Fidel Castro, the Cuban despot who famously proclaimed after his arrest in a failed coup attempt that history would absolve him, has died aged 90.
Castro’s brother and the nation’s President of several years, Raul, announced his death Friday on Cuban TV.
At the end, an elderly and infirm Castro was a whisper of the Marxist firebrand whose iron will and passionate determination bent the arc of destiny.
“There are few individuals in the 20th century who had a more profound impact on a single country than Fidel Castro had in Cuba,” Robert Pastor, a former national security adviser for President Jimmy Carter in the 1970s, told CNN in 2012.
“He reshaped Cuba in his image, for both bad and good,” said Pastor, who died in 2014.
All dictators are cowards. They are not able to operate simply and naturally on their own. Thus, they sell their soul to Lucifer to protect and keep them in power for as long as they wish. Only the anointing from the Holy Ghost can break and over-come their powers. These are real evil men from inside out.
Well said johnathan st.jean!!!!
Great man…. Stood up to the wicked Americans for all them years… Seriously an over 50 years embargo for what reason??????
Great men liberates their people; Not the other way around. You must be a Schmuck!!!!
Good riddance you …..you executed my family and there children my cousin was 12 years old hope u and Che will burn in hell for the 14,000 people you killed with your secret police in just your first year after the revolution may the blood of all
those you killed forever haunt you.
Castro will be processed the same way as many who die before the rapture. How we live on earth will determine our position in eternal life,,,, whichever it is. Repent!
Some people are very selfish to their death. If a leader of a country is a dictator and ill treats his people; He becomes a good man to people of a different country by donating hand-outs and crumbs to them, while his people suffer and perish. Dominicans are such selfish people; Only looking out for themselves. Don’t forget; We are our brother’s keeper.
Some people accomplished more in their death, than in their lifetime. Look now he has “liberated” his people. Arise, people of Cuba – Dominica will soon Arise; Not long again.
WE love Dno. Technical Difficulties, not a word Re; their comments button. we all going to Cuba. see us in nine Days.
Thank you Castro for everything ….. RIP
Did Castro answer you? You must shout a little louder!!!!!
A leader the world will remember !
WE always remember the bad, not the good. Evil
Man.
We have lost the greatest. RIP Castro I LOVE YOU..
A dictator is a dictator, doesn’t matter whether right-wing or left-wing. Castro has finally departed. Viva Cuba libre! Let Skerrit fly his flag, I won’t.
Fidel Castro was not a despot,to the majority of the Cuban people. They supported his overthrow of the Batista brutal regime, which made it a popular uprising.Following the success of the coup, the USA did everything it could to get the people’s liberation to fail, withthe strangling embargo, propaganda, attempted assassination, attempted invasion, blockade etc.The same way the US refused to assist the Haitian revolution, because they felt threatened by the possibility of a successful overthrow they did not plot and control themselves.Without the foolish embargo, which forced Castro to consolidate power to secure the gains that had been made by using desperate measures at times,Just like the US used desperate measures in Fallujah,Iraq,to help consolidate the gains it had made soon after the Iraqi invasion,Castro recognized and gave recognition to homosexuality in Cuba before the US.He invested in his people’s education and health care as best he could despite the challenges.
Too many people ran away and imprisoned, meaning they did not have a voice and a chance to challenge Castro. I admit his heart was in the right place, what we are critical of is the murder and imprisonment of people who differed. We do not want it for Dominica why excuse it and condone blindly for Cuba. I supported the revolution and yes Batista was a bastard, but we have to come better when we go into the revolution business, and not like Batista….I don\’t even want to read or hear Skerrit talk about Castro, that will be and is a pappy show.
Castro was a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades.” “Fidel Castro’s legacy is of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty, and the denial of fundamental human rights.
Trump should reverse President Barack Obama’s historic rapprochement between Havana and Washington.
Rip you were a good man to Dominica
Ten hut! I salute you.
The demise of a tyrant!
I doubt there will be many people shedding tears over the demise of that tyrannic dictator; millions of Cubans has suffered agonizing pain caused by Fidel and communism. As such the world, especially the Cubans will not morn his demise.
