Court must end California gay marriage ban – Obama

gay men holding handsA California ban on gay marriages should be overturned by the US Supreme Court, the Obama administration says.

In a legal brief filed ahead of arguments scheduled for late March, the justice department says the ban – known as Proposition 8 – is unconstitutional.

Outlawing same-sex marriage while offering marriage-like rights under law contravenes the right to equal protection under law, the brief says.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments on two same-sex marriage issues.

I am giving you a living prophetical word.

NO, I did not have a vision.

NO, I did not hear a voice from heaven.

I am speaking out of my knowledge of the Word of God.

I am speaking out of my knowledge of the Ways of God.

Obama is in big trouble. By endorsing same sex marriage he has taken America out from under the protection of Almighty God. American cities will be hit by terrorism of the worst kind and America will be gripped by fear such as no nation has ever known. Eventually it will be destroyed.

The same is true of every other nation that follows this godless path.

Only in Jesus Christ is there hope for individuals and nations.

Those who believe in HIM, and stand for righteousness will be spared the WORST that is coming! Before the great tribulation begins on earth the eastern sky will open and Jesus will return for His own!

I came from the least religious area of the US to visit DM. Been here for a year. As an atheist I tolerate the deluded mass majority of Dominicans who constantly feel the need to testify their belief in the fantasy of Christ. I never contradict someone’s personal faith unless they force my opinion by question. I don’t care if you believe in God. That is your choice. I don’t constantly point out the negative side of religion as many atheists do. Many atheists turned away from God because they were victimized by religion or religious people. But not me. I was born atheist, raised atheist, so I carry no grudge against the faithful. What I find unsavory is how Christians are so against homosexuality under the mask that God finds it abominable. I have read the bible cover to cover. There are many things which God says is against Him. But Christians routinely look past all those multitude of silly laws because Jesus died for the sins of all mankind. Isn’t the so-called sin of homosexuality washed away as well? I think all these believers are guilty of picking and choosing which of God’s laws to be offended by, and which somehow don’t matter at all. This thinly veiled homophobic culture does more harm than good to society. Why, a good man was stabbed to death on the street of Portsmouth just because he was suspected of being gay. In a culture so homophobic everyone seems to suspect people of being one. Calling someone gay is the most common insult for men here, I have noticed. It just seems so meaningless and wrong to me. Why should I care if someone is gay or not? It doesn’t mean someone is good or bad any more than calling someone a Christian means they are a good or bad person. I think it would be a lot more healthy for civilization to accept there is nothing inherently wrong with people who are homosexual. There would be a lot less hate and suffering of mankind. It’s just irrational, the belief that living alongside homosexuals is going to somehow make your life worse. And it reflex poorly, at least to non-chirstians, on your chosen religion. I applaud Obama’s stance on this issue with California. It gives me a little faith too: Faith that mankind can continue moving past ignorant cultual practices and beliefs. I guess religious traditions are often the most stubborn blockage to cultural progression. It’s almost the difinition of religion to be unchanging. I suppose that’s also why they tend to go out of style every few thousand years or so. And for the record I am not cristisizing only DM. Obviously there are many hate filled people in my country as well.

RU,,,please attempt to follow the discussion and debate closely without making wild and unassociated statements by misrepresenting our thoughts.
No one hates these people, what we do not condone and hate is the act of buggery and homosexuality. It just does not make sense, it is inhumane, un natural etc. God and hereby nature gave us corresponding and complimentary sexual organs and this is for a purpose and the act of homosexulaity is disgustijg and once the sperm is ejaculated it does nothing. So please do not ask me or expect me to accept this nonsense. A mans rear is designed naturally to pass waste so the human body can be cleanse and healthy not for any kind of penetration, the vagina is designed for that purpose of sexual activity and hence penetraton. Isn’t nature lovel and beautiful? This is the bottom line of our argument. God which is nature has given a man sperm to multiply and find that oppostite corresponding partner, and another man or someones anal, it is dangerous and not designed for this. So it is on this basis that we speak and nothing about haters etc, you all try to distort, distract the cause and sensationalise the issue. Let us discuss on these merits that I have raised.

