Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, has announced the birth of his third child; a “bouncing baby girl.”
The Prime Minister’s wife, Melissa Skerrit, gave birth to the couple’s second child last evening.
In a brief statement on Thursday morning, Skerrit said both mother and baby are in good health.
He is expected to return to Dominica this weekend to attend and address the annual Independence Day festivities at the the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
Skerrit left Dominica on October 15 to join his wife in New York, who was set to give birth to their second child.

Admin I wrote a comment about giving birth in hospitals in New Jersey, and New York it is deleted. The fact is when children are born in these hospitals, it is mandatory for them to receive the WIC stamps. These days they are issued a plastic card which looks like a credit card, that when one uses it to get nutrition such a milk it is not easily identifiable.
That is from the Welfare system, it all over the country, so if King Mountain Chicken Crapo children born in a hospital in New York where the first son was born, they cloud not have left there with a quaintly of WIC Stamps, if you do not believe you can stay in Dominica and research how the system works!
So, no point of deleting such comments because it is accurate!

I often wonder how much more Dominicans are willing to endure before realizing that their leadership is faulty to say the least. Alot of us keep crying about the hospital that we have but how many of are willing to bear the cost of the new one. We don’t even want to pay for basic services. If we catch a cold we run to the hospital, pitting pressure on the staff because we find that they are not quick enough to meet our needs and on top of that we do not even want to pay $5. We definitely need a better hospital but we also need a new mindset. We need to learn that there are costs to everything. When the new hospital comes and it is going to be properly maintained, it should be expected that there will be a drastic increase in cost. Reasons include the cost of new medical equipment and our population size. So let’s build it but let’s all be willing to maintain it. Use the private doctors instead of he er for everything.. Now if the pm’s wife who is an American citizen decides to have her baby in the us that is her choice. Now as to cost she would most likely have insurance which is required by law for…

As I put the two announcements side by side, I noticed the following which left me with some questions:
1. In the case of Dmitry we had detailed information from the Skerrits. WE had the name, time of birth, and weight of baby. Two years later, no such information was given. WHY Mr. Skerrit?
In the absence of information one is left to speculate. So here is my speculation:
Apart from Mr. Skerrit might not be in a good frame of mind this time around, I also suspect that he might not have been anywhere close to Mrs. Skerrit. Your guess is as good as mine.

Any man in his right mind would send his family to the US for medical care if he could afford it and could get the immigration clearance to do so. The PM has the immigration clearance by virtue of his political position in Dominica, but who paid for all this? Certainly this 6 week birthing process could not be considered “State business” and with travel costs, living expenses, and medical bills – the total must be upwards of $100,000 US. When Leblanc had his kids there were not so many hateful people who was a threat to their security and safety. Remember when Mrs Boyd-Knight had to decline to be President because she did not feel safe. The P M wife was acting on her motherly instinct to keep her baby safe…think about that.

According to you this was not so under Leblanc. If there is this hatred it can only be that it was engendered under, and by the rule of our current leader. That would be the logical conclusion. Congratulations to our first lady, our pm,and their families, on the occasion of the birth of their Bouncing baby Girl. As we make room for the incoming new generation, my hope is we will all pave a firm foundation for them to take over the mantle and continue the legacy we will all leave behind,laced wit Examples the will be proud to continue. Two boys one girl? the team is almost complte and is our hope our pm seek to complte the team equally. Two boys, Two Girls. it does not better than that. Predictions!! Becareful of what you say, from kindergarten we were taught that “birds of a feather, flock together”. But I still wonder how honest of a woman she is when she choose to build a life with such a person.
