Public awareness campaigns on drug abuse continues

The National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit (NDAPU) recognizing that almost if not every community is impacted by the negative effects of drug use and abuse continues its public awareness campaign.

This activity will take the form of  a Public Community Outreach Programme.  This programme is geared towards empowering our community residents with knowledge that will be useful in helping them take the lead in ridding their communities of drugs. The activity will be observed under the theme Responsibility:  The key to being drug free”

This is an annual activity organized by the National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit in collaboration with stakeholders of the selected communities. The community of La Plaine has been identified to hold such an activity which is carded for Wednesday July 21, 2010 from 6:30pm at the Bus shelter at Willie’s Junction.

The National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit invites the entire community of La Plaine to turn out in large numbers to the activity since this will be a golden opportunity for interaction between the staff of the unit, stakeholders of the community and the residents.
