Three for global diabetes congress in Australia

diabetesThe President of the Dominica Diabetes Association (DOMDA), Marvlyn Birmingham, Treasurer, Lennox St Aimee and Elinora Lambert of Ross University, are expected to leave Dominica on Thursday, 28th November for Melbourne, Australia, to participate in the Annual International Diabetes Congress.

The congress will be held from 2 – 6 December, 2013, under the theme: Diabetes Education and Prevention. It will be hosted by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

In the meantime, the over 530 Diabetics, Families and Friends of the Parish of St Paul’s and St Ann’s are invited to a Healing Mass to be held today Wednesday (27 Nov.), at the St Martin de Porres Chapel, Canefield starting at 6:00 pm.

The Parish Priest, Fr. Franklyn Cuffy C.S.s.R. will be the presider and homilist.

The mass forms part of activities in observation of World Diabetes Month in Dominica which will culminate on Saturday November 30, with the carrying of the “Blue Circle”, diabetes symbol across country.

This event is being coordinated by the Dominica National Youth Council, headed by Jahisiah Benoit.

This Diabetes Cross Country will begin and end at the All Saints University School of Medicine Health Fair.
