On a hot, summer Friday night hundreds of parishioners turned out for a Memorial Mass held for Deacon Kevin Bellot, C.Ss.R at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Boston, MA.
Fr. Denise Sweeney who had traveled to Dominica for the funeral delivered a tearful experience of the outpouring of love for Kevin and family. He remarked on the sympathy extended to him by the immigration officer and how remarkable it was to experience the entire island mourning for a son of the soil.
The life of Deacon Kevin was also celebrated by the Dominican community and friends at St. Katherine Drexel Church, Dorchester, MA on Friday, June 22, 2012 with Fr. Michael Davidson from Jamaica as celebrant.
Mamah Joseph rendered the Magnificat, one of Kevin’s favorite pieces.
Kevin and his cousin, Wilma Bellot Thomas shared a sense of humor which evident during the celebration.
Deacon Bellot died suddenly on June 10 while doing ministry in St. Lucia.

Sorry I missed this beautiful Service. I would have loved to attend. Wilma and her sisters are my cousins but on the other side of one of my parents. She knows me but at this time will not divulge any more. When I meet her or speak to her I will inform her. Her sister resides in Toronto and we spoke about Deacon Kevin.
Deacon Kevin Bellot you are being missed by all and will always be remembered specifically by your dear mother and other members of your family. You are resting in God’s love, glory and peace. This is a consolation for them and all those who knew you.
May The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, loved, praised by everyone at all times with grateful affection in all the Tabernacles of the world even until the end of time. Amen!
Deacon Bellot is singing His praises, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, all Three in One – The Blessed Trinity.
R.I.P. Deacon Bellot. With the help of God, we hope to join you on that day. O Happy Day!
