The Kiwanis Club of Waitukubuli in its effort to spread Mother’s Day love donated three hampers to a needy mum in Goodwill.

Patricia Blaize is a single mother of thee children.

One of the children suffers from mental disabilities and due to the fact that she cannot afford proper care for the child, Blaize is unemployed.

In a release the club said it decided to present three hampers to the family instead of just one because there was a need to separate the items of food, toiletries and clothing.

“Although the Kiwanis Club of Waitukubuli focuses its service efforts on children, it must not be forgotten that if there were no mothers, there would be no children to serve,” the club said. “It was a pleasure assisting a very loving mother living through some very difficult circumstances and the Kiwanis Club of Waitukubuli wishes to thank REACH for assisting in this venture.”

Blaize expressed her heartfelt thanks numerous times to the Kiwanis Club of Waitikubuli, emphasising how much the assistance meant to her.

The Kiwanis Club of Waitukubuli is a service club in Dominica whose motto is “Changing the world one child and one community at a time”.

Annual events undertaken by the Club is the annual Easter Bonnet Parade & Christmas Party for needy children.

I prefer the term mentally challenged rather than disabled. These kids can do a lot more than er think but u.fortunately er do not have the resources to assist in their development
