

So you have misinterpreted what the Bishop stated? He did not comment on your behalf or others who are not of the faith and those who renounced their Catholic Faith. The Bishop stated the truth.
The Bishop has authority in His Catholic Church, of which He is Head, of this Church in Dominica. This was his comments, based on the Catholic Church teachings, according to the Word of God, on the Church’s behalf, i.e., his congregation. He is to be respected as his comments and deserves every bit of it.
For humane reasons, I agree that they should not be punished by human Law. God does not want us to ill-treat anyone. Our Lord taught us the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as we expect them to do to us.” He also said, “This is the Law and the prophets.”
There are many who say they are Christians who are not doing that in various respects. Nevertheless, God will punish sinners if they do not repent and change. Their sinful action will condemn them.
Rightfully so, adults have a personal right, not godly right (unless the latter is a holy life) to choose their lifestyle and what path they wish to follow. It is their prerogative to do so. The Church can inform them of their lifestyle and advise them what the end result of their actions will be if they do not change. Whatever path they choose will either save them or condemn them.
God gave them a free mind and will as He did the rest of us, to do as we please. He knows when sin is committed, how offended He is and the type of punishment which awaits sinners if they continue in their obstinate ways. He is the Judge and will, in time, mete out his fair punishment to them.
The Bishop did not condone their actions; not one bit of them. You must re-read the article and pray to God for enlightenment. He did not commit an error. He merely set a point straight, the point of adult responsibility of their bodies that God gave them and, as baptized Christians, their bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. This pertains to each and every baptized Christian.
Those who are not Christians should also know it is abnormal that people of the same sex indulge in such types of relationships for man and woman were created for a purpose which all of us should be aware of. We are not blind, deaf or sleeping.
The finality of it all, God is the Judge of all. If homosexuals have a conscience they should be very concerned about what awaits them in eternity if they do not make the effort to change their intrinsically evil, abhorrent and scandalous lifestyle.

      J.J. John-Charles:

I appreciate your objectivity and logic. This is something the “gay” activists don’t have when they argue to defend their perversion and win “gay rights”. Your objectivity must drive them crazy.

The only logic they know is “Follow your heart” and “If it feels good do it.” The case against homosexuality is found in the Bible (reinforced by 2,000 years of church tradition) and in Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth by Jeffery Satinover, M.D. Dr. Satinover is a psychiatrist who has practiced as a psychotherapist for over 20 years specializing in same sex relationships, and has lectured in Yale and Harvard.

      Dr. Satinover shows:

      (a) Homosexuals are NOT born that way although some are born with a tendency towards homosexuality just as people are born with a tendency towards other types of anti-social behavior.

      (b) Homosexuality is being successfully treated and he reports on various therapies.

      (c) Homosexuality has been cured. There are ex-gays.

      (d) Homosexuality is unhealthy in various ways. For example he speaks of the harm done to the male body by the practice of anal sex.

I have read his book twice and have challenged DNO commentators to show me one wrong statement Dr. Satinover made. I have received no reply to this question.
They told me the doctor has been “discredited” but could not tell me when, by whom, or why.

They said the book was outdated but didn’t give me an update on anything.

      So much for scholarship!

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill, D.D., International Evangelist.

During Carnival or any type of celebration your women are so vulgar in dress and behavior. Dominican men Abandon their children, disrespect women and are continuous disgrace to the country. Are you saying that you are a perfect person, that you do not sin? Saints are in Heaven.
They are not God-fearing. Human nature is weak and sinful. As long as the opportunity is there, they will indulge in it. The temptation is great. They are also following what exists, is taking place and what others do. Some are worst than others. God will judge them accordingly.
Those who go to church are a step ahead of those who do not go to church. Pray for them. When last did you pray for your fellow people and for Dominica in general?
You know what? It takes two to sin, those who condone it and who do not report it. Do not blame the perpetrators if they are encouraged. Those who do nothing about it, to stop it are equally guilty.
Our Lord said: “Those who know it is wrong and do nothing, it is a sin.” Do not blame others who are not responsible. Why do you not do something about it?

All that’s true but our good God said as it is written where two men get together should be burnt…why do you think two men or two women can’t bring forth a baby that’s because it’s unnatural and not of God

    • May 9, 2014

I can’t speak for Dominica because I have not visited the country. The same sins exist in my own country (Canada). I believe here are many solid, God fearing, good living people in Dominica.

The types of behavior you have mentioned are serious sins. They are even worse if they are committed by people who profess to be Christians. Remember our Lord Jesus said “Not every one who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the Kingdom of God, but those who do the will of my Father in heaven.”

These activities are all sins. Some of them, maybe all, should be illegal. Pastors should preach and teach against them. Church members who commit these sins and do not repent may be lost (God is the one who must decide this) but pastors have a responsibility to warn them and if necessary excommunicate them if they refuse to repent which means they lose their membership in the church. This is sad and an occasion for great sorrow among Christians.

However, what I am hearing is people reminding us that all these other terrible sins also exist as if this fact makes homosexuality perhaps not too serious after all. This is absolutely untrue. Homosexuality is a sin against nature. Romans 1:26,27. It is an assault against marriage which is the cornerstone of civilized society. Matthew 19:4-6. To show us the seriousness of this sin God destroyed Sodom an Gomorrha and at least two other cities. Jude vs. 7.

We want people to know God can and will forgive ALL these sins INCLUDING homosexuality. The Bible says “…the blood of Jesus Christ, (God’s) Son cleanseth us from ALL sin .” 1 John 1:7! WE must believe He died for our sins Acts 16:31, and receive Him as our Savior. John 1:11,12.

A fundamental concept of democracy is the notion that “all men are created equal!” Individuals in free democracies are respected and allotted certain rights and privileges based on this simple precept that human beings have the right to equal opportunity in free and civil societies! Homosexuals are routinely denied access to the institution of civil marriage based on legislative personal opinion about homosexuality! Same-gender couples have the right to a marriage license but are blocked due to “religious doctrine” and misinformation about the Sodom and Gomorrah story! Discrimation based on sexual orientation is illegal in free democracies that recognize and respect individual rights!!!

That group there seem to be a very opportunistic and manipulative group. They will do and say anything to achieve their goals. Stop them Dominicans, stop them.

A lot of people here talking about love and sex between consenting adults. Would you same people support incest amongst consenting adults? If you guys have your way, who is to stop a brother and sister living together as man and wife? Who is to stop a father and daughter to marry? Is all you self who will jump up and say that this is un-natural; so is homosexuality.

If a man can watch another man’s hard body and see that as a sexual object is the same way a person watches a child’s shapeless body and see that as a sexual object, or a human seeing a goat as a sexual object. It is abomination, clear and simple. Women’s bodies are soft and shapely and voluptuous, that is why it attracts us men. A woman looks at the muscular hardness of a man’s body and sees strength and power and is attracted to that by nature. How can a woman look at another woman that has everything she has and sees that as a sexual object? Again, it is un-natural.

And the best joke is, it doesn’t matter what deprave sexual act you guys can come up with to commit on each other, all it comes down to is that you all are trying to immitate the natural sexual act between a man and a woman.

Any sane heterosexual person who loves and cherishes the marriage that they have with their spouse should be jealous for it and guard the sanctity of marriage vigorously.

These days when people say that they are married, you have to be wondering if it is to a man or a woman? Sickening, nasty, corruption.

And the worst part of it, these people want to adopt kids. The sole purpose of this is to monopolize the whole future generation to be gay accepting people. If you cannot have kids with your lover because you both have the same sexual organs, it is because you were not meant to…it is un-natural.

I really have to wonder about these people sometimes. And if you tell me you don’t literally believe in Adam and Eve, then why do you keep bringing it up as an argument?

        Freethinker:

Your foolish words about the Bible are no defence of homosexuality.

