This very informative and inter-active workshop on Cancer (Breast and Prostate) was also addressed by the president of the Cancer Society, Mrs. Vinna Royer and Vice-President/PRO Fr. Franklyn Cuffy, C.Ss.R.
Those present were notified that “World No Tobacco Day was carded for Monday 31 May, 2010. Under the theme: “Gender and Tobacco with an emphasis on Marketing to women”. However, plans were being made to observe the Day in Dominica on Sunday 6, June. This will be a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Health, the City Council and the Dominica Cancer Society inc. among others.
It is hoped that the Government of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skeritt will take this opportunity to give an update of its intention to ban smoking in public.
Invitations were also extended to the Dominica Cancer Society 20TH. Anniversary Non-denominational Candle-Light Service, which will be held on Sunday 13 June, 2010. At Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral, Roseau.
Breast examination does not prevent breast cancer. Get the garbage out of the food and drinks and then you may have a chance at prevention. Carcinogenic substances are purposely put in cigarettes. If you roll your own tobacco and it doesn’t have pesticides on it, you may be in better shape.
