One international news organization is reporting that an influential Islamic group is urging the government of Indonesia to cancel the upcoming Miss World Pageant carded for next month citing skin exposure by women in the competition violates Muslim teachings.

According to CBC News a top level meeting of clerics was held earlier this month by the Indonesian Ulema Council to respond to protests from some groups over Indonesia’s hosting of the event, even after organizers agreed to cut the bikini competition and instead outfit contestants in more conservative sarongs, council Chairman Amidan Shaberah said.

“Our position is clear, we reject Indonesia being the host of Miss World,” Canada-based CBC News quoted Shaberah as saying. “Because exposing their bodies in a contest is against Islamic teachings.”

Shaberah said the council recommends that the pageant be stopped.

The event is scheduled to be held partly on the resort island of Bali, with the final round on September 28 near the capital, Jakarta.

Dominica is being represented at the pageant by Leslassa Armour-Shillingford. She has secured financial assistance from the Dominica National Petroleum Company Ltd and the AID Bank and left island on Monday for Indonesia.

The pageant, which is expected to be a seven segment three-week, event will see beauties competing from all across the world.

The show consists of five pre-judged events: Miss Fitness, Beach Fashion, Beauty with a Purpose, Beach fashion, Talent Section and a runway fashion show.

The evening wear and the interview section are the only two segments that will be judged on the 28th of September the actual day of the show.

Armour-Shillingford told DNO in a previous interview that she is confident that she can bring the crown home and is excited and honored about the prospect of representing Dominica.

The pageant, which was created in the United Kingdom in 1951, is one of the oldest surviving major international beauty pageants.

The winner spends a year travelling to represent the Miss World Organization and its various causes.

The current Miss World is Yu Wenxia of China.

Traditionally, Miss World lives in London during her reign.

You stupid idiot! When will you ever stop making a greater idiot of yourself by responding against the things that you will never be able to understand–pertaining to my messages here?

Yes indeed! I will continue to speak about the “carnal mind” because that aspect is the reason the mass number of people like yourself continue to exist in this world–without Love hence they have no God, and of course no Life in them.

You think you are alive but you are dead–wandering your environment like a walking coffin with a dead body, that dead body is your
    “soul”.

The body without the Spirit is dead–Jesus said it the Spirit who gives Life–the flesh profits nothing–that is who you are; a body of flesh and bones without Life which is from God by Faith in Jesus Christ.

Therefore, you continue in your existence in this world “the natural man, who does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned”.

You are the way you are because of your “carnal mind” which is an enemy against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be”

We have been warned: “Do not be conformed to the World but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”–but how can a fool like understand this, when you believe you can challenge my wisdom and understanding which from Holy Spirit in me?

And so the more you continue to speak your stupidity against my messages the more you give me the privilege to expose that “stupid idiot” whom you really are–so why don’t you stop it for your own good?

If I was Leslassa team’s I would be very cautious about venturing outdoors. These people use acid to ruin the physical appearances of women they deem immoral. Leslassa should remain very vigilante both inside the pageant community and outside when she’s over there to protect herself from attacks.

Many Evangelical Christians including myself believe beauty pageants are inappropriate because (a) they are based upon false values, and (b) they show the ladies in an improper state of dress. 8-O

These are not rules we make up as we go along. We have a scripture based faith. Our position in this matter is based upon St. Matthew 5:28, 1 John 2:15-17, and other scriptures. :-o

It would be fair to say that there are probably Evangelical Christians who do not think these scriptures apply to beauty pageants, and yes, you may find some some of our folks attending such events.

The difference between Christians and Muslims in respect of the beauty pageants is Evangelical Christians know what takes place at beauty pageants is not a sin “against nature” (Romans 1:24-28) such as homosexuality, and it does not violate the model for marriage that God gave the human race in Matthew 19:4-6. It does not strike at the sanctity of marriage and family. Because of this most of our bishops and pastors will probably not protest against the pageants, nor seek to have laws passed against them. 8)

Christians do not want any harm to befall the young women participating in the Indonesian Miss World Pageant. We should be praying for their safety and the safety of all who attend. We do not condone violence. Unfortunately violence – especially against women – is often found among Muslims. It would not be out of character for them to retaliate if their efforts to have the pageant cancelled fails.

Concerned, I also believe Leslassa and the other contestants should be cautious when venturing outdoors. They should stay together as much as possible and be aware of their surroundings.