You really should stop thinking that Christians are stupid people who blindly believe a lot nonsense. I myself have earned degrees in psychology and Biblical studies.

You seem to have a problem with creation. I suggest you read he book CREATION, by Grant Jeffrey, Ph.D. if you are ready to face the science on the side of creation.

The Bible deals with a narrow stream of human history involving a special people – the Hebrew (Jewish) race – through which God would bring the Messiah/Redeemer in- to the world. In that stream of history there were miracles, supernatural events, and unusual happenings necessary to
facilitate God’s ultimate purpose on earth.

The Bible addresses human behavior and gives us the commandments of God. It shows that we have all broken His commandments and are guilty in His sight. Thank God, it tells of a Savior who died for our sins and rose again! (1 Corinthians 15:3,4) It promises forgiveness and eternal life to those who believe in Him. (John 3:16,17,36)

But sadly, because the Bible also tells us certain behavior is sinful and must be punished unless we repent, some people find it easier to mock the Bible than to follow through and accept God’s wonderful plan of salvation.

Freethinker, I hope you will turn yourself around. I would like to meet you someday at Christ’s right hand. :-P

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

All these people who say “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”–I have to wonder, do you say that because you literally believe in Adam and Eve? Do you literally believe that snakes talk, that all humans descended from two people (and you know what THAT would involve), and that there is a garden where lions and dinosaurs eat grass? If you literally believe this, well, joy to the world for you, but some of us prefer believing in what there is evidence for, and no garden of Eden has ever been found anywhere, no snakes are recorded as talking (unless you think the Harry Potter films are real, too), and, most importantly, we are the products of evolution by natural selection.

And over 1,500 species of animals display clear homosexual orientations, while thousands of others likely contain such orientations. Nature is not a simple thing. It contains many varieties of “normal,” and one such variety is homosexuality. At very least, gay people aren’t hurting us or anyone else by being around (they aren’t pedophiles or involved in bestiality), so what’s the big problem? If your problem is only because the bible says something, well, you need to realize that the bible is not the authority on this or on reality (which you will know if you actually read biblical scholarship).

      • August 24, 2013

You don’t prove the Bible is wrong by mocking it.

To prove a book is not true by ridiculing it or making jokes about it is about an unobjective and as anti-scientific as you could get.

The Bible is about a unique subject. In spite of what appears to be a wide sweep it is dealing with a very specialized part of human history from creation to the forming of the nation of Israel though which he could deliver to mankind the Messiah-Redeemer. This narrow stretch of history by its very nature had to include records of unusual events – supernatural acts of God – or miracles which were a necessary part of how God fulfilled His purposes.

It is wrong to think that Bible believers are uneducated folks who for the most part are a few bricks short of a load. The truth is we have many well informed and successful people in our corner.

Here is what one of them who has passed on had to say about the Bible.

“I thoroughly believe in a university education for both men and women; but I believe a knowledge of the Bible without a college course is more valuable than a college course without the Bible.”

These words were spoken by Professor William Lyon Phelps, one-time president of Yale University.

The unique nature of the Bible is seen in the way it has stood the test of time showing it has been miraculously perserved by God.

The following examples are taken from the book Is the Bible Reliable written by Robert L. Saucy, Th.D.

The famous French humanist Voltaire boastully proclaimed “Fifty years from now the world will hear no more of the Bible.” The year he said that the British Museum purchased one manuscript of the New Testament from the Russian government for $500,000 while the first eition of Voltaire’s book sold for eight cents a copy. Fifty years after Voltaire’s death Bibles were being printed by the Geneva Bible Society in the very house were Voltaire had lived.

Thomas Paine, the author of the book Age of Reason said “When I get through there will not be five Bibles left in America.” With the current variety of translations available today many indiviuals in America have more than that number themselves.

On the shelves of my small library I have books written by Christian M.D.s and Christian Ph.D.s and other man and women of science written for the sole purpose of defending the Bible against skeptics. One of these is not a Christian. He is a Jew! But these scholars all believe the entire Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God including the moral commandments regarding human sexual behaviour.

I would like every young person today who is pursuing a higher education to read Is the Bible True written by E. Ralph, B.A., M.D.

If you’re ready to take an honest look at evolution and are willing to be genuinely scientific I recommend you read the book Creation by Grant Jeffrey, Ph.D. I expect this book can be ordered from AMAZON. Another book that deals with evolution and goes into scientific detail about the six days of creation is The Science of God by Gerald Schroder, Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technoloy (MIT). This scientist is not a Christian. He is a Jew. Also by the same author you could read Genesis and the Big Bang and another book The Hidden Face of God.

I think these books can also be ordered from AMAZON.

Once people know the Bible is the inspired Word of God to be consistant they must accept what it says about homosexuality and every moral issue as the commandments of God. To say that homosexuality is found among animals therefore is “natural” is ridiculous. There are animals that eat their young. Does that make it “natural”? Certainly not for humans! However, we don’t need philosophical reasoning. We have something better. It is the Word of God!

This is what the Creator says:

        Romans 1:24-28

        1 Corinthians 6:9,10

        1 Timothy 1:9,10

        Jude vs. 7

I invite you to visit my website http://www.livinghopeministries.ca

Click onto SERMONS. Listen to my sermon entitled “Many Infallible Proofs”. I share just a little of the more basic evidences for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I give the names of lawyers who have studied the Biblical accounts of the resurrection and say the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ would stand up today in a modern court of law! One of these lawyers was NOT a Christian when he began his studies. He wanted to write a book about the life of Jesus and intended to leave Him in the tomb! Partway through his research he met the risen Christ and became a believer! He finished the book and called it THE BOOK THAT REFUSED TO BE WRITTEN!

Freethinker, when you stand before God He will not ask you “What do you think of evolution?” He’s not going to ask you “What do you think of homosexuality?”

When you stand before God He is going to ask you “What did you do with my Son?” The real issue is have you believed in Him? Have you received Him as your personal Saviour by trusting His shed blood and death on the cross to put your sins away? Please read Romans 3:10 and 23, 1 Corinthians 15:3,4, Revelaton 3:20, and Epesians 2:8,9.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill, D.D. Pentecostal Evangelist.

Sexual orientation is not a matter of choice, it is primarily neurobiological at birth.” So said Jerome Goldstein, director of the San Francisco Clinical Research Centre, addressing 3,000 neurologists from around the world at the 21st meeting of the European Neurological Society (ENS) in Lisbon last month.

In doing so he was attempting to settle a debate that has raged for decades: are gays born or made? It is a puzzle because homosexuality poses a biological conundrum. There is no obvious evolutionary advantage to same-sex relationships. So why are some people attracted to others of the same sex? Sexual attraction provides the drive to reproduction – sex is a means to an end not, in Darwinian terms, an end in itself. From an evolutionary perspective, same-sex relationships should be selected out.

Despite this, they are common in the animal kingdom. Birds do it, bees probably do it and fleas may do it, too. Among the many examples are penguins, who have been known to form lifelong same-sex bonds, dolphins and bonobos, which are fully bisexual apes. Various explanations have been advanced for the evolutionary advantage that such relationships might confer. For example, female Laysan albatrosses form same-sex pairs, which are more successful at rearing chicks than single females. Homosexuality may also help social bonding or ease conflict among males where there is a shortage of females. Gay couples will not preserve their own genes but they may help preserve those of the group to which they belong.

The existence of homosexuality in the animal kingdom has been cited to demonstrate that it is not a sin against nature. The American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its list of recognised mental disorders almost 40 years ago in 1973 and the World Health Organisation followed suit in 1992. The UK Royal College of Psychiatrists does not produce its own list of disorders but tends to follow the WHO.