Freedom in a sense has come for the people of Cuba, and one hope that his brother will abolish the remains of communism in Cuba, and ensure full democracy in that country!
Keep Dreaming. if it walks like a duck, rule like a duck, comes from a duck Family. Its a Dam Duck. The only hope is the voice of the people is the voice of God. It`s closer that we think, stay awake Dominica. opinion Expressed is not that of D.N. O. but still moderate.
As long as the common citizen has hopes, and dreams, and aspirations beyond government handouts, Socialism will never be a viable economic solution. Now Castro and Chavez can use their eternity to turn Hell into the Socialist Utopia that they longed for on earth.
Thousands of Cuban Americans lined the streets of Little Havana in South Florida on Saturday morning. According to them, they are celebrating not the death of a human being, but the death of a wicked man, the death of a dictator. Hold tight Dominicans, our turn will come, some day.
God is the ultimate Judge. We all have to give an account of our life and the impact our actions had on others.
one million Cubanz in the streets on Calle Oche south Florida celebrating in little Havana, cannot be wrong, I am 100% with them, celebrating the death of Adolf Hitler, go to channel 7 Fox WPLG Miami, marpin 18, that is ecstasy, jubilation, what sad day my ass.

Death of a Dictator
The Death of Fedel will invoke The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Choose yours. In my opinion, the knowledge and what ever Legacy, he will leave behind, will be itched in thr history Books. Who feels it knows it lord! It is appointed, Death is certain, regardless of who, or What we think of ourself. I Rest!!!
Fidel Castro was a true hero in that he focused his life on education , health and social justice. Unlike many leaders today did not live his life chasing after a big house or a big car. He opened the door of Cuba to the less fortunate and educated people from all over the Americas and the farthest reaches of the globe. And to see we have the richest country in the world opposing Cuba and yet they failed to do half of what the Cubans did with the little they had. Castro in his giving exemplified Christ in that he took the few fish and loaves of bread available for his people and multiplied it and shared it with the multitudes. Other countries will spend billions making war, Cuba spent its modest millions fighting illiteracy and eradicating disease. What a legacy of a true Hero. May he see God.
WELL SAID!!!!!
Well, he was very wealthy man, lived like an aristocrat on his very rich family estate, big house to the last day. Brutality killed, executed, impoverished his own people to the same as Batista the ruthless dictator. Castro was right to oust him but you have to show better.
We need Skerrit to go too, soon, before he economically reduces Dominica to same level of poverty and begging and dependency. Although Cuba has good medical and education facilities, The Castro brothers and their regime had no right to mentally and physically imprison their own people. The end of the Castro regime & communism as we know it and see it now will disappear in 10 years. Raul has given notice he will be gone when he is 90yrs old, in 3 three years time. Who is going support Cuba, Capitalist China, with a communist ruthless Politburo. Soviet bloc gone, now remaining communist states dropping one by one. Soon the capitalist Dictators, disguised as socialist (Like Chavez) will soon be gone. Skerrit! U soon.
There is only ONE STRONG MAN. And He is my Eternal Father, The All Mighty God. That’s why I’m not afraid of no self made, man made little gods installed by man. I’m an heir of God; and joint heir with Christ. The simple man is not able to understand that unless he s born again. “The stone which the builder refused; has become the head of the corner.” The Almighty God is the only hope for mankind; but they rather go the way of Cain. God alone, is the Ultimate Ruler. All else are as a simple cloud.
RIP to a great visionary world leader.
Long live, Fidel! This man did more for black people than Europe and America ever will! He stood up for change and taught us the importance of sharing. May he rest peacefully with the other legends like Dr. King, Malcolm X; all of whom stood against Europeans’ ideology of imperialism, waste, and wars.
Absolutely right and we should not forget!
He executed and cause many to migrate…..Is that good…..was that good?
Captitalism rising in America under trump while communism dying like Castro in Cuba all we need now is a Marie Le Pen of France and Capitalism will be back in force in the world. Long Live the Free Market, Long Live Ludwig Von Mises.
RIP Great Giant. One can surely say you have fought the fight.
Communism
i hope my name on his will
