Judy Sango to undergo surgery

Judy at the Princess Margaret Hospital awaiting surgery

Judy Sango, the little girl from Portsmouth who dreams of becoming a judge but is suffering from a severe disability in her leg, is expected to undergo surgery at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday.

She was admitted to the facility on Tuesday.

The surgery is expected to lengthen the veins in her legs.

Judy has been unable to attend school since last Monday as her legs have been locking up, rendering her totally immobile.

She is suffering from damage to one of her legs due to deprivation of oxygen at birth.

The 11-year-old was first featured on Dominica News Online in March when Drinnon Nyerere, an aspiring documentary film maker and Founder of InsidePossie Children of Grace Foundation Inc, decided to make a documentary on Judy’s life.

He hopes funds raised from the documentary will go towards rectifying the problem in her leg.

Speaking to Dominica News Online on Wednesday Nyerere said the surgery at the hospital is being done for free but doctors have determined Judy is going to need hip surgery.

To defray the cost of the surgery Nyerere and the InsidePossie Children of Grace Foundation Inc have started a fund raising drive to assist Judy.

He hopes to make the dreams of the little girl who wants to be a judge come true.

Below is the information for those who want to assist.

So much negativity where the hospital is concerned. I don’t think they would attempt this at the PMH if they were not sure what they were doing? All the best to you my dear child hope this will be the start to a wonderful recovery for you. Jehovah’s guidance be upon you and all the doctors who now have you in their hands.

I AM APREHENSIVE OF THIS EXPERIMENTATION OF THIS
PROMISING, AMBITIOUS LITTLE GIRL HAVING THIS OPERATION IN DOMINICA. DO THEY HAVE THAT EXPERTISE
IN THE COUNTRY? I WILL BE SAYING A PRAY FOR THIS LOVELY LITTLE GIRL THAT EVERYTHING WILL WORK FOR THE GOOD IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS. I KNOW THAT MANY DOCTORS LIKE TO EXPERIMENT ON THE LESS FORTUNATES
IN THE NAME OF REGOGNITION. I PRAY AND HOPE THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE.

Best wishes to that little girl but in another note… can you all stop being so pessimistic. Dominica like everywhere else has its faults. There might not be the proper equipment to do certain procedures but it gives you all no right to be looking down on your country like that. As a Registered Nurse in the US i know that America make mistakes and have caused the death of many people with all the well educated medical Doctors that are there. If the Doctor could not do the surgery he would not take the chance. So be more optimistic people. You all should go study medicine so that Dominica can have better Doctors and nurses if you all are so critical.

we dominicans are so negative. instead of giving thanks and praise and hhope that all goes well, there is a negative talk. why all the negative people don’t donate the money for the surgery else where. Mishap happens in the big country as well. In surgery is always a fifty, fifty chance. With surger you never now what you may find. Lets just pray that everything work out for the best for the young lady, we like to cry our people down to fast and when we leave and go other place and our love ones pass we say something else. Nice of the doctors doing the surgery for free. May the mighty hand of the almighty streched on them and this little girl. Amen

I really don’t think that Dominica is the right place to do this operation. this place have a record of doing more harm than good, for God sake can people come together and help this little girl go to Guadeloup or even America,am truly afraid for this little child,I feel she might never live her dreams.this people don’t know a thing. you go the the hospital for a headache or even chest pain and they can even help you please.may God help this little angel.

      Sandy Thompson,
I sincerely hope you do not reside in Dominica and will never fall ill on this island where you will be required to go to PMH. Since you seem to have issue as to where the surgery should be done, why don’t you take the initiative and finance fully the cost of her surgery overseas as you suggest?

My dear Judy you are bless! Be strong in the Lord.
My concerns are this surgery needs to be done by a
pediatric orthopedic. Why wasn’t a referral done for you to have this surgery out of the island.
When a child needs orthopaedic surgery or a diagnostic procedure, Miami Children’s Hospital has pediatric orthopaedic surgeons, pediatric radiologists, and pediatric anesthesiologists who specialize exclusively in the care of children. This creates an environment that is comfortable and safe for your child. Proper care and treatment adds longer life to your health. Some of the things that are look for:-
Limb deformities and limb length discrepancies
Hip disorders (hip dysplasia, Perthes disease)

    Rehabilitation:
    OUTPATIENT PROCEDURES:- MOTION EXERCISES

The initial focus is to regain full extension (the ability to fully straighten) of the knee. In general, flexion (ability to bend) is much easier to regain than extension. In general, flexion (ability to bend) is much easier to regain than extension.

Judy Sango, in the name of “Jesus”, who died on the cross for you, and took this very condition away from you then, therefore, it is gone now. The Lord, now blesses your legs, that they are supernaturely healed. You will now grow up, to fulfill God’s original plans and purposes, for which you were born. Write your dream done, and see it manifest in the future.

Once again, you are blessed of the Lord, for you were fairly, and wonderfully made. Psalms 139:14.

      April 26, 2012

Wait your turn. Hope you will take that advise for yourself if/when the time comes.
Instead of saying a prayer for a successful operation, you’re being negative.
We may not be the best. and yes, our hospital is not top notch, but we have surgeons who are as good as any surgeon in top notch hospitals. Quite a few lives have been saved here, so get off it and be more positive.
Better yet, sponsor this child and her mother in full for surgery overseas where her life will not be ruined further as you put it….