Yet as recently as February 2010, the college felt compelled to issue a statement to “clarify that homsexuality is not a psychiatric disorder,” adding: “There is no sound scientific evidence that sexual orientation can be changed. Furthermore, so-called treatments of homosexuality create a setting in which prejudice and discrimination flourish.”

The move was prompted by a survey of 1,400 psychiatrists and therapists, which found more than one in six had offered to help turn gays straight, or reduce their gay or lesbian feelings. Moreover, the cases were not concentrated in the past, but spread across the decades up to the present.

Professor Michael King, of the University College Medical School, who led the study published in BMC Psychiatry, said at the time: “We didn’t expect it to be happening at this rate and we are really rather concerned… It is distressing and harmful and there is absolutely no evidence it works.”

One puzzle was that far fewer therapists said they would attempt to change someone’s sexual orientation if asked to do so – one in 25 – than admitted having actually done so. They seemed uncomfortable with giving treatment, or admitting to it. Pressure from clients demanding help because of bullying or discrimination may have pushed the therapists into delivering it.

Professor King said: “If the therapist is not wise enough to say that this is a part of them and there is nothing pathological about it, they may get seduced into trying to change them. Instead, the therapist should be saying that it is very unfortunate they are being bullied and that they can try to help them come to terms with their situation.”

Research in neurobiology, cited by Jerome Goldstein in Lisbon last month, has served to reinforce this view. If it can be shown that the brains of gay people are physiologically different from heterosexual people, the idea that they are “aberrant” and may be changed is harder to sustain.

Twin studies have revealed a probable genetic link with sexual orientation and Dr Goldstone plans to examine the brains of identical twins using MRI scanners for differences.

Researchers from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, using MRI scanners measuring blood flow to the brain have already found differences in the size of the amygdala in the brain, which plays a key role in emotional responses. The brains of homosexual men resembled those of heterosexual women and those of homosexual women resembled those of heterosexual men.

The research builds on other studies of neurological differences between gay and straight men and women. A study led by Qazi Rahman at Queen Mary, University of London, found gay men and heterosexual women share a poor sense of direction and are more likely to navigate using landmarks or by asking someone. It is heterosexual men who stick stubbornly to the map.

The right-hand side of the brain dominates spatial capabilities, so may be slightly more developed in heterosexual men and lesbians. An earlier study found gay men and heterosexual women outperformed lesbians and heterosexual men in verbal fluency.

These studies hark back to those by Simon LeVay, a gay neuroscientist at the Salk Institute in San Diego, California, who claimed to have found structural differences in the brains of homosexual and heterosexual men. Post-mortems studied by LeVay revealed that a region of the brain called the interstitial nuclei of the anterior hypothalamus is two or three times bigger in heterosexual men than it is in women. In gay men, however, this region is about the same size as in women.

This supported the notion that the brains of gay men were in some ways a bit like women. But LeVay acknowledged that it was impossible to say whether this made people gay or whether the differences in their brains were a consequence of being gay. To make a compelling case, it would be necessary to show that the neurological differences existed early in life and that it was possible to predict future sexual orientation from them.

But he was captivated by the idea that, if gays were “born that way” it could undermine the morality of homosexual discrimination. He believed that a lifestyle based on an innate propensity rather than a conscious choice is far more difficult to condemn.

Jerome Goldstein agrees. “We must continue to bring forward data that show the differences or similarities between the brains of homosexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals, and transgender persons.” He added: “The neurobiology of sexual orientation and the gay brain, matched with other hormonal, genetic, and structural studies, has far-reaching consequences beyond sexual orientation.”

Roger, you just made the case for murder, beastiality, incest and pedophelia.

If a person was born having sexual affections for their mother or father or siblings, we curb that out of them because it is wrong.

If a person was born having sexual affections for children or animals, we curb that out of them because it is wrong.

If a person was born having the sexual desires of taking other people’s lives from them, we curb it out of them because it is wrong.

If you accept that ‘Born this way’ thingy, then you have to accept it for all sets of people, not just one set. You can’t take what is wrong and try to make it right by stating ‘Born this way’.

That Goldstein guy has his own darn agenda…

Such people have their strange, ungodly views. It happened at birth? Our all-holy and all-pure God did not create homosexuals. If he did he would be going against himself for God disdains sin. The mere act of homosexuality is highly offensive to God.
Sounds like scientists who also do not believe in God. They encourage homosexuality instead of informing them to seek help. It could be reversed. It has been reversed for some people in especially the U.S. They got help from some US Catholic groups and probably other Christian groups. They are free to accept help or not. No one is forcing them. It has to be voluntary.
Homosexuality is not a good practice. It leads to nowhere except down slippery slopes and the path of perdition. It will never be approved by God. They better think God and what will Jesus say about their abomination towards him.

Some men are borne effeminate. But when it comes to having sex (key word here), some – not all effeminates CHOOSE to do so with an anus, it’s a choice they make. All this hog wash you cut and paste above is from constant efforts of many intellectuals to justify one man digging into the intestines of another; which is not sex, it’s buggery, which like other forms of mutilation has been made illegal in Dominica.

It’s a National health issue. I can understand it not being a national health issue in some countries, because they may have many bigger health issues to deal with, so that is their prerogative not Dominica’s. Make healthy choices not just do things just because you can, it can have devastating health consequences on the island, we have and need laws to protect out society.

In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders in its DSM.

This was not done because of any new knowledge. It was a totally dishonest move brought about by homosexuals and their sympathizers within the organization. The way the “vote” was pulled off would make anybody with a fair sense of democracy cringe.

Yes, other professional organizations and health professions have done the same. Partly because of the influence of homosexuals within their ranks, partly because their therpists have had almost no success in treating homosexuals and their failure does nothing for the profession, and partly to maintain a good working relationship one with another across the board, and of course to present a united front to the public.

Anybody who has been able to take a close up look at the inside circumstances that led to the delisting by the American Psychiatrict Association in 1973 knows it was dishonest beyond questonable. But it gave them what they wanted. Now lobby groups are trying to stop therapists treating gay clience who wish to change.

The fact that other psychiatric and psychological associations would fall in line with the APA’s delisting and do the same knowing (as they would have to) how the 1973 action was brought about is scary. Psychiatry has in the past lent itself to destructive causes.

Those trapped in homosexuality are people with deep problems that have nothing to do with them being badly treated by straight people. The AIDS, mental health issues, alcoholism, and higher suicide rate that are found among homosexuals are also found among homosexuals who have been submerged in the gay culture for decades far removed from straight people who could trouble them.

As long as therapists refuse what the Word of God says about sin and human nature, as long as they don’t recognize the redemptive power of the gospel, they will do the only thing they can do for homosexuals: tell lies to relieve their feeling of guilt and give them a false sense of comfort.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

        Roger:

There are a number of flaws in this lengthy article. They may go unnoticed by the majority of your readers because some of them are not knowledgeable to begin with, and many just assume that any writer with so much information to share must know what he is talking about.

Like all professions psychology and psychiatry have their share of homosexuals. Some of these entered psychology in search for answers to the problems in their own lives. Obviously a few of them have climbed the professional ladder to serve on the executives of their governing bodies, or the editorial committees of their official magazines.

I am aware of the fact that the DSM removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders in 1973. Gary, I cannot believe that an educated man like you would not know the circumstances that led up to this change. I expect that you know as well as I do that this removal was not done on scientific grounds. There was no new knowledge. It was strictly a political move. It was dishonest and underhanded the way it was pulled off. This is well known by those in my field who write and speak on the subject. We do have the documentation.

You have referred to the fact that homosexuality is found in the animal kingdom so this shows it is not unnatural. Gary, there are also animals that will at times eat their offspring! This does not prove the practice is natural or normal even for them. It definitely does NOT make it acceptable for humans even though it has happened!