In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

My respected audience, there is a program on D.B.S every Thursday night from 7-8pm. It is called “Islam in Focus.” It has been aired for the last 10 years now. For everyone of you, there is an opportunity to engage with us live, call us, send in text messages or even engage with us on face book. We would like to facilitate mutual understanding between us for in the Noble Qur’an it says in Chapter 2:256, “Let there be no compulsion in deen (Islam as a way of life); truth is clear from error…” Whatever anyone does with the information understood and received is between he and God. Judgement in the hereafter is left to God alone.

Secondly, there are people who spoke about the wrong done in the “Muslim” world. Aren’t there wrongs done in the Jude o-Christian world too? Aren’t there people who were raised going to church as Christians do wrong things too? If you assert as Christians that all sins are sins then shouldn’t the scales be balanced and just? Why the onslaught of slander and distortion of information against one set of people? Aren’t they human beings like you as well?

Additionally, the wrongs that go on in Muslim lands today is as a result of alien culture that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Islam – be it the murder of unarmed combatants, FGM (female genital mutilation), honor killings. These things are clearly from IGNORANCE of Islam. Similarly there are some Dominicans who go to Guadeloupe, some traffic drugs, murder people, it’s happening in St. Maarten/Martin; does this mean these were the Christian values taught to these young men and women who perform these evil actions? Of course not, it’s ignorance of Christianity.

I invite everyone to be objective, when one is emotional or have a preconceived notion about an issue, it clouds reasoning and proper judgement. I am posting a video which will inform in a very non confrontational way about Islam. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You did not prove any point here, as you spoke about the human attitude and conducts–the mass number of people, regardless of who they will always maintain that behavior–unless they enter the process of mind renewal by faith.

For the Battle of Life takes place on the grounds of the Mind. This mind has to be in its right shape, to deal with that battle for victory in you and me.

So it is inexcusable to say that you people are doing it too, so why not us, besides most or all of your attitude and conducts is based on religion–you believe you are doing this for God Almighty, but He despises your practice.

Also the practice of Muslims are still in present times–Jesus is in the process of teaching His people the Ways of God Almighty by the Power of Holy Spirit–in other words God is perfecting His chosen people in this world–we are the Sheep and the rest is goats. Not everyone who claim to be a Christian is so in God’s opinion–the Sheep is destined to go on His right and the Goat on the left–think for yourself from here.

However, Mohammed is still in his grave, what can he do for you? Do not simply rely on the Quran, it is still just a book just like the Bible is–if one does not have the Holy Spirit to convict him and her? The Book and the Spirit must stand together.

There is one on a US Catholic Radio program and probably a few of them throughout the US, Christianity vs Islam and vice versa. It pinpoints the difference between Christianity and Islam. That is about it. Nothing to learn about Islam except the difference and the constant lack of peace which Islam people generate to Christans and Jews worldwide.
Our Almighty Father through His Blessed Son Our Lord Jesus established One Religion, One Church. I, personally would not be interested in learning anything about Islam or any other religion which is not of my faith and religion. It is of no use to me. I am grounded in my Faith.

    • September 19, 2013

      Muslim Always:

You say these terrible things that are being done in Muslim lands are “the result of alien culture.”

      This doesn’t make sense because:

      (a) These things are being done IN Muslims lands. The MORE Muslim the nation is – the more devoted they are to Islam – the more these things take place.

      (b) They are being done BY Muslims. Christians and Jews do not practice FGM, honor killings, or suicide bombings.

      (c) These things do NOT happen in the western world unless they are done by Muslims immigrants. We have had several (two or three) honor killings in Canada that I know of. But they were committed by Muslims not people of any other faith.

      (d) They were devoted Muslims – not nominal Muslims on the fringes of Islam. These were people who rejected foreign culture, even the culture and customs of Canada, their adopted land.

While Christians are being persecuted in Muslim nations, their homes and churches are being burned down, their pastors are being imprisoned and killed, their women are being beaten and raped in the streets, Muslims in Canada are being given citizenship, and receive the the free benefits of our government health care insurance. They put their children in school. They are given jobs, and buy houses. They build their mosques and worship under the protection of our wonderful freedom of religion.

Muslims by the thousands are coming to the western nations. We welcome them in Canada. We pray that they will come to know the true and living God – the God of the Bible. He is a God of love.

When people leave the Christian faith (which does not happen often) we grieve. But we don’t stop loving them. We do not threaten them. We don’t kill them.

