Ian Pinard is back

Pinard has been endorsed to contest the Soufriere constituency

Ian Pinard, the man who gave way in 2009 because of “health reasons” for Sam Martin to run as a candidate for the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) in the Soufriere/Scottshead/Gillion/Pointe Michel constituency, is back again in the political ring.

Reports indicate Pinard was endorsed in March to contest the constituency by DLP supporters.

Pinard himself has confirmed he has been endorsed as the DLP candidate.

“I have been endorsed as the candidate for the DLP in that constituency … I had stepped out because of health reasons but now I am fine and in good health,” he said.

According to reports there has been growing discontent among DLP supporters over Martin’s ‘non performance’ as a parliamentary representative.

This has increased over the past few months with some vowing “not to vote” if Martin remains the DLP candidate.

“Something has to be wrong …he (Pinard) left for health reasons and is now back. Is he much better now?” a DLP supporter asked. “The campaigning has gotten even more intense, so what is the difference now?”

“I am telling you that if Sam (Martin) remains as the DLP candidate for the upcoming elections I will not vote,” another supporter stated. “He has let us down and failed us and we want him replaced.”

Others are of the view that should the DLP continue with Martin, it would pave the way for an easy win by the United Workers Party (UWP) candidate, Higgs Adams.

When contacted by DNO on the matter, Martin shied away from questions.

“I am not aware of what you are speaking about…is that so?,” he responded. “Hmmmm.”

When pressed further Martin said, “I have nothing else to report to you.”

Well this is HUMILIATING FOR SAM.Sam fell into the trap of not knowing the type of person Skerrit is, before he said yes to contesting the seat IN 2009. Now he has been replaced by a recycled and sick man.
Sam needs to do like Urban Baron did, give his suppoert to UWP. IT’S THAT SIMPLE!

The people of the constituency need to think long and hard about their future. I don´t see Higgs as having any influence in the UWP so again, the constituency is going to be ignored if they were to elect Higgs as Parl REp. We need someone who understand the needs of the constituency and at the same time strong enough to make proper representation for resources from any govermenent in office. I would strongly recomend an independent candidate with strong negotiating skills for this constituency. For too long, we have been at the bottom of the list, taken for granted. We need to stop being the victim of partisan politics and rise to the occasion and bring true development to Scott´s head, Soufriere, Gallion and Pointe Michel. Ian failed, Frederick Baron Failed, Sam failed and Higgs will certainly fail. Wake up people and find someone of calibre who can stand up for your development, its time!

THAT’S WHY IT IS THE SKERRIT LED GOVERNMENT that needs to be removed from office.

“According to reports there has been growing discontent among DLP supporters over Martin’s ‘non performance’ as a parliamentary representative.”

Psychology plays in different forms; what is written above is a cheap disgusting peace of political rhetoric. Let me say here I am not playing politics to be loved, however, when I find such words I believe deduced only to captivate, and mesmerize the mind of the unsuspecting, I feel duty bound to exposed the purpose of such rhetoric!

We know for a fact that there are more than twenty ministers in this government, who’s main duty is to talk when they are permitted to do so; these people seems unable to use their own words, and own thoughts. If they are unable to use their very own thoughts, how on earth can one make the claim that Martin is a none productive parliamentary representative?

    That’s absurd and outright ridiculous!

Members of the party such as him has no power to dictate anything: they are just part of the covalent which binds the party as a majority. They lack authority to function, they do not have any say in decision making in the country, and that is why such people as my cousin Gloria Dods (Dodds) Shillingford in Wesley is unable to contribute anything significant in the constituency’s she is supposed to be representing!

The psychology here is this, they know if they place him on the ballet this season he is going to loose his seat to the opposing party; hence, if they brainwash the people in that constituency by saying he is not effective, and blame him for the lack of progress in that constituency, and replace him that may influence the people’s mind that his replacement is going to perform even the impossible, chances are they will vote for his replacement, thus retaining the seat!

I felt compelled to give my views on that, some will like it, others may wish to shoot me, but my purpose in life is not know the truth and conceal it, if I find the UWP in any sort of cynical or devious conduct as we see in the quote above; I will expose it the same way.

Everybody need to come clean with the truth!

Sam passing people in the constituency straight with his glass well dax and wined up. He has not been involving in any thing that is going on in the community, kept himself reserved, avoiding the people. Even meetings you would invite him to and he would not come. He had a very good chance to prove himself, but he thinks because he is fro d area he can take people for granted. He hold no meetings with his constituents so they can bring their concerns. He is off every thursdays and you still will not see him. He refuses to answer calls from the same people who voted him. Pinard has never been that type of person. Sam must go, i do not care who they send.