Scary to see the amount of bigotry and hatred that is still out there and all under the name of religion.
To me a persons worth is made obvious by their innate goodness . If they are good sons and daughters, helpful to friends and neighbours, non judgemental, non violent, honest, not taking advantage of those weaker than them, trustworthy etc. that means they are a good person. Their sexual identity is secondary.
Perhaps we all need to look into a mirror and see what shines back at us ? Good person or not so good, before we try to judge others.

They are not judging them. They are informing those who practice it that it is not OK and is nothing to be proud of. Their action is a scandal and a disgrace to humanity. I do think they should be ashamed of themselves. Such a practice should not be out in the open and being flaunted before people especially the children. Their little minds are contaminated with the wrong meaning of accepting such immoral actions.

It comes across like “They’re engaging in bigotry and hatred; I’m not. (Your own words now:) ‘To me, a persons [sic] worth is made obvious…’ etc. So YOUR opinion is OK; theirs is not. Therefore, you can afford to judge. Not at all!! In reality, you are guilty of the same wrong of which you accuse others. Far better to simply state your view than to resort to labeling people’s views as “bigotry and hatred.”

Those who push the gay agenda do not have the facts on their side. This renders them incapable of genuine debate because they have no terms of reference.

Since they lack objectivity it is difficult to even discuss the issue with them. Instead of offering us facts they resort to name calling. Like MewMew has said they label our views bigotry, hatred, and so on. They know they cannot prove us wrong so they lower themselves to try to intimidate us. Dominicans are hypocrites! A major national trait. They quote the Bible when it suits them. When they fornicate or commit adultery or abuse children, they are not concerned at all about the Bible. But when gay men and women assert their identity, the so-called Christians run to their Bibles and starting quoting scriptures and preaching brimstone and fire on homosexuals. If they believe the Bible should regulate behaviour in the society, then children who are sassy to their parents should be stoned, men who wear their hair long will be denied entry to Heaven, master-slave relations should be permitted. The Bibles stipulates all these strange things and more. The Bible contains the cultural prejudices of its writers. Personal dislikes of certain sexual acts cannot be justification for the society as a whole to criminalise and punish adult men and women who freely, willingly and intentionally engage in these acts. The extent to which we protect minorities measures or marks our level of maturity, civility and tolerance in a democracy. Amen!

They are men who have relationships with other men and this is wrong and immoral. You cannot expect every member of society to accept that. They have a right, reason and duty to quote the Holy Bible. It is the Word of the Lord. He will never accept their actions. Therefore, you are being warned how offensive such actions are to the Lord and the eternal repercussion and punishment for those who practice them.

If you couldn’t marry another adult you are in love with, that would not be discrimination? It seems you need a return trip to the dictionary. And how can you not see this same basic argument can be made–and was made–with interracial marriage in the United States up until a few decades ago?

Read the Bishop’s article again. You will see that nothing has changed. The Church still maintains that wrong is wrong.

Personally, I believe that sin is a religious concept. Crime is a legal concept. Some sins are crimes. Homosexuality in itself, between two consenting adults, cannot be a crime. It is wrong in the religious beliefs but so is adultery and fornication. Why exactly, should homosexuality be a crime when adultery and fornication are not?

When we look in the Bible, the Old Testament law criminalized adultery – the woman was to be stoned. Jesus turned this around – Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We took this to mean that adultery is not a crime. Shouldn’t the same thing hold for homosexuality?

Church preachers have misinterpreted the Sodom & Gomorrah story to condemn all sorts of lasciviousness but when we read the entire story no mention was ever made directly to acts of homosexuality! Read Ezekiel 16:48-50 for more insight on the sins of Sodom & Gomorrah!!

      May 24, 2013

As you simple put it some sins are crimes. Adultery is a crime when the married man buggars another man.

    • August 15, 2013

FORNICATION: A word used in ancient times to describe any illicit sexual intercourse. Included sex between a single man and a single woman, adultery which is sex between a man and woman when one or both is married to somebody else, homosexualty which is sex between two people of the same gender, and beastility which is sex between a human being and an animal.

Homosexuality is an illicit form of sexual intercourse and is therefore included in the word “fornication”. The Bible identifies homosexuality as a sin by forbidding it in Romans 1:24-28, 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, 1 Tomothy 1:9,10, and Jude vs. 7.

In modern times the word “fornication” is most often used to describe sex between two single people and we use the other word “adultery” for sex between a man and woman when one or both is married to somebody else. In these comments I will use the word “fornication” for two single people so you will know what I’m talking about.

God has delegated to governments the authority to make laws to give us a peaceful, orderly, and respectable sociey. In fact the Police Officr is God’s minister (servant) to enforce those laws. We are to obey the law and support the system. Please read Romans 13:1-4.

Because human sexuality touches almost every aspect of our lives and has far reaching results it is reasonable that there should be laws that regulate human sexuality.

As members of a democratic country who pay taxes and vote we have a right to request our elected leaders to give use laws that are in accord with the Word of God and in harmony with the Divine will. Christians are happy that they have given us marriage laws based upon the model God gave us in Matthew 19:4-6.

There are sins like fornication and adultery which are not crimes in most counties even where homosexuality is a crime. It would be impossible to know in many cases who is committing these sins, and when and where it is happening. Besides the added work load would be too much for our police, the courts, and the jails to handle!

To criminalize fornication and adultery probably would not be practical. However, these things are sins. Churches have a responsibility to preach against these things and teach the right way to go in life.

There should be laws against homosexualiy because
it is in a class by itself. The Bible says in Romans 1:26,27 it is “against nature”. It stikes at the cornerstone of civilized society which is the model God gave us for marriage in Matthew 19:4-6. These laws will not prevent people some people from comitting homosexual sins but they will make it possible to contain the problem. They give the police the tools to work with whereby they can arrest offenders who flaunt their perversion openly giving our children and youth the wrong message.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

If this is crazy like in tree (but here’s no crazy in tree) lol! The Bishop said “The Catholic Church maintains that free sexual acts between adult persons must not be treated as crimes to be punished by civil authorities’ as this addresses MiriDom’s concerns,” it said. “The Bishop clarified the Catholic Church’s position on the criminalization of same sex intimacy among consenting adults by stating: ‘I wish to make it clear that the Catholic Church in Dominica adheres to the call of the Holy See ‘to condemn all forms of violence against homosexual persons Priests as well as MiriDom memebers and take necessary measures to put an end to all criminal penalties against them’.”

The group said “it is now clear that one of the oldest and the largest religious denominations in Dominica – and a major contributor to social and educational systems in Dominica – Has homosexuals and would support an end to criminal penalties against homosexuals.”

MiriDom says it looks forward to further fruitful discussions with the Bishop, the acting DPP a few large business places supermarkets, restuarant owners etc on the matter.

        Strange!

The Roman Catholic Church for centuries has opposed homosexuality with no signs of a compromise. Then what happens? A pope resigns and goes into seclusion. The next pope doers a flip-flop and says Catholics must be more accepting of gays, etc.

Several things led up to this.

Sex scandals in the church – world wide and including priests at high levels – has led the world to take a closer look at the organization. It is now common knowledge that there is a high percentage of gay priests. It is no longer expedient for the church to be so judgmental in its condemnation of homosexuality.

So much is known about the problem now since men have started to come forward and tell of how they were abused by priests. There are those who think certain priests at the top of the leadership chain in the Vatican may be guilty. What if they are being being blackmailed to soften their stand against homosexuality?

We can only hope this causes people to look to the Word of God and not human leaders for truth and guidance. Forget the Vatican. Read your Bible.
If something was a sin 100 years ago it is still a sin now. Find a Bible believing church and start attending.

Men who have anal sex and perform cunnilingus on their female partner how is that expression any different from homosexual sex acts? The issue is equal rights not how we express love to our lover! The LGBT Movement is about equality and the church aught to support our cause but due to misinterpretations of scripture an entire nation of people are living without equal rights!!!