      God bless all his people.

there is nothing unnatural about homosexuality. in every civilization there is recorded history bearing out that fact. there are plenty of gay and lesbian people in dominica carrying out roles beneficial to society, regardless of discrimination. its unfortunate that they should live in fear of public humilation and scorn. it is a civil rights issue, one governments in any country need to recognise. no single group of people should be exempt from the protection of equal rights and denied the pursuit of happiness and liberty. dominicans should be able to relate to that.

He is not only your God. He is everyone’s God – Our God. He is love and knows love but not that type of love between people of the same gender. God will never approve such and bless it. He created man and woman and ordained that marriage will solely be between “one man and one woman.”
Where is your head? Whatever era we reside in sexual relationships between people of the same gender are intrinsically evil. It is an abomination and highly offends God. When will you comprehend that? Those who cannot comprehend this has their heads stuck in the sand and cannot think straight and about the truth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray to God for guidance and enlightenment which you are sadly lacking.

Obama isn’t a good president but it’s not because he supports gay marriage. It’s because he have drones hovering over countries bombing innocent civilians on the ground in the middle east. All this in an attempt to protect what america cherishes the most that black ‘gue’ called oil. You should spend more time advocating for the end of drone usage and less time trying to demean and infringe on the rights of other people. You people need to get your priorities straight and clean your back yards before going into other people’s yards!

In matters of morality and godliness, Obama has flopped in a worst manner. As the U.S. president, he has exceeded his bounds. He has shocked and disappointed many people, especially in his own party and the opposition.
It is not a matter of the color of his skin but of morality. In this case he is not a role model and a bad example to especially the youths.
He is married and has two children, girls. It would be interesting to see if they both would love women. What would he say about that? Consider that the sins of the father (parents) follow their children.
Once upon a time I considered him a good president but no more. He will be remembered for encouraging this abomination. Nothing will erase that. I do not think that history will have much good to say about him. Wait, see and read when they write about him after he vacates the presidency.

Obama is a hypocrite. He should stay away out of the affairs of those States. It is not his business. Let him see about the affairs of Washington and the economy of the U.S., a mess that it is in which he is trying to fix but cannot fix. This is all due to their godless and warped mind as they institute immorality/ abomination in the land. We know that God is not blind, deaf or sleeping.

Today, Sunday, I heard on U.S. WNED, Channel 17, in the area I reside in that approximately 47 million people (did not write it down to be precise) are godless, not practicing the faith. I thought, if God were to punish the world at this moment, how many people would perish. They think it is something good and wise to practice this abomination and other sinfulness, cohabiting, marrying while their married spouses are still alive as they made a vow before God in a Church and marrying in city halls, etc. Is it any wonder that many people are unhappy, jobs are decreased, eliminated, businesses are going bankrupt, not successful and progressive, children are disobedient, children and adults become criminals/murderers and the list goes on? These account for godlessness/immorality in the land which politicians who are at the head of it institute such in our land, recognition of same sex relationships and so-called same sex marriage. Those people are morally and spiritually sick.
Need I say more to make others open their eyes to what is occurring in the land/world and to convince them? Those who do not visualize and comprehend this are blind, deaf and sleeping. Open your eyes!