I like that, I really like that. While them fellars are concerning themselves about the next Prime Minister, Mr. Lennox Linton, there is fighting inside their camp like wild dogs. In Portsmouth , we heard about the split concerning the Douglas boys. In the Goodwill constituency, Cecil not letting go. In the Coulihaut constituency more baybar. Last year we heard of Mervin’s intentions to push Regie aside. It is rumored, Williams believes George cannot beat Joshua Francis, therefore, she feels as a woman their will be more sympathy for her. The tower of Babylon is beginning to crack, therefore, General Election must be called as soon as possible to avoid more damage.

Another constituency shows its disappointment with its MP. i will say this, when the MPs agree with the PM that the only reason they won was because of him what do you expect. Skeritt is minister of sports, health, welfare, foriegn affairs, security, and finance. We have a leader obsessed with himself and what he accomplishes personally and the other ministers are so weakend that they a rendered ineffective. This was diliberately done in his last cabinet shuffle. There is an old saying ” two heads are better than one”. Where else can you see multi million dollar infrastructure being built in a country, 90% of the workers are non nationals which means that money gone out of country, increase welfare recipients, -2% growth, non parliamentary approved spending, and the list goes on. Yet the Government boast “Skeritt is effective.

I hear nothing about trade agreements with china, venezuela, morrocco, cuba and the likes, neither do i see increase cruise ship an tourism arrivals from these countries. All i hear is grants and loans. We go to Cubaand denounce the US, a country we depend on for tourism dollars and for giving birth to our babies because we do not trust our own hospital and medical staff.

When you people will realize this madness going on it may be to late. Love your country not party. Its time for a new direction. I am no party lover and say its time for Ali Baba to go. If the uwp comes and do not make the right choices to put my beloved country on the right path then i will be the first to ask for a change. We will know when civil servants can get 3% annual raise, when young people can get out of their parents home and own one of there own, when the private sector, agri, manufacturing, and eport is booming, and we do not have to get grants and loans to build infrastructure.

I am really sick and tired of this corrupt, evil, wicked, dangerous and destructive gang which goes by the name of a Labour Party, recycling candidates and insulting the people’s intelligence into believing that with a recycled candidate representing the same WICKED party, THE PEOPLE WILL BE FOOLED. I believe that true change will only come to the Soufriere constituency when THE GOVERNMENT ITSELF IS CHANGED AND SENT PACKING.. This is a government that has failed the people and the country for 14 long years. The people are poorer, they cannot buy basic items from shops and supermarkets, the unemployment rate is at an unprecedented high level, consumers cannot pay their utility bills, parents cannot provide three meals for their children, cannot buy them books to go to school, etc, while MEMBERS OF THE GANG ARE DOING EXTREMELY WELL FOR THEMSELVES. This is why change is necessary. Change is necessary and IAN MUST BE REJECTED, because the poor continues to beg, and this is not what a Labour party stands for.
Ian also needs to be rejected because the motto of the Labour Party seem to be “ALL SHALL BEG”, and he is satisfied with that. Ian needs to be rejected because, he and the other clowns in the Labour Party, have allowed one man (Skerrit) to wreck havoc with the country. Ian needs to be rejected because the party he has been associated with, has no plan to elevate the lives of the ordinary man, woman and child of the Soufriere constituency. All you hear from the members and acloytes OF THE CABAL WHICH IAN WANTS TO REPRESENT, is denegration of their opponents, but on the substantive matters needed to propel this impoverished country forward they are MOO MOO, DUNCE AND LOST FOR IDEAS.
I do not think that this Labour party, lead by Skerrit cares nothing else other than impoverishment of Dominicans in their own country, maintaining the status quo of poverty so that they will perpetuate in power all the time. As i have said and will continue to say, Skerrit’s MOST DAMNING LEGACY , will be “the man who turned industrious people into beggars”
I do not know Mr Higgs Adams, but based on what i have heard of this man, and based on THE PLANS, VISION AND POLICIES OF THE PARTY WHICH HE INTENDS TO REPRESENT, he is by a long way the better option to represent the people of the Soufriere Constituency, since in the United Workers Party, there are more honest people, brtilliant minds, loving and carimng men and women, and more people with a vision.
VOTE THE GANG OF ‘NO GOODS AND GREEDIES OUT’!!!!!!.
CAN YOU IMAGINE MR Aaron IS THEIR BEST SPEAKER?

You must be a reader and writer of the likes of Longfellow and George Bernard Shaw Dominiquen. How could you and whay did say that the tone of the article is anti DLP? My conclusion is that we are all politically drunk in DA for sure. Our basic core has been eroded by politics and politicians. We may be in trouble as a people and small island nation if this form of discourse continues.