      • September 30, 2014

People have absolutely NO right to break the laws of God.

Yes, if a straight person has a right to violate the commandments of God then a gay person has the same right. The truth is neither of us have such a right!

Hetero people and homo people already HAVE the same right. They both have the right to marry somebody of the opposite gender!

All this fussing about equal rights is poppycock! What we have are neurotic people who think they are different and want license to behave differently. They have the logic of a man who thinks he is a poached egg.

      • August 15, 2013

What you have described is a sign of the apostacy – the great falling away – from truth and righteousness in the last days.

St. Paul said “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving head unto seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;” (1 Timothy 4:1,2)

It does not surprise those who know the prophetcal scriptures that large organizations which claim to be “the church” are denying the Word of God and allowing those who are living lives of open sin to serve within their ranks.

St. Peter said “…there shall be false teachers among you,… and MANY shall follow there pernicious ways…” (2 Peter 2:2)

St. Paul said in the last days people would not want to be taught the Word of God and hear how God says they are to live. They will look for religious leaders who will accept their sinful lifestyles and cater to their lusts. He wrote:

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (teaching); but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:3,4) :!:

The Bible warns us against sins of lust and perversion. It tells us that in the last days before Christ returns the moral condition of society will be like that of Sodom and Gomorrha before God destroyed those cities. :(

When Christ was teaching about the end of this age and His return He said “Likewise also AS IT WAS in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, and they sold, they planted and they builded: But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. THUS SHALL IT BE when the Son of man shall be revealed.” (Luke 17:28-30)

What God did to Sodom and Gomorrha is a warning to all those in our day who disobey His commandments and insist on committing the same abominations.

St. Jude said “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set for an EXAMPLE, suffering the vengeange of eternal fire.” (Jude vs. 7)

When people insist on living lives of unbridled lust and passion, when they reject the Word of God, and refuse the sweet wooing of the Holy Spirit, there comes a moment in time when God turns them over to the life they have chosen for themselves with all its dreadful consequences.

St. Paul said concerning some who had sinned away their day of grace “For this cause God GAVE THEM UP unto vile affections; for even their women dod change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one towards another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves the just recompence of the error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God GAVE THEM UP unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” (Romans 1:26-28)

Nothing can justify behaviour that God calls an abomination regardless of how many people are following that path. In fact the Bible tells us many (large numbers of people) WILL follow the path of sin. It is what we have expected and it is what is happening!

Christ said “…wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destructon, and MANY there be which go in therat:” (Matthew 7:13)

Many are travelling on the broad and crowded road because they don’t know there is a better way. They are bound by sin and don’t realize they can be free. But 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ accepted their guilt and died for their sins. (Romans 5:6,8) They can be saved (forgiven, cleansed, delivered, and set free) if they will believe this (John 3:16) and receive Christ as their Savior (Revelation 3:20)

      • January 28, 2014

        Really?

So this is why a school brought two lesbians in to speak to the students in an open assembly about the joys of being gay?

This is why schools in Canada are being mandated by the Provincial governments to teach in phys-ed and health classes that homosexuality is a normal alternative lifestyle?

This is why a 9 yr old boy came home from school in Toronto a few weeks ago and told his parents “This morning we learned all about being gay. The teacher taught us how to come out of the closet.”

A 15 year old girl come home from school and told her parents “We’re learning about how homosexuals do it. The teacher showed us how to put a condom on a banana.

But of course gays are much too busy to push their agenda on others. This is why there is a rather big book being sold in Canada’s largest book stores entitled THE JOY of GAY SEX?

Studies show that a high percentage of homosexuals were molested as children by older homosexuals.

And of course everybody knows homosexuality is not a choice. They were “born that way”. But we’re still trying to understand how it is that a significant number of both homosexual men and women were once married and had biological children of their own before “coming out” and moving in with a same sex partner. And then there are both men and women who were in same sex relationships for years and – some through therapy and some through Christian conversion – broke free and became straight. Some married and now have children of their own.

And please don’t say this is not true because I know some of them.

But those who are enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season have no interest in this information and become quite upset when anybody tries to share it with them.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

For the people who post the “All Sin is Sin” nonsense to justify their homosexual, nasty acts, it is just ridiculous. All sin CANNOT be regarded as the same. There is no way one can put fornication (the act of a man having sex with a woman out of wedlock) in the same category as man on man sex. Case in point, before the act of sodomy which caused the burning down of sodom, the men who wanted to have sex with the male angels were pleaded to take the virgin girls of the house where the angels were encamped. Surely they would have committed fornication (even rape) if they had taken the women, but the fact that they actually had sex with the men instead is what really drove God to have burnt down that city. One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that indeed the act of sodomy on the men was considered a more abonminable sin than if they had in fact fornicated (raped) the virgin girls whom they were being offered. People here must simply stop defending and justifying this nasty, homosexual, perverted practice, period!!!!!!

    • June 2, 2013

Ezekiel 16:48-50 clearly states what the sins of Sodom & Gomorrah were – it s corruption in the church that started the damnation rumor about homosexuality being the cause for the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah – the church takes great lengths to advocate the half-truth of the Sodom story yet fails to mention King David homoeroticism for Jonathan in 2 Samuel 1:26 and Ruth’s love for Naomi in Book of Ruth 1:14 – The church has shunned homosexuals – Paul’s writing to the Romans was in reference to male Temple prostitution and male on male rape!! Of course the church forgets to share these historical points when ostracizing gays today!!!

      • August 25, 2013

Homosexuals are now putting a spin on the scriptures that forbid homosexuality by making them out to say something different.

Several things should be noted. 8-O

There are rules we must follow when it comes to Biblical interpretation. The interpretation of scripture is not something we make up as we go along.

I have looked again at the texts that forbid homosexuality and can assure you that the traditional interpretations are correct. The church has interpreted these texts the same way for 2,000 years. Nations have based their laws upon them. People who violate these commandments hurt themselves. They bring problems into their lives – problems they cannot blame on straight people mistreating them. :-o

Where did these new interpretations come from? They didn’t come out of Bible Colleges or seminaries. They didn’t come from Bible scholars or accredited theologians. They were unheard of until the the current homosexual revolution. They are ridiculous to those of us who work in the field of Biblical scholarship becaue they don’t follow the recognized rules for Bible interpretation. They are “interpretations of convenience” created by people with no background in theology in order to justify a warped lifestyle. :-x

I first heard this “gay theology” from a young man who had left his wife and two sons for the gay scene. He argued that he had been born gay even though he didn’t know he was gay until he was married with a family. I didn’t want to be too personal but I couldn’t help wondering how a homosexual could become sufficently sexually aroused with a woman to produce two children.

This man lived for decades in the gay community. Most of the time he lived in the gay village in Toronto. He told me he had no moral problems with homosexuality. His newly dicovered “gay theology” seemed to take the religious pressure off. He had no contact in later years with straight people – family or otherwise – who would trouble him. But he became an alcoholic. I remember him telling me “All alcoholics are not homosexuals. But all homosexuals are alcoholics.” I didn’t agree with him but he sounded convincing. He committed suicide. His name was Charlie.

I still hear the argument that what two people do in the bedroom is their own business because it doesn’t harm anybody else. I suspect this is seldom true. Charlie left behind a devastated wife. His two little boys were heart broken. His mother was shattered. His sister was grief sricken. The community lost a successful health care professional.

You see, I think the church has created a monster that it cannot control.

Instead of supporting the portions of the Good Book that advocate “love for all” and “we are all God’s children”, the church took a divisive stance that sought to pin believers against non-believers, the chosen against the non-chosen, and the sinners against non-sinners (?). Naturally, the congregation will apply their belief across the board and so anyone who is different now appears to be a threat and as such, they are condemned.