When somebody take the name of our blessed Lord Jesus in vain, or curses Him, or when somebody mocks our God or the Bible, or one of our religious leaders, we may weep. We pray for them and bless them. The Bible tells us to do good unto them. We do not take out a contract on their lives to have them killed. Why? Because our God is a God of love! When the Lord Jesus hung on the cross He looked down on those who tortured Him, those who were killing Him, and prayed, “Father forgive them because they do not know what they are doing.”

Muslim, I pray for you that you will encounter the risen Christ – the Christ of love – and someday be one of His.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

The God of the Bible is a God of love. If somebody leave the Christian faith we grieve

I don’t see too many Muslim tv shows being beemed all over the world.
Nor Muslims all over the world in tribal villages trying to convert anybody.

      • August 27, 2013

        @playboy August 27, 2013

I remind you that Christianity is not a religion; it is a personal or intimate Relationship with our God of Love, in Spirit and Truth.

You are wrong to think that Christianity is forcing itself on you. As from the beginning God gave you “free will”: He said you obey and you live or you disobey and you die–it is your choice to believe and accept Jesus and His claims or not to do so.

However Jesus said that the Gospel must be preached to all the world and then the end will come. In other words He want to make sure that all people heard the “Truth” and to decide for themselves what to do with that “Truth”.

So that is what you are seeing on Television–for the most part of the time. God has called many preachers and teachers as He speaks the Gospel through by the Power of Holy Spirit–not by their own human wisdom and philosophy

At God’s appointed time you cannot tell Him I did not know, you have confirmed that, in your post here–that the Gospel is being preached to the world.

      • August 28, 2013

 Happy to tell you what I think!

I am an evangelist who travels internationally to tell people  about Jesus :!:

Yes, we try to “convert” people because Jesus Christ said “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (St. John 14:6) St. Peter said “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) St. Paul said “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14) 8)

Christians are the only people who have a message of good news about a Savior who loved us enough to die for our sins and rise again. We have a gospel that tells people how they can be saved – have their sins forgiven – and have peace with God – and be sure of a home in heaven. :)

        1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 1:16, St. John 3:16, St. John 3:36, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:9,10, 1 John 5:11-13.

Billy Graham explained it this way. He said if somebody discovered a cure for cancer and kept it a secret, not sharing it with the world, that person would be the worst kind of criminal! Christians have discovered the cure for the spiritual disease of the soul called sin. It is our responsibility to tell people! :-o

It should not surprise anybody that we evangelize. No other people on earth have such a joyful and glorious message to share with the nations :!:

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

Christianity is the same – nobody should be competing over each others bodies. That’s why you never see those who totally devote themselves to God such as catholic nuns in these things . We should be clothed and covered and seeking humility not glory. Unfortunately, the rest of the church is ‘allowed’ to do it. Somehow the difference in the West is that we ignore all the laws of God to do whatever we want. Sad! As one priest said we do enough to go back to God but not enough to avoid purgatory.

Miss World Pageant was already organized. Obviously, they received approval to hold it in Indonesia and being a beautiful country. Many countries are given the opportunity to host this pageant.
So what is it with those Islamic people? In addition, I am certain that many people, no exception some Muslims were looking forward to seeing it, if only on TV with some admiring the beauties. Do you think they will not? Think again. Do men close their eyes and turn away from beautiful women? Will they turn off their TV? I bet not and especially not the younger ones who are more modernized than their older counterparts.
These so-called leaders have a problem. They think they are the only people and sect residing in Indonesia?
Let us hope and pray that the pageant will take place with no problems. Let us also pray for Leslassa that all will be well with her.
I do expect that there will be ample security and undercover agents present.
I wish Leslassa well and hope she will bring back the crown. God bless her and protect her!

    • August 27, 2013

No Anon, there is a difference between the gay cruise ship coming to the shores of Dominica and a beauty pageant in Indonesia. 8-O

The cruise ship broke the law in Dominica. Anybody who isn’t willing to obey Dominica’s laws has no right to enter its waters or set foot on its land.

The beauty pageant in Indonesia will not break the law in that country. If it is not legal it will not happen.

The men on the cruise ship obviously had their genitals parts exposed. :-x

The ladies in the pageant if it takes place will not be exposing their genitals.

The men on the cruise ship were buggering each other openly before an audience of men, women, and children.

The ladies in the pageant will not be having any physical contact with each other whatsoever. It is a “beauty pageant” not a sex show.

