A Chinese Medical Team of Specialists will soon be on the island to commence work at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).
The team comprises of specialists in the field of Medical Oncology, General Surgery, Cardiovascular Medicine and Ophthalmology.
A contract was signed between the Government of Dominica and the Government of the People’s Republic of China signed on Wednesday at the Acute Psychiatric Unit Conference Room of the PMH for the team to begin work here.
“The main objective of the Chinese Medical Team is to strengthen capacity at major departments of the Princess Margaret Hospital working in close cooperation with the Dominican medical professionals in terms of clinical exchange,” Health Minister Kenneth Darroux said.
He stated that the Chinese Medical Team will add value to the services which will be offered at the New National Hospital, which is presently under construction.
“Under this agreement, this support of the Chinese government will compliment the significant infrastructural development of the New National Hospital,” he said.
He said the areas of specialization are critical and are required in Dominica’s health system and this is not the first instance where Dominica has had a team of medical specialists.
“You would recall we would have similar Chinese medical missions in the past at the PMH and more recently we had a medical team on island undertaking eye surgeries working in close collaboration with our local ophthalmologist,” said Dr. Darroux.
Meantime, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Dominica, Lu Kun said the agreement forms part of the friendly relations between the two nations.
“Today I think is a very important occasion to demonstrate the friendly relations between China and the Commonwealth of Dominica,” he stated.
He said for several years the Chinese government has attached great importance to the medical corporation between two countries.
Ambassador Kun said in the past six years the Chinese government has already sent several Chinese medical specialists to Dominica.
“I think that after the completion of the New National Hospital we will also continue to send more Chinese medical specialists working in Dominica,” he remarked.

I can only hope that the Youth who traveled to different countries to study in the medical field can find a job here upon return…I personally know of a few who couldnt get a job here and had to live…now they are making it well outside of Dominica…. support local…………give the locals a chance to bloom….

On the bright side, this can be a blessing to us. Everybody should watch those Chinese fake food videos on facebook and eat your local natural foods. Those who can grow your own food do so and feed each other. We can grow rice, veggies, fruits, provisions, etc. Who needs the Chinese??? Only Skerrit!!!

When i was in China the people there often told me that black people are considered dirty because of our skin color. They treated me like a second class person and often refereed to me as a subhuman/not fully human. Bananas were thrown at my feet when i walked in certain areas and even my so called friends from the university stoop to trying to get me to use skin lightening creams to look more white. I am back home and will never in my life accept treatment from a Chinese doctor in my own country. Are there no Dominican Doctors who can do these jobs? Are we that blind to not see that these people are coming to take over our country little by little? If we Dominicans do not stop this then it will be one death of our people after another with these guys. CHINESE PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE. Just ask them yourselves , they will tell you right to your face. ask any Chinese person in Dominica if they will date a black person and be shocked.

When I lived in China as a student people would come up to me and touch my skin to see if I was real. In Shanghai, a woman offered me a cleaning bowl to get the blackness off.
When I was invited to the home of my university tutor, his family took turns to touch my behind. When I asked why they were doing so, he apologised and said his kids wanted to find and enquired how I kept it tucked in so well.
The Chinese are not our friends. The country is a severe dictatorship with huge poverty problems and a talent for repression of its people, hence Skerrit’s adoration of its leaders.
They will be immune from any malpractice. Go figure why. If you accept a gift you cannot blame the donor if the gift messes you up.

The PM and other minsters will continue to fly out for their treatment while those that haven got the money will be probe by those Chinese Doctors, and another problem do they speak English and will they be going around with interpreters , and is that how Dominica health system have become we need help. What type of medication will my people be getting and are we going to see more Chinese huts spreading around the Island with little tea cups and other thing we just have to be careful.
Before any Dominican agrees to get treated by a Chinese doctor, let us have proof that our Lord and Master and his rich cabinet friends and their families are going to PHM and getting the same treatment from the doctors that they want us to take.

This is very good news for the healthcare system and the people who stand to benefit from these services. However, I am curious to know whether the high tech equipment necessary for the kind of work they do are available at the Princess Margaret Hospital, are these same experts bringing them , or are there plans to procure them? Your PM have the funds to purchase those same equipment for the hospital he just have to stop giving you and others the CBI money because it’s needed for the development of the Island and not to put in the pocket of his supporters

Saw a picture that someone took of a departure tax stub dated May 10th 2017 and the amount therein was $45.00 – Security Tax $5.00 and Embarkation Tax $40.00. There is need for a full official explanation. Was it started and then pulled back. Somebody has to provide that kind of information. Government must learn from the PR disaster that was linked to the CBI. In the absence of clear and precise information, people are left to speculate.

It would be a good idea and helpful for you to learn the Chinese language.
From what I have heard, Chinese doctors are intelligent, proficient and reliable. They are well-versed in medicine. They may not give patients medication which is not suitable for them.
Granted, they are not miracle workers. Nationals must take charge of their health and eat and drink nutritiously to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This does not change.
Observe the Chinese eating habits, a lot of vegetables. The majority of them are slim. I cannot recall seeing any overweight.
Obesity is a a huge problem in China (pardon the pun- unintended). Their medicines are great for curing whatever you have ailing you, but totally destroying your liver in the process.
They are experimenting with anti-biotics which are nano-bots (small machines) that will get into your body and from a controlling computer outside, can be directed to kill whatever the computer tells it to kill in your body.
They already think we are monkeys, join the dots. Incidentally, their doctors are excellent at amputations – very good at it. Check out the number of guys in Dominica who may need that troubling limb excised. Join the dots and invest in wheelchairs.

There are as many born Dominicans specialists in the such field of medicine working treating patients with such issues in the United States, some have offered their services to our people for free, Darroux and Skerrit, and the rest of the labor party puppets decline their services, now they are bring Chines quacks in the country to do as they have done in Afghanistan!
By the time they are finished in Dominica let’s see how many of our people will die from malpractice?