It’s funny now that the church has softened their stance on homosexuality, but “the monster” is not yet ready to accept those past errors in judgment. If you believe in God then you should believe that we are all His children, no matter what crime or sin we commit. THAT should be the overarching tenet that motivates us as a people and as a species.

The church has never changed its stance on homosexuality. Love the sinner hate the sin. Secondly, the church is forever preaching on love until we fed up of our Sunday sermons because thats all they talk about. You are a liar just like the devil. The devil comes in many forms. You obviously don’t go to church. Another typical Dominican who can always tell you what in someone else backyard even if they never been in it.

I did not mean to offend you, Anon. I was only making an observation. And while some churches may preach about love (and I don’t know why you or anyone would be fed up of this), historically, the church has promoted the condemnation of those who don’t follow or subscribe to its teachings.

It is those historical teachings that have caused such a strong hatred of gays and other religions, among other things. So whether or not I go to church now, the damage is already done. Most churchgoers will continue to be intolerant of homosexual behavior.

And I never said that the church changed its stance. What I said was that the church softened its stance. This is very different. In fact, “love the sinner, hate the sin” is a relatively new concept because they Pope sanction the hanging of hundreds of suspected homosexuals in the middle ages.

Like I said before, these laws aren’t enforced…homosexuals don’t live in fear in Dominica……I have never seen 2 men holding hands or being affectionate in public in Dominica but I was told that lesbians do it…they kiss one another…I once saw 2 girls kissing very affectionately, but not in Da and it turned my stomach, but they have their rights like everyone else….they should also expect the negative reaction/stares from people

Everybody wants “their rights”. The only right I embrace is the right to be called a child of God (John 1:12). Jesus WILL come back, and EVERY knee will bow. Whether you are rich or poor, president or peasant, King or farmer, straight or homosexual/lesbian, pretty or “ugly”, black or white, educated or illeterate, tall or short, big boom boom or flat boom boom. Everyone will be on their knees declaring that Jesus Christ is indeed Lord, whether joyfully or sorrowfully. This is GUARANTEED! I am embracing my right today – how about you?

I think MiriDom is receiving outside influence and funds to push someone else agenda. How is it that they failed to state at least one of the other areas where Dominicans are being striped of their human rights?
It is my right to smoke if I want to so maybe we should also decriminalize the use of marijuana.

The Bishop should have seen through that … :-D

I wait in great anticipation to see if folks will fight with Daddy God for their rights to enter into heaven on “THAT DAY”. Every fornicator, liar, adulterer, murderer, thief, extortioner, soccerer, satanist or what have you should also fight for their rights! the rights to wallow in their sins and still be ACCEPTED and tolerated by ALL!

Loving someone does not constitute accepting everything he/she says or does.

Homosexuals are not requesting special rights but merely to be “respected” as fellow human beings,” the group said on Friday–News Article

What on earth is this “MiriDom” group saying here? If I respect a person–whoever and for whatever the attitude and conducts of that person–it is because he or she has earned my respect, for respect is not granted to no one, it has to be earned by that person, just like a person must earn his or her paycheck through hard work.

I also agree with the Bishop that these people should not be punished by civil authority for their conducts, because that conduct is no different any other sinful conducts, as I will continue to believe.

But that does not mean that I want this behavior flaunted in my face. Homosexuals should remain behind closed doors with their behavior for it is also a “shameful” practice as a human being–shamefulness is not a practice no one should put on display like a banner to the world.

Also, I believe that this MiriDom group is exaggerating, quite a bit, in reference to violence against homosexuals–I am speaking about Dominica and Dominicans, for that is where this group originates–I don’t care about the rest of the world.

Besides that, there is violence against all sorts of people–which they are good or bad–as long as the community does not accept the functions of those people. The other thing is that people reap the fruits of the seeds they sow; if I do not want violence and disrespect, I will not sow those seeds.

Most of all, the word of God has called His chosen people to not belong in the world even if they live in it–don’t those of us who belong to our God have the right to accept His commands to us?

Why should I go out of my way to respect a man who does not respect himself, much more for God Holiness, sine he feels that he finds better pleasure in sexual intercourse with another male person rather than a female person? What respect did he earn from me through his behavior?

Homosexuality is a shameful and sinful habit before our Holy God and so, He tells come out from among them, not respect them: Read it below:

    (14) Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?

    (15) And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

    (16) And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them
And walk among them. I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.

    (17) Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.

    (18) “I will be a Father to you,and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” 2nd Corinthians 6: 14-18

Just homosexual desires to give their body to Satan, so do I desire that my body remains the Temple God’s Holy Spirit in me.

It is none of my business what homosexuals do with their bodies, every human is a child of a human parents but not every human being is a child of God; however every human being will be accountable for their own way of existence in this world, but at God’s appointed time.

Therefore, I will not accept homosexuals flaunting their behavior in my face and demanding that I respect them at the time–no way!!!!!!

Intolerance in the name of God is the child of ignorance. It is the locks on wisdom. You forgot this from your Bible If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.I John 4:20 Do you know hatred unlocks no doors in heaven.

      • June 3, 2013

        @Gary May 26, 2013

You are right to use the term “your Bible” because you may be able to read the message that is spoken in it, but you could never understand that message–for the message of the Bible is a message of Life, you are existing in death and waiting for the physical you to expire like smoke in the wind.

Otherwise you would know that intolerance does not belong in God’s vocabulary or else His Holy Spirit would not conduct the nature of
“endurance” or “longsuffering” in those people whom He has indwelt–I am one of those people

If God was an intolerable God, a creature like you would not be existing today, to be speaking such rubbish against Him.

Just like the idiot whom you are, so did you interpret the Scripture, included in your foolishness above.

The Apostle Paul tells us to love one another, but hate the bad things which they do. You choose your own habits-don’t tell me how to choose mine.

      • August 25, 2013

Gary, it is so grievous to read your defences of homosexuality.

Yes, the Bible tells us to love our bother. But even your application of this scripture is misplaced. We are NOT all children of God. Therefore we are not all brohers and sisters. Only those who have received Christ are children of God according to St. John 1:11,12, therefore only they are our brothers and sisters in the family of God.

We should also love those who are not part of the family. We are to love neighbors and even enemies. But common sense tells us we are going to relate to them somewhat differently.

Love means we care for the well being of the other person. We will help him or her when we can.
But if we know that individual is doing wrong we should care enough to tell them – even warn them (in a kind way) – of the outcome of their wrong doing.

Christians should as much as possible show love and kindness to everybody. But when people break God’s laws and live in sin they themselves quality the social inteaction we are able to have with them. God has given us instruction for our lives which includes our relations with other people and or involvement in certain activities in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, and Ephesians 5:3-8.

You believe you have a “right” to reject these scriptures. So you live differently. But please respect our choice of a faith journey. Don’t “discriminate” against us.

Tolerance does not mean an indiscriminate and blanket acceptance of everybody and their sinful behaviour. Are we suppose to be tolerant of those who commit fornication? We are? What if it was your sister or daughter that young man was using? Are we suppose to tolerate adultery? Yes? What if you catch another man in bed with your wife? What about rape, incest, or beastility? Christians believe they are to apply Ephesians 5:11,12 to such situations. We love people. That is why we will not tolerate them destoying themselves.

You should be tolerate of us. We are living the faith – or trying to live the faith – we believe in. It is a Bible based faith. It is our heritage. For some of us it has been handed down for generations. This faith requires us to follow the scriptures I have included in these comments the best we can. If we don’t always relate to certain ones in society the way you think we should it may be because we don’t think this is the way to truly help them. Don’t slander us for following the scriptures because your way has not reduced the problems created by the lifestyles we condemn.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

Nearly all Dominicans are liars, more than half are fornicators (tons of children are born out of wedlock every day)…..don’t talk about adultery all Dominicans break the laws of God every day….