The men on the cruise ship were committing a sex act that is a sin “against nature” according to Romans 1:26-28, as well as a crime against the Commonwealth of Dominica.

What the young women do in a beauty pageant is immodest and inappropriate in the opinion of many Christians. This is based upon our understanding of the Scriptures. :(

However, what the ladies do is not an act “against nature”. It will create thoughts and feelings of lust in some weak minded men. But it will not send out the message that the unatural act of buggery is O.K. :!:

Can you recall a time when a man and a woman in Dominica put on a public sex show for all to see? Some may have been caught “doing it” but it’s not likely they intended anybody to see them. Obviously, some people are more prone to such behavior than others.

Governments do have a right to pass laws against any act or performance they are convinced is immoral or inappropriate for their people. We are to obey such laws according to Romans 13:1-4.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist. 8)

I am talking about even before that incident. I’m not even talking about any ‘buggery’ which I also find disgusting, though in my opinion, having a law against that is just crap (how would you even enforce something like that unless it happens in public – which reverts to gross indecency). I am talking about just the fact that a ‘gay’ cruise was going to come into dominica (which in no way was going to violate the law) the evangelical association in d/a got all riled up. It’s the same thing here, just a different taboo.

  12. August 26, 2013

The Bible says “…women (should) adorn themselves in modest apparel,…” (1 Timothy 2:9)

Jesus said, “…whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (St. Matthew 5:28)

Evangelical Christians who want to live pleasing to God will let these principles and scriptures like 1 Peter 2:11, 1 John 2:15-17, and 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 guide their lives.

We realize the majority of people do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the new birth (St. John 3:3) according to St. Matthew 7:13,14. We know the Christian standards of holiness mean nothing to them. We don’t expect them to live as we do.

But when I read this story I thought how ironic it is. Muslims have such little regard for women. A man can have four wives. A woman can only have one husband. Men are allowed to beat their wives into submission. They practice female circumcision where they are able to get away with it. I am still hearing of honor killings in Muslim countries. In some Muslim sects a woman cannot answer the door unless she is wearing a veil. Some groups won’t allow their women to walk to the store or market place unless she is accompanied by a male relative. Many times young women are either not allowed to attend school or discouraged from doing so. An effort is made to keep them from entering the professions. This is the religion that inspired and energized 9-11 killing thousands of people, both men and women.

We may not endorse beauty pageants but many of us wouldn’t trust the judgment of an Islamic organization in any matter involving women. Hopefully our decision would be based on something more reputable.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

You would find that most ordained ministers in my denomination (the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) have a basic knowledge of the great religions of the world including Islam. It takes three years of study and another two years of practical experience before a ministerial candidate can be ordained. Even then not all who go through the program are excepted. After this many of our ministers take additional courses to receive degrees. 8)

However, most of what I know about Islam is what I have learned from reading the newspapers and watching the news and documentaries on both Canadian and American television during the past 30 years especially since 9-11. As far as I know none of this information has been challenged. :-P All the newspapers and television stations have said – and continue to say the same things.

These are millions of people out there who follow the media and know what I have said about Islam and the way Muslims treat women  is true. These facts are so well known it did not require much additional research to write on this subject. I have written articles on a variety of theological and social subjects which have been published in over 40 secular and religious newspapers and magazines in Canada and the U.S.A.

I have had four books published, taught in Bible Colleges, worked as a paid pastoral counselor, and hosted a weekly radio show for two years.

Taking “skin exposure” a stage further; as a painter and sculptor of the nude human form, I often quote for my students the words that the great artist and teacher, Robert Henri wrote over hundred years ago:

“There is nothing in all the world more beautiful or significant of the laws of the universe than the nude human body. It is not only among artists, but among all people that a greater appreciation and respect for the human body should develop. When we respect the nude we will no longer have any shame about it.”

    • September 2, 2013

Many of us believe nudity belongs in the bedroom between a husband and wife. God created men in such a way that the appearance of a naked female at an appropriate time can produce sexual arousal. Females often respond more to touch than sight. These things are a beautiful part of the exclusive relationship called “holy matrimony”.

A husband and wife can see each other naked without any sense of shame. The Bible say they are “…one flesh…” (Matthew 19:6) But no decent man wants his wife appearing this way in front of other men. A man who is satisfied with his wife doen’t want to look at naked or scantily clad women.

Insecure people unconsciously seeking confirmation of their sexual orientation are frequently attracted to – and display – nude paintings and sculpures. It is not unusual to see these things in their homes. They are less common among heterosexuals in stable happy marriages.

