Relatives of a Dominican, Brian Pacquette who is a police officer in St. Kitts and who was shot while on duty, are saying thank you to all those who have assisted him as he recovers from his injuries in Trinidad.
The relatives thanked the doctors, the police department in St. Kitts and all those who responded in one way or the other following the shooting.
“The family would like to thank the medical team of doctors, surgeons, and others, at West Shore Medical in Trinidad, who are taking care of Officer Brian Pacquette, for their dedication, excellent care and devotion to Brian,” a relative told DNO. “Brian has been richly blessed to have been placed in the care of such devoted and excellent professionals. We thank you, surgeons, doctors, nurses and others.”
The relatives also thanked the St. Kitts Police Department and Government for providing and continuing to provide medical care and attention for the injured officer.
“The St. Kitts Police Department has reached out to its brother department in Trinidad for blood donation and officers have responded. Thanks to members of the Trinidad Fire Department who have responded to the plea and donated blood,” the relative said. “The St. Kitts Police Department is in constant contact with the doctors and surgeons taking care of Officer Pacquette receiving updates on Brian’s progress. The St. Kitts Police Department has been in the forefront – it has paid transportation costs for representatives of Brian’s family (in the Caribbean) to be on his side and their accommodation in Trinidad. The St. Kitts PD is also in contact with a member of the family in Trinidad. The family applauds and thank the St. Kitts Police Department.”
They also thanked all those who donated blood to Pacquette and said more blood is needed.
“We would like the public to know that Brian has received about 92 units of blood and blood products. He has been receiving blood and blood products, ” the relative stated. “There is a continuing need for blood for Brian because of the nature of his injuries and the surgeons’ and doctors’ rigorous attempts to ensure that Brian is receiving the best care possible. We are continuing to ask Dominicans in Trinidad, family members of Dominicans in Trinidad, other Caribbean nationals, and Trinidadians to go to the blood bank on Charlotte Street and other blood banks to donate blood so the doctors and surgeons can continue to do their wonderful work for Brian. We are also asking for continued prayers on Brian’s behalf. Our thanks to all who have donated blood. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to donate.”
The relative said any blood type is welcomed and the blood bank will do the necessary paperwork.
Pacquette was shot when he and another officer went to investigate a larceny report in an area called Greenlands in St. Kitts recently. They saw a person of interest and attempted to search him, however, he reportedly resisted arrest and a scuffle ensued. During the scuffle, Pacquette, who has been in the St. Kitts Police Force for ten years, was shot in the leg.
He was flown to Trinidad for medical treatment and the leg has since been amputated.

To God give all the Glory. Brian be blesed. God will do the rest and complete what he has started.
Please do not forget the Harris side of the family who are male or the females who have other last names. It continues to be a concerted effort. I want to thank Cedric Harris for his selflessness in dedicating his time to being with Brian full-time while other members of the family do their share of being present. Cedric, ‘Thank you loads’. Thanks to Cedric’s wife and immediate family (children) for their understanding and support, we greatly appreciate that. May God continue to bless you.
To god be the glory. Glad this young man is doing well. His family is to be commended for the efforts they have made. Great Job to the Georges