What shall done to them? Treat them like sub humans? Take away their human rights? Stone them on the streets like the bible recommends for certain sins?

If we have to do that, nuff Dominicans would be stoned every day.

I doh even think the bible ever used the word ‘un-natural’….it simply made clear that ALL sin is sin.

The bible clearly stated sex outside marriage (fornacation) is a sin and from that perspective Dominica is awashed in sin.

To those who say we should decriminalize homosexuality I have this to say. To be CONSISTENT we would also have to do away with the age of consent making it legal to have consensual sex with a child of any age; drop the laws that forbid all kinds of incest; and eliminate the law against beastility. The very same arguments that are used to decriminalize homosexuality can be used to deciminalize every other type of deviate sexual behaviour. The homosexual who does NOT agree with this is discriminating against another minority group whose orientation just happens to be different than his own. After all, nobody should be be allowed to tell us who we can or cannot love. And what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is their own business! If these arguments apply to one form of deviate sexuality they MUST apply to them all. Any other policy goes against the principle of equality and discriminates against somebody. Give it time and it WILL be challenged in court! To sum this all up: The government MUST have laws in place that forbid certain types of sexual behavior and prohibit some relationships. To have laws we must be prepared to deal with those who violate them in court. This is part of civilization. It is what separates us from the jungle. God has given this authority and responsiblity to civil governments according to Romans 13:1-4. I pray that governments and people of faith will believe and obey the Word of God. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

Do you know how many adulterers there are in Dominica? PLENTY.

So we need to put them all to death too.

Matthew 19:9 “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.” Wouldn’t this cause the man to be put to death?

Mark 10:11 “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.” Again, wouldn’t he then be put to death since he would have committed adultery?

Mark 10:12 “And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.” Same question I ask about the women who are considered have committed adultery. Wouldn’t they be put to death also?

Dorival you have a point. It is not illegal to have consensual sex with your neighbour’s wife, or even with your stepmother but it is illegal to perform buggery with your own wife. I think I should add my 2cents. I know a lot of couples (MALE & FEMALE) who have been together for years and live DOG LIVES. Meaning they fight daily they are unhappy in their relationship and this not only affects their families but the people they interact with on a daily basis. I say this to say I’d rather see 2men or 2women in a happy prosperous relation than living the life of dog. Some men are born genetically with female hormones and therefore are attracted to men vice versa some women are born with men genes and are attracted to females. Whatever the circumstances that bring two individuals together I hope it’s not just to promote sex but to establish healthy nourishing relationships and by extension better family structure. I’m not gay but I have friends that are gay and they have great lives. What they do in the privacy of their homes doesn’t affect they way I live my life. I just wish everyone happiness and love and hope their contribution to our lives can be one that add a lot of meaning and value. Blessed day love ones.

The Bishop said so? He needs to be placed on discipline for totally disregarding God’s word and as a “man of God” he should know better. Shame! If it was back in the days when priest walked into the temple with a bell tied to their feet and he went inside the temple of God with this foolishness he would have been struck dead. You don’t mess with God and expect to lead his people righteously. That is why I don’t believe in catholism. Their teachings don’t come from what the bible says IT COMES FROM ROME AND THE VATICAN(the third 6).

did u read the bishop’s article? Please do so first.

    • May 25, 2013

Since I am not a Catholic I beg you to excuse my ignorance. As I look back at Bishop Malzarie’s explanation of the message from the Vatican a few questions rise. First, did this come directly from the pope? If so why is it not being taken more seriously by Catholics? But here is the real cruncher and I’m not sure any lay Catholic can answer it. If it did come directly from the pope was he SPEAKING FROM THE CHAIR? (Catholics will know what I mean.) Because if he was SPEAKING FROM THE CHAIR he was speaking officially as the Vicar of Christ and the Successor of Peter. What he said was (according to Cathoic teaching) infallible. How can any Catholic dare challenge what he says? But the fact is that many – maybe the majority of Catholics under fifty – do not live by the moral directives that come from the Vatican and have no interest in even knowing if the pope was SPEAKING FROM THE CHAIR or from his bed. Cases in point: (a) What the church says about birth control. (b) What the church says about same homosexuality. (c) What the church says about pre-marital sex. Here in Canada it was a Roman Catholic PM who decriminalized homosexuality with his famous saying, “Big brother has no business in the bedrooms of the nation.” When he died he was given a big lavish Catholic funeral. Since then it has been Catholic polititians who have done the most to legalize both abortion and same sex marriage. If these people do not believe what their church teaches regarding moral issues and values how can they trust what the church says about their salvaton and how to get to heaven? Why would they even want a Catholic funeral? Why would a priest provide this service for a poliitian who spent years tearing down the teachings of the church and leading a nation away from God into the abyss of moral darkness? How can a priest serve Holy Communion to polititions who champion the pro-abortion and pro-gay causes? Ask yourself why! There has to be a reason! Let me help you out. What will the priest receive for providng such ministry? Or what does the church hope to gain from this kind of compromise? Another quesion is being asked by those who know their history. Go back a few centuries. The Catholic Church would try men for teaching heresy (that is doctrine contrary to the teaching of the church). In some cases if they were found guilty the church would turn them over to the (Catholic) civil authorities to be executed. The “heretics” would then be in the hands of government officials who would put them to death. Somebody please explain this. How can it be that there is now a message from the Vatican saying “…sexual acts between adults must not be treated as crimes to be punished by civil authorities.” The church is now saying in effect “We do not want civil authorities punishing people for breaking God’s laws and violating church teaching against homosexuality. I realize centuries have passed since the church used civil authorities to put to death those it (the church) found guilty of breaking religious laws. But this should make no difference in the church that is ruled by the Vicar of Christ on earth and guided by the Holy Spirit – the church that never changes. The reason for this flip-flop is obvious. It is a politically correct compromise to pacify human governments. These governments are feeling the need to satisfy homosexual lobby groups and want to stay in favour with the UN. True Christians – like the true church itself – will be recognized in the midst of all this confusion by their unbending loyalty the Word of God! I invite you to visit my website http://www.livinghopeministries.ca and go to ARTICLES. Read my article entitled “Things that Cannot be Shaken”. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

That same Bible which referred to, also said: “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.

Only those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive HIM as their personal Savior are saved and will go to heaven.

If the pope says those who do not believe in Christ and reject HIM may be redeemed and will go to heaven based upon whatever good works they do and how they help others he is wrong. First you should get your Bible and read Ephesians 2:8,9 and Titus 3:5,6.

Jesus Christ Himself is the ONLY way to heaven according to St. John 14:6.

Now read: St. John 3:36, 1 John 5:11,12, Acts 4:12.

You should know that popes have not always had a good track record.

Once there were two popes at the same time. They both ex-communicated each other.

Popes have again and again disagreed even on important matters. More than once a pope has said a previous pope was wrong on an issue.

One pope said a young woman was a witch and had her burned at the stake. A later pope made her a saint! This was St. Joan of Arc.

Here is the answer to your last question.

Because those laws were given to a particular people – the nation of Israel – for a limited time. They expired when Christ died on the cross. John 19:30, Romans 10:4, Colossians 2:14,15.

We now live in a new era of faith that is open to both Jews and Gentiles. We are obligated to believe and obey the New Testament which is for all people.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

        Hope this will help you.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is still the Same, Yesterday, Today and Forever. His Law does not change. The Holy Bible does not become old-fashioned because we are living in a new era. If it were so, in view of what is occurring in the world, we would have an immoral bible.
It is obvious you are in dire need of God’s blessing, graces and enlightenment.
Your comments do not change a thing and the truth. You have depicted that you know nothing about God and his Word according to Holy Scripture. Woe to you if you do not believe in God. People as you we must pray for.