I am a Canadian. Some will say what is done in America is none of my businees. But they say Canada is only five years behind America. In other words what is done in the States now will be done in Canada five years from now. My own research shows the American influence is spilling over into the Caribbean nations. This is not by accident. Because of America’s size, and its place on the world stage, it has a sense of entitlement to be able to tell smaller nations what to do. Some of us were shocked a while back when an American ambassador while in the nation of her assignment – contrary to protocol and common sense – mouthed off at them for their laws of decency which limit homosexual activities. Now we see Mr. Obama saying California should end its ban on gay marriages. Mr. Obama is setting himself up for one terrible backlash. The number of Bible believing evangelical Christians in the States ready to defend their faith is already strong and growing. They believe any man made law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures is invalid and are watching the present unfolding of political events very closely. Whether the Califorian ban on same sex marriage is unconstitutional is basically a matter of opinion otherwise there would be nothing to argue in court. What side of the argument your opinion comes down on will depend on your bias. In some cases people oppose homosexuality because they know the psychological, physical, and social damage it does. If you don`t mind getting scientific read the book HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE POLITICS OF TRUTH by Dr. Jefferey Satinover, M.D. who has practiced psychiatry and psychotherapy for over 20 years. He has taught in Yale University and Harvard University. This book can be ordered from AMAZON. Others are against homosexuality because it is violates the laws God has given to us in the Bible. Those who advocate homosexual practices have their own reasons for doing so. We cannot stop people from speculating on why Obama decided take up the cause of same sex marriage. Rumors are already out there and journalists are already pursuing them. Here is where his case against the ban on same sex marriage in California and elewhere in the nation breaks down in thinking of Bible believing people. In the brief he handed down it fails to recognize that marriage was not something created by a human government. Consequently, no human government has the authority to redefine marriage. It is a God given institution. As such the model or pattern for marriage is one man united to one woman for as long as they both shall live. This is the only true and valid marriage. It is what God has given to us in the Holy Scriptures. Any sexual relationship outside these Divinely appointed boundaries is sin. God calls it foirnication. Whatever marriage like rights are given to unmarried people under law is something the government will have to decide on. But please, do not call whatever state they are in a marriage because it is not! Many feel Obama is further treading on dangerous ground when he dictates to any supreme court what it must do. This is not our understanding of how justice works. Not many Americans want to go down that path. Sinerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

Is it O.K. for a church leader to speak out against theft, kidnapping, rape, and murder? Why then is it suddenly wrong to speak out against sodomy or buggery? Whenever a pastor, bishop, or evangelist tells the public what the Bible says about homosexuality it seems to touch a nerve and we have people screaming senseless things like HATE, HOMOPHOBIA, or DISCRIMINATION? (1) We do not hate people who commit various sins. We do hate the sins they commit. (2) It is necessary for us to take a stand against sin and in particular the sins that are causing physical disease, mental health issues, and social discord. Do you think we are showing HATE when we oppose incest, rape, child abuse, and beastility? Would you rather live in a society where nobody HATED these things? Some years ago when a gay airline steward brought the HIV/AIDES virus to America and infected over 200 men across the country AFTER he had learned that he was infected, was it wrong to HATE what he had done? A few days ago I read that in one particular country gay men where on the top of the list for the people infected with HIV/AIDS. Are the people of that nation filled with HATE when they speak out against the kind of behaviour that produces this kind of statistic? The reason church leaders take a position against all forms of homosexuality is because God forbids same sex relations along with all other expressions of fornication. Disobedience to the laws of God always brings serious consequences. But please don’t accuse us of HATING anybody. Many of us are in the kind of work that involves dedication and personal sacrifices from time to time to help reach and help the very people we are accused of HATING. People who know us best know this is true. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

One of things you need to understand is that religious beliefs are not justifiable true and what your religion teaches you through your so called holly scriptures should not be forced upon other people and made law.The world is in a mess not because of homosexuality but simply because some human beings using their holly scriptures to make laws forcing it on others who do not believe in such scriptures. The threat and destruction of the institution of marriage is not homosexuality.

When you made reference to Dr. Jefferey Satinover,Psychiatrist M.D and his book Homosexuality and The Politics of truth in support of your argument calling it a scientific read, how absurd.First of the field of Psychiatry is arguably the least science based of the medical specialties. It should be also be reminded that Dr.Jefferey Satinover is an orthodox Jew and of course his religious beliefs will take precedence regarding his view of homosexuality regardless of his impeccable academic achievement and to me that is not someone to look forward as being truthful regarding the matter of homosexuality. Finally something you should think about When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow.

