A pair of explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon on Monday afternoon, injuring several people.

The Boston Globe reported at least 12 people were injured in the explosions.

“There are a lot of people down,” one man, whose bib No 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina, told The Globe.

CNN said the blasts occurred a few seconds apart, shrouding downtown Boston’s Copley Square in smoke.

Paramedics were treating several victims at the scene, and police ordered onlookers to back away from the area, A CCN producer reported.

The explosions occurred about 2:45 p.m., about an hour after the first runners had crossed the finish line.

Heart-wrenching pics from the Boston Marathon bombing tradgedy.
These graphic images were even more real to me; as a student I walked down those very streets almost every day for 3 years.

From what I heard today, three are dead, 176 are injured, approximately 13 are critically injured. This is so far. How many more will lose their life through this atrocity?
Patience, in writing and reading are godly virtues! I grieve for all who are affected in anyway, victims, families, friends, organizers of the Boston marathon and those who participated in it including the viewers who were present to cheer them on.

Standing up for truth and fairness, we must tell it like it is and leave no stone unturned.

People must have cold and wicked hearts to plan something like that and to carry it out. They inflict wombs, suffering on people and murder them. The injured are suffering and victims are left to grieve over their family’s injuries and death. Husbands, wives, parents and children of all are left without their loved ones and their overall support for life.
In the case where properties are destroyed, owners suffer an immense financial loss including staff who will be unemployed. Those who are insured will have to be compensated for their loss. We, the public, will eventually also pay a financial price for this as overall costs are increased. Those who are not insured may suffer the loss of their business and other personal loss. Do you visualize how much all of us are affected, one way or the other? It is a serious matter. The sufferings and grief of whatever nature of those affected go beyond and above emotions and are crying to Heaven for vengeance.
God is taking note of all atrocities which are committed in His World which He created and through those human beings whom He created. Our Lord said, “Vengeance is Mine! I will repay!” Rest assured in his own good time He will repay them. They will receive his just recompense as they deserve. They will not escape. It is better to do good in words and deeds than evil for such people will eventually pay the price, even while they are on earth, when they die and throughout eternity.
Terrorists have caused the democratic world governments, business owners, passengers, etc., a lot of hardship, money and inconvenience. When they are caught, they must be severely punished. There should be no empathy for such heartless types of people.
Take note lawyers who defend criminals and who sometimes get them acquitted on technicalities as it is also stated that they are not criminally responsible for their wicked deeds because you are paid an exorbitant sum of money, to defend them, from those who can afford it and by the government, at taxpayers’ expense, for those criminals who cannot afford it as you drum up additional business.
As Our Lord said, “You cannot serve God and money” and “What will profit a man (woman) to gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul in eternity?”
Nationals of the world have reasons to raise hell about this, towards the System and to those who are acquitted, others who are bailed out to walk the land in freedom and peace when they did not accord others their due rights, dignity, freedom and peace. They do not deserve freedom. Keep them incarcerated.
Governments, we have reasons to be angry. If there is capital punishment, do not hesitate to exercise it towards those who wage war on our countries and nationals and who also deprive people of their property and jobs, injure and murder them and place fear in the rest of us. Otherwise life imprisonment should be there lot. This is a cry for justice and for the victims, living and departed
In the Name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and the Boston victims including other victims of the world (wherever we reside, we too are victims of terrorist actions), let justice prevail. It is high time!

So sad for everyone here. Can you imagine that earlier today I was watching some of the runners? After 9/11 I stopped going to the fireworks display on July 4th because it just seems like a perfect target for those lunatics killing in the name of their god. Alas now 3 people are dead and 144 are in the hospital. Thankfully, Boston has the best hospitals in the world. Still smh…The 8 yr old’s mother suffered a brain injury, and his little sister lost her leg…help their father Lord!

Although I would love to attend those gatherings as also certain pageants, for fear of this, I do not attend any of them. They certainly have spoilt our fun and gatherings to be among others to celebrate those functions.

