Former Prime Minister, Patrick John, has undergone knee surgery in Martinique and is said to be doing well.

The surgery was done on Tuesday, January 26.

His wife, Desiree John, who is with him, said he is presently in the ‘recovery room’ and is stable.

“As of tonight (January 26), he is in the recovery room and I visited him under strict sanitization,” she stated. “He is stable, talking and did not show any signs of discomfort.”

She also disclosed that he was spending the night in the “recovery room” for proper monitoring of his heart and will be transferred to the ward on Wednesday morning (January 27).

“He sends his best wishes to all Dominicans and ask to lift him up in your prayers as he goes through this transition,” his wife said.

She is also thanking all who have assisted in one way or another and also for “your continued prayers from December 29 2015.”

“It has not been an easy road but thanks to all,” she noted.

John was airlifted to Martinique earlier this month to undergo treatment for heart problems.

I was young in the time of P.J. He made some wrong choices; But I’d rather live in a P.J rule Dominica than the one all you have now. P.J was a people’s person. I used to walk the streets with no lead on me. Now? I walk with lead and copper; and some brass.

What is going on? First we heard he was going to come back to Dominica the week before last and saying he could not travel by ferry. That trip in the flying tractor ambulance better then? I know it costs more money but I have a feeling mr. John does not want to travel with common people and must have plane.Nobody saying anything about knee and we getting so called update that was no update at all.. Was that the plan all along, to have an overhaul at the tax payer expense and a sweet stay in Martinique? I wish mr. John well but I do not like it when a story is not straight so. mr. John up to his old tricks then? Get better soon and come and suffer with us poor people in Dominica.

Mr. John is taking advantage of the good service in Martinique killing 2 birds with 1 stone as we know he always had knee problem from his football days let the man enjoy his rest and get well.

General over-hall? Why did England not leave us under Mr. Frank? I mean France… De British jus abandon us and left us only with “names!” Like, Princess Margaret Hospital (who is she anyway?) Then, King George street, money saying “Queenzabeth the III.” Come on England! you took all our banana and told us how much you will pay us per pound – Didn’t allow us to set a price for our product. Then you discouraged our farmers by rejecting 65% of our fruit before it boarded the boat (Geese boat). Since then, we’ve had people like the Taiwanes and the Chinese just playing us. Look China wants us to believe that their pineapple is better than ours! Come-on! Then, un top of that, we go out on the streets every year celebrating our “INDEPENDENCE.” What powerful brainwash