      • March 25, 2013

Re: Dr. Jefferey Satinover: The following should be considered: (1) Dr. Satinover is a practicing Christian. (2) His book HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE POLITICS OF TRUTH is based on his research and studies that have been done which are all very well documented. What he says is not based on the teaching of any religion or faith so I fail to see what his own religious roots would have to do with it. (3) I am well aware of the grey areas in psychiatry. But it is a branch of medicine that is recognzed as a specialty. Dr. Satinover would be an M.D. before becoming a psychiatrist. (4) To any person writing in a scientific field – especially when he or she writes as a board certified specialist – peer review is what concerns them most. Th doctor knew numerous M.D.s and Ph.D.s, university professors and even presidents the world over, would be looking at his book. Actually, it has received some great reviews. Gary, I am sorry you have such low regard for the Bible. The Creator DOES have a right to tell us all – myself included – how to live and He HAS done so in the Holy Scriptures. Nobdy is forcing you to obey God’s commandments. The governments of the world can base their laws upon the Word of God or they can pass laws that are contrary to them. But someday we will all stand before God and answer to Him. Until then Christians and other people of faith have a choice in a democracy who they vote for. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Obama won the elections twice because Christians voted for him. All these people saw was a black man. Those of us knew from his record that he would take America down the immoral path. Imagine obama sees nothing disgusting in two men buggering each other. Talk of the antiChrist!

No! Not all U.S. Christians voted for him. I can vouch for that. The genuine practicing ones as God knows did not vote for him. They wanted Romney. Many voted for Romney.
Obama got a lot of votes from the Latino community. He promised the illegal ones to grant them residency. they were given the right to vote. Therefore, they voted for him in thousands. This is how he happened to be re-elected.
There are some Christians, those who call themselves Christians, sometimes in only words – name only, who support this abomination. They are not faithful Christians. Those who are faithful in the true sense of the word will never vote for someone whom they are aware of who support this abomination. I will never vote for a politician if he/she proclaims to the country/world that they are living such a life. It is upsetting to see those people on TV. I tune them off and will not read articles pertaining to them. Christians should know better and never vote for them. They should never approve, condone, applaud and encourage this abomination. God does not approve it and never will for I reiterate it highly offends Him.
Bad enough there are other sins in the land but homosexuality and lesbians are slapping Our Lord Jesus Christ in the face; even kicking him.
This type of relationship is an ill wind that blows nobody any good. It is not good for society and does not enhance it. It is an evil that befell the world.
Do you think that God is pleased with such a relationship? Think again. Keep thinking and praying. God will reveal it to you. Let the truth be told and let it prevail.

The illegals from Cuba and Mexico included their families voted for Obama.

    • January 28, 2014

It is very likely that many illegals voted for Obama but I’m not sure this is what gave him the job.

I do know that a high percentage of black folks voted for him. I don’t remember the source of this information so I’m not presenting it as documentation only for consideration. (I do a lot of reading and it was a long time ago) But I read that something like 80% of the black voters voted for Obama!

I also read that about 80% of the black voters in the USA are opposed to abortion and so called “gay rights”. They oppose abortion and “gay right” but they voted for Obama :!: WHY? Not because he reflected their moral values! They voted for him because he was black!

People danced in the village streets in Kenya when they heard he won the presidency. Why? Not because a godly man would be in the White House! But because one of their own race would be leading the most powerful nation of earth! They may not have known in Kenya where he stood on the moral or social issues.

It was overdue that a black man be president of the USA. I have no problem with this at all. People who know me and follow my ministry know I hate every form and expression of racism. But this IS racism. It is a reverse form of racism!

I only hope Obama’s betrayal of the faith and his betrayal of the traditional values of morality, marriage, and family do not discourage Bible believers from voting for the next black candidate if he is a a genuine Christian who stands for righteousness.

But I do believe that we should have a better reason for voting for a president (or prime minister) than the color of his skin, or even gender. Christians everywhere should find out where the candidates stand on issues like abortion, same sex marriage, sex education in the schools, the legalization of marijuana, etc. Let your vote be an intelligent vote!

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill, DD. International Pentecostal Evangelist.