This is so sad, inhumane and downright low. On every level and I join my voice with the millions globally who have condemned this act or terrorism be it home-grown or foreign against the people of Boston and the USA by extension. Innocent by standers cheering on a race, a race ran by so many for so many goodwill causes has been marred by some lowlife with a strange agenda.!

Unless there were two 8-year olds that died, your information is incorrect. The 8-year old that we know of here in Dorchester is a boy and he was not running in the marathon. I am unaware of any information being released about the other two fatalities.

This is shocking. I heard that today is a holiday in Boston. Whoever thought that they would have chosen a marathon to conduct their evil acts? They are lurking in the background planning their evil acts.
It is speculated that it is a home-grown threat and action. Approximately 2000 Canadians were present. So far it is stated that no Canadians were hurt.
Terrorists have cost the entire world a lot of money which is utilized for our protection, including the airlines. We have reason to get angry with those who rain terror on us and when people are enjoying themselves, least expecting that this would occur.
One day, God will take care of those who refuse to live in peace and harmony others and who consistently plan their evil acts on us, on the entire world. We have reasons to be concerned.

If is one thing we must give sound credit to DNO for is that you have a great source for news as it happens.

I can say DNO is not backward as the rest of Dominica!

    Great work indeed.

I bet anything some Dominicans are going to give me the thumbs for simply saying that oui!

Francisco, why am I laughing at your comments? They are serious but funny. DNO is a Dominican Media and will obviously report the news as heard and reported.
Why are you insulting Dominicans and calling them backward? What is your idea and reason for doing so?
You deserve thumbs down for making such a derogatory statement about your own fellow people. All the same I refrained from giving you either thumbs up or down. Be kind to your fellow people.
I suggest you get a good rest to clear your mind. It may assist you to think better and towards your fellow people.

@justice and truth, I dont think you should make much ado about Francisco. It is plain to see the guy has issues, he is a narcisist (sp) and he also has self esteem problems. Just let him be, some people have to try to make others feel bad in order to feel good. Its sad but thats the way it is, so relax on Francisco, this is how he gets a bit of joy. 8)

      • April 16, 2013

Justice and Truth, are you suggesting you do not know how backward our people are?

What I am going to say here has nothing to do this particular issue; however don’t you find it foolish that our people welcomes a thirty-five seater aircraft to fly them in a and out of Dominica, rather than demanding that we build an International Airport, which will alleviate all of our hardship in getting in and out of our country?

Such are the reasons I am derogatory, that is the why I am so critical sometimes: the backward mentality of our people causes them to accept anything; and that is why Dominica is undoubtedly one of the poorest place on the face of earth; yet in our political blindness the majority of the nation has convinced themselves that life in Dominica is superb in comparison to elsewhere.

During the debate regarding the thirty-five seater aircraft, one Dominican contend that it is nice they came “they are nice people.”

        What nice people?

An owner, or the pilot made a statement to the effect saying they are happy or glad to be flying to and from Dominica; does that make someone or some people nice?

        I don’t think so!

All they are after is the flight route to and from Dominica to make money, in the process their presence prevents the government from building an International Airport, any variance that will cause some prevention in the way of development our people appreciate; how dumb can people be?

I do not think benign nice was on their mind when they came. How can one say I am a nice person without associating with me on any basics, but you see that is the mentality of most Dominicans, if you walk down the streets at home and wave your hand to someone you do not know, not even knowing your name, the next time they see you, they will refer to you as their friend, all due to a single hand wave.

And that’s the way it is with our people.

Well, what did I say about the thumbs down, if one ask the five who dislike what I said, why they dislike it their answer will be ” I doh know!”

