Caribbean football officials have been warned to pay back any cash that they may have been given during a controversial meeting in Trinidad or face investigation as part of the corruption investigation rocking Fifa.

Fifa executive committee members Mohamed Bin Hammam and Jack Warner have been suspended pending a full investigation into allegations that they arranged for $1 million in bribes to be offered to 25 Caribbean associations at a special meeting in Trinidad earlier this month.

Five associations have told investigators that they rejected the offers of individual payments of $40,000 in $100 bills, details of which were revealed at the weekend by Telegraph Sport.

A further 13 of the associations have written statements supporting Warner’s denial that any such offers were made, and at a meeting of the Concacaf confederation, which includes Caribbean associations, on Monday they were all warned to hand back any money.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE. You all should listen to your news. Q95 interviewed Patrick John Yesterday and he said that DFA did not accept any money. He said they were offered the money by Hamman but they did not accept it and as such decided to vote against him although they were the ones who nominated him.

I may be wrong, but didn’t the DFA say earlier this year that they were going to vote for Sepp Blatter.

IF they did attend this meeting, I hope that the sight of all that money did not tempt them and inturn lose all credibility.

Before the FIFA report leaked out, yes, 13 member associations wrote statements supporting Warner’s denial. After the report leaked out, stating that there is COMPREHENSIVE, CONVINCING AND OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE that Mohamed Bin Hammam tried to bribe officials and that Warner was an accessory to corruption, Warner resigns immediately to avoid investigation against him. Now, how do those 13 members who stood by him feel now. Ther are some President’s of Footbal Associations in the Caribbean who will stand by Jack Warner no matter what, guilty or not.

See the money and envelope with Bahamas on it here

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/924662/pictorial-evidence-of-'bribe-money'-emerges?campaign=rss&source=soccernet&cc=5901

The thing is Bahamas has a clear conscience along with four other nations….did Dominica take the Money?

DNO a call to the DFA president for comment is newsworthy.

    Three Questions:

    1. Did Patrick John Attend the meeting on Behalf of DOMINICA?
    2. If he did attend or someone did on behalf of Dominica, did he accept the $40k
    3. If the monies were accepted, are they (he) going to give it back?

Wow…look l’argent papa. I cannot understand ..if this story of money in envelopes is true.. I find man really come out. I cant just understand how people can be so bold..so blatant..to come and give open bribes..even when there was so much controversies already happening in.

But when people like power and position.. they will do anything for it. This FIFA is bigger than some countries economies so I guess persons know why they want to be at the top.

Now that we know bribes were offered to the caribbean associations. The question is who attended on behalf of the Dominica football association, and if that person took any bribe what so ever.

This is where our journalist should probe DFA for questions on this matter. Where are our investigative journalists?

      Indeed!

You would think that considering the current obsession with “good governance” among certain members of our society, the media houses here would have peppered the DFA with some pointed questions on the matter, huh? How much did we know about these allegations? Were we offered any money/gifts? What was our reaction to the offer/s? How are we voting in this FIFA conference; Blatter or abstention?

I am still hoping that this will happen. After all, the current leadership of the DFA was in the media not too long ago lauding Jack Warner.

Your point being what? What has FIFA business got to do with the governance of Dominica. You are mixing apples with oranges and it just shows how ill-informed and ignorant you are on pertinent issues. And yes god is not a police you are surely right about that so all involved including those you defend and support will be found out.

Was the Dominica Football Association represented at this meeting in Trinidad, and if so by whom? A statement by our Association on this matter would be welcome.