      • January 12, 2015

Again, let your vote be an intelligent one based on your moral values NOT on the colour of the candidate’s skin :!:

To vote for a candidate based on his or her race is a form of racism. It would only be done by totally irresponsible people.

Sadly, this is what swept Obama into power. Unfortunately black people have hurt their own cause. The kind of president Obama turned out to be will cause American Christians to think twice about voting in another black president. This is unfortunate because there are qualified black people with strong Christian convictions – both men and women – who would be good presidents. It may take time to find the right candidate. But it would be worth waiting for!

Soon there will be a perfect world wide kingdom ruled from Jerusalem by Jesus Christ the Son of God! Those do not come under the rule of God will be banished into outer darkness.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist

Progress!! Woo! As a child of the 21st Century I support the changing times! My God only knows love and I am not the one to judge….I support gay rights

    • January 28, 2014

There is nothing modern or up-to-date about “gay rights”.

The men of Sodom and Gomorrha and the cities around them, along with many in the ancient Greek and Roman Empire, also thought it was their “right” to bugger each other! In ancient Greece man – boy sex was considered classy. Older men where proud of their boy lovers!

People of intelligence will evaluate a social practice – not by how old or new it is – but by what God Almighty says about it and what it does to people.
God has forbidden the practice of homosexuality in the Holy Scriptures.

The Christian church has condemned homosexual practices for 2,000 years based on Romans 1:26,27, 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, 1 Timothy 1:9,10, Jude vs. 7.

Nations with a Christian heritage have had laws against homosexuality for hundreds of years.

      Homosexuality is an unhealthy lifestyle.

Homosexuals have more mental health issues, a higher rate of alcoholism, more AIDS, and a higher percentage of suicides.

A homosexual man is three times as likely to molest a child than a heterosexual. I saw one set of stats on the internet that showed 40% of serial killers are homosexuals. This is in spite of the fact that only 3-4 percent of the North American population are homosexuals. Some of the most gruesome crimes of torture have been and are committed by homosexuals.

Some (not necessarily all) of this information is documented in the book HOMOSEXUALS AND THE POLITICS OF TRUTH by Dr. Jeffrey Satinover, M.D. Dr. Satinover has practiced psychiatry for over 20 years. He has taught in Yale and Harvard Universities.

Welcome to the 21 century and the changing times!

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

I’m very disappointed and disgusted by Obama’s stance on this! The U.S.A has no issues with banning prayers in schools but from the very top they fight for gay and homosexual rights….what a Godless country! Shame on Obama!

    • April 8, 2013

Decades ago the U.S.A. put prayer and Bible reading out of the public schools. More recently Canada started doing the same thing. What they didn’t have the intelligence to know is that when you put the lights out you have darkness. In the first century A.D. a Jewish rabbi and recent convert to Christianity by the name of Paul wrote, “…when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools… And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind…” (Romans 1:21,28) Since prayer and Bible reading was put out of the schools what has happened? Have the schools become safer places? No! There has been an increase of violence in the schools. Bullying has become a big problem. It has become so bad it has resulted in suicides. There have been school shootings – not just one single person being shot – but we’re talking about mass murders. This has not been an isolated case but it has happened again and again, on an increasing larger scale. Now schools are putting security in place – including guards – to protect students, faculty, and staff. We are hearing of teachers being arrested for having sex with students. At first we imagined this was a one time occurance and would not happen again. But dream on! It has happened again and again! People will mock me and say “Are you telling us that these things are taking place because the schools got rid of prayer and Bible reading in thew classrooms?” Here is my answer before you ask. These problems did not exist a hundred years ago. They did not exist fifty years ago. They began AFTER the schools put God out! Since the schools began to teach evolution as a fact not a theory and exclude creation as a viable alternative model for beginnings, and since they brough in sex education that allows for homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle, it has been like throwing gasoline on an already burning fire, and the problems have escalated! To many people pray and Bible reading are merely simple and short religious exercises and of no great value. But they create a God-awareness and a sense of our accountability to Him. God honors us when we acknowledge him. He also knows where He is not welcome and He withdraws His presence including His influence! PLEASE NOTE: These things are happening in the U.S.A. and Canada. I expect it is much different throught the Caribbean. I am not implying that your schools in Dominica have these problems. But I am sharing my concerns because the U.S.A. with its bully mentality is trying to get other nations to accept its lack of values and ungodly lifestyles. Their influence is being felt in Canada. They’ve already cast a shadow over the Caribbean by saying that your counries should follow the American path. It is the road to destruction. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. The end of times… they are near….. This world is quickly decaying as a result of the decisions taken by leaders which lack prudency and serious consideration for future generations!!!