@Dominiquen Yes he will win 25 out of the 21 constituencies, and he will rule for the nest 60 years. He will be the PM for ever. So you will shout ” SKERRIT FOR EVER”.
However prepare yourself for his falling ‘Out of Grace”, because he has made Dominica a poor country, a begging nation, and has reduced your brothers and sisters to grovellers, in order to survive. Why didn’t you type in 18-3?
Why are you all Skerrites running away from 18-3 now nah?

A few years ago, the Christian Brothers walked around the Ministerial Building a number of times. In the process, it was predicted, before the next General Elections, the Government would fall, are we seeing a prediction coming to reality.

The country need a new crop of administrators. The situation in Dominica is dire and what we don’t need the reinstatement of useless elements back into an equation that is invalid and irreparable.
It is time to get rid of this evil and corrupt administration. Is that what our country is worth with this Labor Party operatives traversing the country buying votes for a sheet of plywood and a few hundred dollars? I really wish that the people who have a strong voice utilize that voice to speak out against the diabolical operation of this Labor Party

      April 17, 2014

I can Assure you that our votes were not bought. We were won over by the great developments that were made to this country by this current administration under the great leadership of Th Honorable Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.

What does your party have to offer? A novice leader who is showing his inexperience by promoting a man, Thomson Fontaine, who has shown that he is not fit for public office, as your future Minister of Finance. I find this quite alarming and Dominicans should reject you him and the rest of the uwp.

    April 17, 2014

I don’t get it. the only performance that the people get from these Labor Party representatives in government is the rapid personal progress that they make for themselves. For example one guy built a mansion during his first term in office, he then put the house on tha market and WHIE the house is on te market he was building another. He eventually sold the first house to a couple for almost 600,000 pound sterling. Yeh during his first term that happened – when money was walking through the airport in briefcases; when there was a race for the get rich quick trophy among these corrupt and dirty politicians of the Labor Party.
I doh call no name but the truth is the truth and the people know the truth and exactly who I am talking about regarding the mansion built and sold during te first term and a second built while one is on the market.

All is not well Ian. Not that we wish you bad, but brother you are not alright. It is known by the otherside, and within us the supporters,
What you’ve done to brother Sam will come to bite you, and you better believe that many of us are dissatisfied. But what can we do, as you have the power and money to bumrush us out of the scene. Sam won more votes than you, he brought UWP supporters to the otherside. Where do you think the xtra votes came from??????

Brother Ian, do what is best for you and your family. Stop pleasing Skerrit. You have your wolves out in full force sullying the name of Sam, while Higgs is making strides. Serious in fighting, when all you had to do was give Sam the support he needed. When i see Skerrit again, he’ll hear the truth from me. Truth is, only in Soufriere we ‘have them’. Scotts Head youth and growing sentiment is with UWP, Pointe Michel is leaning towards UWP. Yes we’ve lost the workers vote, since Brother Sam isn’t going up, he didn’t bow out, but was bullied out. Shame on us as a people and a party.

Why are some of you people so biased? Sam has done absolutely nothing for the constituency. Sam has no influency in the Labour Party. Sam did not even try… he gave up before he even started. It is no secret that the people voted for Skerrit, so Sam should not even think about running for re election. But I don´t think that Ian is a better replacement… he failed in his first attempt, ill health or not. The fundamental problem of the constituency is disunity. People are too partisan. They put political party before their communities and their development.

Mr Pinard what interest do you have in Pointe Michel Tell us your real reason for going up only then Will we vote for you because a son of your soil is now a doctor and he showed interest in opening a health facility in the country and he and his partners would give free health care and surgery etc instead of pushing the idea you kill it because the doctors family not supporting your party. Further you wanted to allocate piece of land which is already in use by young people doing agriculture and selling their produce to super markets to the doctor why just because the young people not supporting your party

Secondly your government says they are concerned about youths and jobs yet a few young people in Pointe Michel have plots of land doing agriculture and instead because you all want votes you all sent surveyors to cut those people produce to start to clear the land to give to people to build for votes Worse of is not even Pointe Michel People that going to get those land to build. And you want me to vote for you never.

No wonder building materials sharing like tower and you all had a meeting Tuesday night promising young people jobs whosh whosh

Of course they have a problem at Petro. With the dominant position they enjoy in our miniscule market why do they need a sales manager like Ian for a small country like ours.? Their biggest customer is Domlec by far and do you honestly think it would Ian negotiating that contract every year? How many other potential customers do they have? Be honest, that is a non-job, especially with Govt. fixing the fuel prices at retail. Maybe they are putting Ian back up as a constituency candidate as a consolation prize and if he loses they can always say: “well, we gave you a chance old friend!”.

And for those pretending to post as labourites, stop all u bullcrap. Labourites dont post nonesense like what you all are posting.