The beauty pageants are based upon false values.

The fact that the women are dressed inappropriately is not only offensive to Muslims but also to others.

However, this Muslim organization is a lobby group. They are doing what Muslims do. When they gain a significant representation in a country they push their religion and way of life which has never worked well even in Muslim lands.

One only has to look at the turmoil, violence, and bloodshed that characterizes nations that are predominately Muslim to see this.

The fact that it has never worked well even in Muslim lands is also evident in the fact that so many Muslims are moving to Western countries to find opportunities and a better way of life.

It is ironic and sad to see Muslims in the western world speaking or writing in defence of Islam when they themselves chose not to live in a Muslim nation!

Young Muslim women by the thousands are coming to Canada to live free of Islamic oppression, get an education, and gain a career. Here they are appreciated contributing members of society and treated as equals with ther male counter parts.

Because of Islam’s bad track record in the way they treat their women folk no government should allow any Muslim organization to have any in-put in a matter involving women’s issues.

Evangelical Christian Bishops and pastors usually teach their congregations the Biblical principles of modesty and morality. They should speak out on any matter they feel violates these principles if they believe it is something that threatens the well being of the wider community. Everybody has a right “to stand up for what they believe in” but in a situation like this what determines the decision should be left to those who have credibility.

Egypt at the present time is a showcase window for Islam.

One Islamic sect at war with another Islamic sect.

      Muslims killing Muslims.

      Muslims killing Christians.

Muslims burning down the homes and churches of Christians.

Muslims killing Christian pastors and church workers.

These are not isolated incidents. There is wide spread mass murder and destruction with bodies and blood everywhere.

They do not know that the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is a God of love.

Jesus said “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (St. John 3:16)

Jesus said “All men will know that you are my disciples because you love one another.”

He said “Love you enemies. Do good to them that hate you. If your enemy is hungry give him to eat. If he is thirsty give him to drink.”

Obviously, the “god” of Islam is not the God of the Bible.

The Muslim world is starved for this love. They don’t have a God who loved them enough to provide a Savior who would die for their sins – a God they can know and have a personal relationship with.

Thank God, we have missionaries in Muslim lands preaching the true story of Jesus and His wonderful love! When they are arrested by the Muslim authorities they are beaten, put in prison, or killed. But other missionaries go and take their places. Why is this? 8-O It is because they love the Muslim people. They want them to know our Savior who alone can save them, setting them free from their anger and hatred, and give them peace.

The Christian message is making sense to the Muslim people. The Muslim religious leaders know the only way they can stop them from becoming Christians is to threaten to kill those who convert! But even with this death threat hanging over them Muslims are turning to Christ.

Yes! They will do well to cease the killing of innocent people throughout the world as they say Allah told them to commit murder; some Allah. They are a menace to peace and security of world-society.
The US government is on the alert for possible terrorism which they have traced as a possibility. 9/11 is fast approaching.
They detest this pageant taking place in Indonesia but they will encourage murder and of Christians, calling us infidels when they are the infidels.
Mohammed whom they revere was a Christian Catholic. Some people think that they can change their faith and religion as they do their clothes, taking short-cuts to God. God is not deceived. They will not win in the end.
His life was not an exemplary one. That man left unrest and murders behind him. This will continue until the end of time unless God puts a hand to still them. As I will always state, I wonder where is his soul in eternity.
In Holy Scripture: “Some people sins precede them to eternity. Others are followed by their sins.”
These people are not considerate and do not compromise. It is the same manner they treat their wives/women.
Big bunch of hypocrites, those who cannot live in peace and harmony with others and respect their life, religion and preferences.
Yet when they reside in a different country as Canada, US and Europe they want the country to change their laws and religious one at that, to suit them. Due to their attitude, I can tell you they are not loved. It is stated that Islam religion is a wicked one; not a peaceful one. God will take care of them in time.

“Because exposing their bodies in a contest is against Islamic teachings–New Article

One more example of the principles of religion–which evolved from the carnal mind of human beings; I wonder when will they ever come to know that Our God of Spirit and Truth, wants nothing to do with the religion of man. Jesus died to set us free from the slavery of religious rules and regulations.

That is why God Almighty said through His prophet Isaiah: These people honor Me with their lips but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. Isaiah 29: 13.

