Federal judge Timothy J. Kelly sided with CNN on Friday morning, ordering the White House to reinstate chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta’s press pass immediately.
The ruling was an initial victory for CNN in its lawsuit against President Trump and several top aides. The suit alleges that CNN and Acosta’s First and Fifth Amendment rights are being violated by the suspension of his press pass.
Kelly did not rule on the underlying case on Friday. But he granted CNN’s request for a temporary restraining order. And he said he believes that CNN and Acosta are likely to prevail in the case overall.
The first thing a dictator does is shut down the news media that is critical of them and then install their own propaganda station, Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini did that. I am a US citizen from Michigan who stayed at the Ft Young Hotel in August. I was extremely saddened to see that the only “news” available on the TV was from CNN. This is completely fake news. If you love freedom and are interested in freedom and opportunity, then just take whatever CNN reports and imagine the essentially the opposite, and that will be far closer to the actual truth. DNO if I were you I would not report this news item because it is to me, like shooting yourself and what we call the media in Dominica. It was the MS media that stood together, including FOX, a pro Republican network. In Dominica the media is so afraid of Roosevelt Skerrit which to me is the main reason why Dominica in such a mess. Take for example when Skerrit hinted that he (one man) might take Ross University to court. That statement was made when Skerrit met with visiting Dominicans on November 4. Two weeks later has anyone seen DNO post an article on this subject? To our shame I see it on Barbados news online, St Lucia News online, St. Vincent , Grenada, Caribbean news now, Jamaica Observer, St. Kitts news, Antigua, Trinidad, MENAFN – News784) (CNS), even on WAVS news in Florida bot not one thing from DNO, although it was said in Dominica by the Nations PM.