It is clear that everyone has rights, but in the eyes of God Homosexuality is a sin, However, I really don’t like it when people treat homosexuals differently because God said we are all his children. Let’s leave the judgement to him ok people.

    • Reon
      May 24, 2013

I understand what you are trying to say but there is NO where in the bible where God refers to every one as his children.

If you have that scripture let me have it.

There are numerous biblical references made to “Children of this world”. Example Ephesians 2:2. Can you make a guess as to what “Children of this World” means? Can you be both a child of this world and a child of God?

In this text Children of this world refers to people who are not Christ followers.

And no – homosexually does not make you a child of this world is your refusal to surrender your life to Jesus. All sinners a welcome… Come as you are and let Jesus change us from the inside out!

All sin is sin but homosexuality is a life style. While I will never agree with treating any human being differently I think the homosexual community has an agenda in forcing people to accept their life style.

While I don’t believe criminalizing what someone does sexually in private lives, I believe we have to be very careful with this dialog. The next thing you know people would forcing the issue of gay marriage.

Those your satement also apply to drug users who may use illicit drugs and not meddle with others? sureley they to can use the excuse that they are adults ‘doing their thing’ and should be left alone. Wrong is wrong and right is right. Homosexuality is gainst the law of nature and is an abomination, period!!! Like the druguser, you may choose to engage in it, but should be equally punished if caught!!!!

      • My2Sense
        May 25, 2013

Exactly – adults who choose to use drugs in the privacy of their own homes, in my opinion, should be free to do so… as long as they don’t harm or endanger any non-consenting adult in the process.

The problem with this is that only certain drugs are legal (tobacco, alcohol, big-pharma, etc) while others are labelled illicit (marijuana, meth, cocaine, etc). The argument can be made that the effects and consequences of consuming the legal ones far outweigh the need to criminalize the illicit ones. But I digress…

While ALL these drugs obviously alter the behaviours of those taking them and create a situation where the state may (or may not) need to protect the public, the same cannot be said for the act of buggery. Who is the state protecting by criminalizing this act?

I wish I knew what you meant by your statement. I’m not gay, but I’m willing to bet that the majority of gay men aren’t attracted to under-age boys, much in the same way the the majority of straight men aren’t attracted to under-age girls.

So I’m not sure where kids come into play here. This issue is about consenting males engaging in an act that’s frowned upon by most in our society. Does this act deserve to be criminalized simply because it’s considered taboo?

Straight men and women engage in BDSM practices and I’m sure most strict Christians would be strongly against these acts. But should BDSM be criminalized too?

Come on. Let’s first admit that WE choose what’s moral and what’s accepted in society. Please stop pretending that we’re going solely on what the Bible says.

Please stop interpreting scripture. Men being lovers of themselves does mean the will love their own self in other words men will be selfish. it does not “clearly state” as you say men loving men and women loving women.

According to the bible homosexuality is an abomination unto the lord but so is a haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers, sacrifice of the wicked (a sacrifice made by a wicked person)Those of crooked heart, thoughts of the wicked … the list goes on.

They do go after the Catholic Church and will want the church to marry them. I heard on US Catholic Radio that a few of them went to a Catholic Church, dressed in a rainbow color (it appears that is their color) and during Holy Communion they went down the isle to the priest expecting to receive Holy Communion. From there I expect the priest just ignored them or probably gave them a blessing :) – that they might change and conform to the Holy Will of God.
They are bold faced people. They want everyone and everything to change for them. God will take care of them in time. I do not want to judge them but they will deeply regret it on Judgment Day. In fact, when they close their eyes for the last time on earth.

i Agree with marx, the bishop had more to say on this topic, where he stated that what is wrong is wrong period. Where are we going ad a country, dnt we have enough problems to deal with. This is an abomination to the lord and legalizing it wud risk the wrath of the Almighty Father upon us. Just because they call it human rights and pretend dats its normal doesn’t make it right. It is wrong period, no justifications just like murder is wrong with no justifications.

Please Please don’t take what the Bishop said out of context. You just want your rights. If this is legalized then we should not abide under any laws in Dominica everything else should be legalized like Marijuana, prostitution, rape, murder because wrong is wrong. You can’t legalize one and not the other. Giving you all rights will never justify what God has spoken against fellow Gay men… if you all have understanding you all will think twice.

If you read what the Bishop said, you will realise that Miridom just took the parts that suited them out of context. Yes, a homosexual is a person with rights, but so is a paedophile. You cannot, for example, deny either of them a job because of their ‘tendencies,’ but,it doesn’t mean that you condone their activities because you don’t discriminate against them.

    • May 24, 2013

Morihei: I thought Bishop Malzair’s response to the statement from the Vatican was well written and articulate. In it he showed two things (1) The church wants the decriminalizaton of consensual homosexual acts between adults. People guilty of such behaviour should not be charged and tried in the courts. (2) The church still believes that homosexual activity is sinful. Same sex “marriages” cannot and will not be approved by the church. I expressed my appreciation to the Bishop for (2). I told him I took issue with (1) Of course it will not make any difference to Bishop Malzaire what I say and he may not read my comments. He has a job to do for his church and he is doing it well. But I am writing for others like yourself who care enough to take a stand against the incoming tide. Here is the problem with the statement from the Vatican as the Bishop has explained it. (A) Decriminalization (doing away with the laws against consensual homosexual behaviour among adults) is the first step towards legalization. Once sodomy is no longer against the law and no longer prosecuted in the courts homosexual activists will move quickly towards having same sex marriages legalized and securing adoption rights along with other rights. (B) When even even one alternative to the traditional, Biblical, church sanctioned model of marriage is legalized the government is putting itself in a position where it MUST legalize other types of marriages or be charged with DISCRIMINATING against other minorities or special interest groups. Countries that have legalized same sex marriage are already hearing rumbings fom those who want polygamous marriages. Then there will be those who want brother – sister marriages and others who want parent – adult child marriages. It will begin by decriminalizing these relationships, in other words by simply dropping the laws against them, and progress to where they can be legal marriages. C) God has given human governments the authority and responsibility to impliment HIS laws in their rule of the nations. Government officials in the Bible are referred to as the ministers (servants) of God, set in place by Him, to govern according the Word of God. We find this in Romans 13:1-7. What the Bible says about homosexuality has been clearly understood by all Christian nations for hundreds of years and their governments have had laws in place forbidding such behaviour. Because the Word of God in no uncertain terms places this responsibliy upon our governments I must respectfully disagree with the Bishop when he says homosexual acts must not be treated as crimes to be punished by civil authorities. It is a sign the Catholic Church has lost much of the influence it once had in the world when it does a flip-flop like this. Even Catholic nations have ignored their church and pushed same sex marriage through. This compromise is a effort of the church to avoid losing more members and have the best working relationship possible with the civil governments. I expect it is an embarrassment to bishops world wide who must explain it – not only to their priests – but to the secular media. Once the faithful are able to grasp the significance of it many will feel betrayed. It will result in some reading their Bibles and discovering that it is Christ – and Christ alone – they can trust for their salvation, John 10:9, John 14:6, Acts 4:6. It is all because He paid the penalty for our sins in full by His death on the cross, John 19:30, Romans 5:6,8. It comes by believing, not by our own good works, John 3:16, Acts 10:43, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9! Instead of depending on any church to stop this onslaught of evil people of faith must pray. But they should also find out before election time where their political candidates stand on the matter of decriminalizing homosexual behaviour and (if it comes to it) legalizing same sex marriage. I cannot tell you who to vote for. But I can encourage you to vote for the person or persons whose stand for God and righteousness! One thing your pastor or priest can do for you and the nation is find out who these candidates are and make that information available to you. ASK HIM TO DO IT! A few zealous workers in each church or parish could turn things around. All it takes for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing! Don`t let it happen. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist. http://www.livinghopeministries.ca
