Radiation detected in US rainwater

Traces of radioactive iodine linked to quake-hit Japan’s nuclear power plant have been found in rainwater samples taken last week in Massachusetts, US.

The low level of radioiodine-131detected in Massachusetts rainwater samples is comparable to the amounts found in California, Washington and Pennsylvania.

However, public health officials say the pollution poses no threat to drinking supplies, Reuters reported on Monday.

“The drinking water supply in Massachusetts is unaffected by this short-term, slight elevation in radiation,” said Massachusetts Public Health Commissioner John Auerbach.

“We will carefully monitor the drinking water as we exercise an abundance of caution,” he added.

Health officials also say they have found no detectable radiation in air samples examined in Massachusetts.

Admin continue to give the news … This is necessary .. Too many of our people are not reading and does not know what is happenning around the world and then they cannot be thankful to the Father for our country.

Also because of that , so many uninformed persons are walking around and dependant on those who thrive on spreading lies and rumours.

    Good work DNO!

I certainly agree with you Admin… If you don’t want to read certain news stories then don’t. And this is certainly informative, and worth knowing about. SMH at some people.

And what do they consider a low level? Notice they never print the numbers.
It is a threat to health that is being played down.

Allah knows what he is doing…very soon the war will be about water.

Dominica must step up it’s game and start marketing it’s water to export. Billions of dollars in water is going into the sea everyday.

Its not a scare tactic zeh zeh, its just a means of information. It is meant to inform the public that radiation has crossed over the continent of America and is now on the East coast which is alot closer to the caribbean WHERE WE LIVE.
If that is not news then the earthquake in Japan wasnt news, the War in Libya is not news. So tell me Mr. MOTH what would be news? IDIOT

      @ mouth of the south

You have stated a lot of nonsense. DNO Admin is correct to admonish you.
It is imperative that people keep informed. This is why it is called “News”. You would rather they live in ignorance of what is occurring in the world? Reading is also educating.
You are too bold-faced to inform DNO what should be reported.
You are talking about those people being scared of what they hear. Who are those people? Are you referring to yourself?
I do think that those people have enough of that in their daily lives, scared of every possible criminals and murderers and certain animals. By now, they should be accustomed to being scared.
There are some people who will state that they do not want to hear anything scary. “Don’t tell me they will say. I do not want to hear.”
The worst will be when they stand before God, if per chance they are not yet ready to do so, this will be extremely scary and for all eternity.
Better to be an informed person rather than an uninformed one and to live in ignorance of the truth as current news.

Here’s a scary thought then, there is quite possibly no god and our entire existence is just chaos with no reason or purpose. If you didn’t understand a word of that then good, sometimes ignorance is bliss.