God was talking about His own people, who were the Israelites. Jesus repeated that saying in the Gospels–because He wanted His Church, who would later be called Christians–Jews and Gentiles–to know that Life in Love happens by faith; “not by works lest anyone should boast” Ephesians 2: 8-9

There is nothing wrong with opposing to the display of uncovered bodies–but what does this opposition has to do with having the heart of God and His Mind of Love? Nothing! For they claim it is against their religion, a concept which does not glorify the Holy and Almighty God.

The concept of religion belongs to the world it glorifies the men and women of the world who takes it lead.

Religion has nothing to do with the Spirit–which has to be the Life in man, as he learns to demonstrate Love, which is the attitude and conducts of the Person of Almighty God, who is Christ in Love. His name is Jesus–not Mohammed, Buddha, Haleslassie, or even the Great Martin Luther King Jr. and Billy Graham.

Christianity is not a “religion”. Christianity demands a Spiritual rebirth, which is followed by the growth and practice of Love, motivated in us through a personal or intimate relationship with God Almighty and through our channel of faith.

Without faith we cannot please God, but this faith belongs in Jesus Christ, who is God’s Person of Love in the flesh.

And so Jesus tells us: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man can come to the Father but by Me”. John 14: 6–not by his religious practice.

A Christian ought to be a disciple of Jesus; and so He tells us: “If you are My disciples you will abide in My Words and you will know the Truth and the Truth will make you free”. John 8: 31 There is no question about this.

Where did you get the idea Lizavier that Islam is a “religion?”

The scholars spoke about “Islamic/Muslim TEACHINGS. Weren’t there teachings of Jesus Christ (p) too?

Islam is a complete way of life, it means submission to do the will of God. Islam comes from the root word S-L-M which means means that’s why when quite a few Dominicans greet Muslims they say As S-a-L-a-M alaikum – peace be with you. This is echoed by Jesus according to the bible in John 14:27, John 20:21 and many other verses in the Gospels Christians believe in.

A Muslim is one who submits to the will of the Most High. Doesn’t it say Lizavier in John 6:38 “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” There are so many verses wherein Jesus clearly expressed his submission to the will of God.

We believe in all divinely revealed scriptures given to all the prophets and messengers (peace be upon them). We believe in all scriptures revealed by God and it is the same God Jesus prayed to directly, we follow him and all the prophets in that way.

I leave you this video so that you will have a better understanding of what Islam is all about. Thank you very much for your patience.

I have always told you that you are a confused person. How ludicrous it is to say that Christianity is not a religion. You profess and believe in Jesus Christ,do you know that the belief in Jesus Christ is the foundation of Christianity.

You love using the phrase carnal mind.I wonder if you really understood the meaning of such phrase. To say that religion evolved of the human carnal mind is such blasphemy to Christianity.
Christianity is the largest Religion in the world with some 2.1 billion followers, and yes it is classified as a religion.

      • August 28, 2013

        The Bible says:

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27) 8-O

Gary, thank you for acknowledging that Christianity is a religion! :-P

To put it in perspective let me say this.

All true Christianity includes religion in the Biblical sense of James 1:27. 8)

However, not every religion (as the word “religion” is used in the modern popular sense today) is true Christianity or even claims to be.

There is much in modern organized religion to turn people off on religion. :( But for 2,000 years there have been gatherings (congregations) of believers in Jesus Christ who have sincerely tried – and still sincerely try – to follow the simplicity of the New Testament. :-D

Some of these congregations remained independent (unaffiliated) local churches. Others have joined together with other congregations holding the same beliefs and have agreed to do things together rather than independently. These are known as denominations.

 I encourage people to read – study – the New Testament beginning with St. John’s Gospel. Look for a congregation that preaches and lives what you read. Find believers in Jesus Christ who love one another. When you do you will have found HIS CHURCH!

    Prostitution in Indonesia
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Prostitution in Indonesia is legally considered a “crime against decency/morality”, although it is widely practiced, tolerated and regulated. Some women are financially motivated to become prostitutes, while others may be forced by friends, relatives or strangers. Traditionally, they have met with customers in entertainment venues or special prostitution complexes, or Relokalisasi. There are 4 (four) types of prostitution in Indonesia: (a) Prostitutes who come from particular areas, (b) prostitution in their workpalce. (c) prostitution and life style, and (d) prostitution and the ritual beliefs

Don’t the Muslims know this? Why don’t they meet to discuss this grave situation and find ways and means to give females more independence and power to work and do things for themselves? Females hardly any say in such societies. This is what they should spend their time fixing.

