Six years after becoming the first Kalinago to become a practicing attorney in Dominica, Pearl Williams has again made history when she took her oath of office and was sworn in as a Magistrate in Dominica by the President of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin on Monday.
In October 2010, Williams a graduate of the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School and the daughter of Kalinago Chief Charles Williams, took her oath as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court.
Williams attended the St. Martin’s Primary School and then moved on to the Convent High School after which she attended the Clifton Dupigny Community College.
She is a recipient of the Sir Arthur Lewis Indigenous Scholarship programme from the University of the West Indies where she obtained her Bachelors in Law (LLB).
She then went on to obtain her Legal Education Certificate (LEC) at the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago and graduated on October 3, 2009.
Before being called to the Bench she was attached to the Attorney General’s chambers in Dominica as a State attorney. This brings the complement of magistrates in Dominica to seven, according to Chief Magistrate Candia Carette George.
Well done Pearl! Keep striving, keep growing. Gods bless you.

Congrats to the young lady!!
six (6) years, too me she is till inexperience and in the embryo stage of the legal system, bad timing, she is too inexperience for the bench, come on man, what are you guys doing?, she has not learnt half of what is required yet, dumb move.
You have a major problem. How do people gain experience? How did anyone in the past gained experience? You should know it is by practicing that one gains experience. Your comment is ridiculous.
It is simple and gracious to congratulate her and wish her all the best.