Telemaque, we are all each other’s keepers. Read the story of Cain and Abel in the Book of Genesis. You have a mortal (moral) and spiritual problem. Stick to the issue – of this subject – do not deviate from it for your writings make no sense and are not beneficial to anyone of us.
People possess different character and personality traits and think differently. We cannot think as you do. We are not of one mind. We do not view the negativity as you see it. We do know that you are way off course and think and write strangely. We must teach you a godly way. However, due to your manner of thinking and no doubt age (hope you do not take medication which dulls and kills the mind), you may be beyond comprehension and learning.
We cannot teach an old dog new tricks. However, we reserve the right to comment on your insults and foolishness. May God assist you and enlighten you to change and improve your thoughts as imbedded in your heart and mind which are spewed through your fingers on the keyboard and sent to this Website.
Telemaque, repent and change. Otherwise as you grow older, you will become more miserable and insulting. This in no way will gain you the blessing, graces and peace of God and to appease him so that you will obtain eternal salvation. You are presently losing out on a lot, godly virtues, traits and His blessing and peace. God’s peace be to you Telemaque. With the help of God, try to practice it to your fellow people. You have much to gain by practicing it and much to lose by not doing so.

Am I proud to be a Dominican, born of Dominican parents who appropriately nurtured me and taught me to be loving, respectful and generous to others in words and deeds. They taught me to speak the truth and to stand up for the truth. I also attribute this to my Catholic Church and school teachings. It has been an asset to me also residing abroad. Thanks be to God.
There are constructive criticisms and there are non-constructive ones. Telemaque needs to know the difference and to learn from others instead of spewing his anger, hatred and insults on all of us Dominicans. Do you not see that this man is ignorant and has a problem? Nevertheless, we do not hate him. For his own good, we must correct him.
I recall a story which in reality is a joke. A soldier was matching with his fellow soldiers. He said, “All of them are out of step but him.”
This should tell us something about Telemaque who also lacks humility. He is not a flexible person who also does not compromise and cooperate with others. He appears to be beyond understanding of the situation of Dominica. Or has he forgotten about them when he resided in Dominica. His comments depict this very well. I am falling short of calling him a traitor to his country of birth where he was brought up.

      • April 16, 2013

        Hahahahahahahaahahahaahahahah!

You humor me, I am not putting my people down, nonetheless, it is my hope that what I say will shed some light; and open the closed mind of the many who are contented with the status quo, many of us would like to see some changes take place in the country.

Dominica is the place of my birth, however, had my love for country kept me in Dominica, I assure you I might have already died from working on the banana plantations.

I returned to Dominica, after forty years or more, and people I knew from way back when I was a kid, those people are still walking without shoe on their feet, warring straw hats, they look old and dry, however, sporting gray beards on their faces. I could not live a life like that, and certainly I do not enjoy seeing people like that.

Mark you, most of those who attended school with me, the only ones of us surviving are the ones who were smart enough to realize Dominica would forever remain a dead place, and left in a nick of time smart.

As for the one who characterized me as “narcissist” proves how ignorant and stupid that person is., so that gives me the reason to wipe my feet on scum of the earth like that., because that idiot does not know the actual meaning of the word, if he/she knows the meaning of narcissist, and believe that’s the way I am; that is because that is the nature and character of that idiot.

Narcissism is when a someone loves or entertains sexual desire for one’s very own body!

This idiot does not know me; all the fool read is my name and my opinions, how on earth can one make a statement like that about someone they do not know?

Well, it is my duty to tell the idiot they are a very sick person mentally, and I advised them to seek some psychiatric treatment for their perverted, and devious practices which their sick and warped mind urges them to crave their own body!

No wonder some of you will never be able to identify yourself on DNO by disclosing your real name, all due to your stupidity. For the sick slave information only, I majored in health science, and part of my training is in psychology, I am good at abnormal psychology also, because of my background I identify you as a mentally ill person, and one who is a danger to yourself, and the public in general; I diagnose you as 51/50 go and talk to my cousin Griffin Benjamin about your condition perhaps he can help you.

        you are crazy!

If you are a woman I would not touch you with a ten foot pole.

Tony after the fourth paragraph nothing said here pertains to you.