      • September 3, 2013

Muslims have no intention of “fixing” their attitude towards women, the way they treat them, or the inferior status of women in Muslim socety.
They will make no efford to lift women to a level of equality or better their lot in life.

Is it a sense of inability to compete on the part of the men that causes them to keep the women in a place of subordination :?:

Sadly, Muslim men seem to have an underlying fear of women. They think they must keep them down or they will rise above them. 8)

Why else would they refuse to let their little girls attend school? Or block young women from entering the professions? Or keep women out of management/leadership positions in business and government?

Muslims in western nations may deny that they do these things. But in predominately Muslim nations these situations are common. The state of women in some Islamic lands is one of oppression.

The Indonesian Beauty Pageant is only another opportunity for Muslim men to say NO to a group of young women who are trying to accomplish something in life and make make their home country proud. I do not agree with beauty pageants. But it is obvious the reason this Muslim organization gives (though valid) is only an excuse to do what they do best and that is put women down. Otherwise they would be protesting the other social evils and vices that Indonesia is famous for.

Muslim: What this Islamic organization is asking for – the banning the beauty pageant – is reasonable.

None of us want women to be treated like sex objects and that happens at a beauty pageant.

The pageants promote a false set of values. Every normal man likes to see a beautiful women. But is natural physical beauty so important that it should be celebrated at a pageant? When beauty becomes a priority it is a false value. We are not saying enough about character, moral purity, honesty, kindness, charity, and a good work ethic, etc.

Who is taking into consideration the fact that for every woman who wins there are many who lose? These ladies worked as hard as the winner or winners. They are disappointed and hurt. Their families share their feelings.

If the beauty pageants could be replaced with something more constructive it may be a good thing. To even imply that the best a woman can do is “strut her stuff” on a runway or stage is a put down of women.

However, I do have a problem with an Islamic organization giving advice to the government in any matter regarding women. No religion or government party on earth has ever degraded women or treated them as badly as Islam has. When Muslims deny this they only cause themselves to lose credibility.

It is a sad and tragic day when any nation allows Islam to dictate government policy.

Mohammed’s father said on his death bed, “Fight the infidels until they say Allah.” Can you imagine that? This is another soul I also wonder where it is in eternity.
These people should have a country of their own and never migrate to other countries. Note how they falsely indoctrinate some gullible Christians to renounce their faith and join theirs. Some religion.
When I resided in Dominica, up to a few years ago the only religion I considered which is a religion is Christianity. In recent years since they migrated to Canada and elsewhere we are hearing that they call their beliefs “a religion.” Some religion. I still do not consider Islam a religion. They are not worshipping our God, The Blessed Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit of love, compassion, forgiveness and peace who has taught us how to live accordingly with one another as a condition for obtaining eternal salvation in Heaven.

      • August 28, 2013

“Fight the infidels until they say Allah.” (Words said to be spoken by Mohammed’s father.)

Truth and Justice, you don’t have to wonder where any man who would speak those words is in eternity. :(

The one truth and living God loved him so much He sent His Son to die for him so He could be saved.
God raised His Son from the dead on the third day to show that He accepted the sacrifice of His Son’s death as payment in full for the sins of the whole world including him! (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 with Romans 1:16) 8)

Such love! Such wonderous love! :-D

All that poor soul had to do was confess that he was a sinner (Romans 3:10,23) acknowledge that He could not saved himself (Ephesians 2:8,9), and receive Jesus Christ as his Savior (St. John 1:12, 1 John 5:11,12, Revelation 3:20) If he didn’t do this he is in hell: NOT because God didn’t love him and provide for his salvation but because he rejected God’s love! :(

        The Bible declares:

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: :lol and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (St. John 3:36)

One only needs to contrast that man’s words to Christianity. As a Christian I would say to my fellow Christians “Love the unbelievers. Be good to them. Share with them the wonderful story of Jesus and His love. Tell them …

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (St. John 3:16

Christianity is such a contrast to Islam! We tell our people “Love the unbelievers (including the Muslims) until they say JESUS:!:

HIS name is above ALL names!

“…at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow… and… every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10,11)

People who stand against sin are not “hypocrites” because they sometimes fall short. If they say they are perfect and never fail they are hypocrites.

There are social problems in Indonesia you would not want in Dominica.