    • March 1, 2013

See the big picture, two gay dudes frees up two fine ladies for us men, I have no problem with extra available women, do you? The world is over populated anyways, homosexuals are helping slow the population growth down. Now isn’t that some CrAZy food for your thoughts… :)

Dear Matthan: You are right. Decisions made by political leaders in favour of gay “rights” and same sex “marriage” are not being made in consideration of what is best for society and shows no regard for future generations. The alarming high rates of mental health issues, substance abuse, AIDS, and suicide among homosexuals, along with the findings that they have a shorter life span is ignored for the sake of political correctness. Worse still is the fact that governbments – while politely paying lip service to religion in general – completely ignores the clear teaching of the Holy Scriptures
that homosexuality is a sin. (Romans 1:21-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Jude vs. 7), and turns a deaf ear to the teaching of mainstream Christianity for the past 2,000 years. Your statement that “The end of times…they are near…” is absolutely true. Those who are familar with the Book of Genesis know it was the vile sin of homosexuality that brought God’s judgment upon those cities. In the New Testament we read, “even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the citis about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, ARE SET FORTH FOR AN EXAMPLE, suffering the vengence of eternal fire.” (Jude vs. 7) The Lord Jesus said the moral condition of the nations will be like that of Sodom and Gomorrah at the time of His return. It says “But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. EVEN THUS SHALL IT BE in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” (Luke 17:29-30) It is the responsibiliy of ALL Christians – and especially those in LEADERSHIP positions in the church – to be the very FACE and VOICE of righteousness in these the last and closing days of time. By prayer, and by making our convictions felt at election time, we can slow down the decay, and stave off the final colapse for awhile. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist. “The alarming high rates of mental health issues, substance abuse, AIDS, and suicide among homosexuals”

These issues do not occur because a person is gay, they occur because they are treated so poorly for being gay. This should prove that it is not a choice. Who would choose to be rejected by society?

You should be more concerned with all these dirty men who leave their children behind without care and love. You should be more focused on the hungry orphans in Africa and all over the world that are ignored because so called ‘good people’ like yourself spend more time finding ways to continue hatred rather than focus on these problems of the world. You people are so awful. I mean even animals show concern better than you. Sometimes I wonder who should be caged the animals at the zoo or those hateful human spiecies looking at them behind the glass.

BWA: Thank you for reading my comments. I am pleased that you replied. Everybody does not agree with me. But everybody does have a right to express an opinion. You have said we should be more concerned about dirty men who leave children behind without care and hungry orphans in Africa. BWA, there are two things you fail to understand. (1) We are very concerned about children who have been left without care and especially the orphans in Africa. Apart from governments and government organizations nobody is doing more to help needy children and orphans than Christian churches and Christian ministries. They are the ones who are reaching around the world to provide shelter, clothing, food, medical care, and education for poor and suffering children. It is not the militant gay organizations – the activists who are pushing for gay rights – who are doing this work. It is Christians who are giving financially to help the orphans in Africa. It is the employees and volunteers of Christian ministries – who are working on-site in Africa caring for children who either have no parents, or – have only one parent who is too ill to even care for herself (or himself). (2) You mentioned the hungry orphans in Africa. Did you know that a high percentage of these precious children have been left orphans by parents who died of AIDS? It is the Christians who are opposed to homosexual behaviour who are going into these countries and risking their own lives to bring compassionate care in their Saviour’s name to these dear people. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.