I have not had the pleasure of visiting Dominica but I am aware of the facts that (a) there is a strong presence of true Christians on the island who know and love the Lord, (b) there are servants of God in Dominica who are preaching the genuine gospel of Jesus Christ as it is set forth in the scriptures of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 1:16, Romans 4:1-7, Ephesians 2:8,9, 1 John 5:11,12, and Revelation 3:20, and (c) Dominica still has laws in place that honor God, and family values.

Thank God for those who stand against immorality and vice even if at times they are less than perfect and pray or them. It was a lack of righteous men that brought down God’s judgment on Sodom and Gomorrha.

Three normal desires drive human beings forward in life: The desire for identity, accomplishment, and recognition. These three things are responsible for the advancement of civilization.

These are all good aspirations. They are the reasons we study, practice, and work. People enter the professions, the entertainment industry, the business world, politics, or the military because they want to be somebody, achieve goals, and be recognized.

Most people begin by using what they have: such things as physical strength, intelligence, skills, and talents. We gradually discover the content and measure of each of these things in our life and pursue work we will enjoy doing.

But there are people who depend upon good looks, beauty, charm, glamor, and sex appeal to give them an advantage in life. Hollywood is full of people enticed by the false values of the world who are using their “assets” to take the short road to money and fame.

As long as there are beauty pageants there will be these kind of young women entering the contests. For many it will be a short stint and they will leave unharmed with whatever they have gained. Some will be worse off because of negative influences. A few may find it a gateway to a broader career.

Young Christian women who love the Lord and want to please Him will look to the Word of God for guidance and take scriptures like Matthew 5:28, and 1 John 2:15-17, along with 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 into prayerful consideration.

Far more important to be a “handmaiden” of the Lord in these days! The highest calling for any woman in this 21 century is to be an endtime messenger for Jesus Christ!

There is no better way to achieve identity, accomplishment, and recognition!

If JESUS is not Lord of all He is not Lord at all!

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

thats why i nevr pay too much attention to these religious circles. every religion expects the whole word to respect them and and bow to their beliefs while being completely ignorant to the fact that THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY RELIGION PRESENT IN THIS WORLD.

while ur religion is against half naked women, islam is not the only religion present in indonesia. and they apparently have no problem with it. y attempt to stop a world pageant, where the organisers have obviously compromised already to suit u, just because u have a problem with a segment?

two things that’re gonna bring these world down – religion and politics. smh

I am not Muslim, Islam or do I subscribe to any part of their religion.

That being said, I think a lot of you are being rather hypocritical. If a country is predominantly of a particular religion then it is logical to conclude that most of the occupants of the territory share in that belief system. While the organizers did make some concessions, it would have been more logical for them to have simply moved the pageant to another country. But as to why this was not done, we don’t know. That aside, we need to now realize that in the same way we as a predominantly Christian nation took offense to the men who were having sex on the cruise ship a few years back, why then can we no understand and accept the Islamic community not wanting the show in Indonesia based on religious principles? We need to be willing to offer the same respect that we demand at all times and not just when it suits us or we’re comfortable with it.

Let me re-iterate that while I do not agree with or support the rampant prostitution or any other form of de-gradation that woman may suffer in that or any other culture, I am saying that we need to learn to be more tolerant and respectful of ppl’s beliefs.

      Good luck Leslassa!

If you are a baptized Christian and you were brought up in this faith, you should know that the Only Religion that God established in the world is Christianity, 2000 years ago. Other religions are man-made. You should know their history, their leaders, how they were formed and in what year.
When the world will be brought down with human beings and everything else in it, it will not be human beings doing but God, when He is good and ready and angry enough about the immorality in the world as also recognition of homosexuality and lesbianism and this same sex so-called marriage. This one will make him come sooner to cleanse the world of every evil. This is the greatest abomination to the Lord which warrants eternal damnation. I hope you are not one of those as you do not speak well of religion.
Read Joel the Prophet, Chapter 3 in the Old Testament.

Why do you make make such silly statements.I’m referring to your statement quote “that the Only Religion that God established in the world is Christianity, 2000 years ago.Other religions are man-made” how ludicrous. All religions are man made and Christianity is no exemption.Have you not read about the atrocities Christianity has perpetrated through it’s history, regarding The Dark Ages and Inquisition. If Christianity was a religion created by God why is it they got their facts wrong regarding science pertaining to the universe, like believing that the Earth was the center of the universe. You live in Canada, tell me how a religion like Christianity ill treated The Native Indians, is this a religion created by God.

When you talk about God coming to clean up the greatest evil on this planet religion cannot be spared from being part of this great evil perpetrated on man kind in his name.
