When a stretch of the Goldstream River on Vancouver Island unexpectedly turned neon green last week, residents and scientists alike were concerned.
Those who saw the river worried about the effect the contamination might have on fish and wildlife. They can now breathe a sigh of relief.
Water samples now prove the cause of the water’s unusual colour was the presence of fluorescein, a tracing product usually used to find leaks and diagnose medical conditions and is non-toxic.

I am in Canada too and I make it my business to read the news and listen to the news specifically on CTV Toronto and the late evening news including CP 24 its sister Station. I had to read this on DON. Those TV Stations broadcast all sorts of news as crimes and many times throughout the day and night but this one appears to be hidden from us who reside in Canada. I will write those Stations and inform them why was this information not broadcasted to the Canadian people – all over Canada. They will obviously make excuses which I will not accept. I am upset and not satisfied with them.

Family Guy, unless you have lived in a huge country like Canada, you will not understand. But do not think Canada, or those who live here is behind time; it is completely the opposite. In Canada it is start it up finish up and move on the next item.

Thank you for reminding of that dish. I really used to hate fig–green bananas– when I was a child. Perhaps it is because mama, and them adults, used to cook it too often; and they used to feed us with fig alone with a little piece of whatever the meat was–mostly salt fish though; I mean no dasheen, no yam, no tania–edo. Anyway that was just too much fig for me to eat, sometimes for lunch and super too! So I grew up hating fig. But I still love dumplin.
What I have been trying to remember is: Daddy used to cook the red beans (no fig, he did not fancy fig too much either) dumplin and jel coushou (I am just following your spelling) I hope you are talking about “pig snout” as I am thinking. I am just wondering! Is that the cook up that we used to call bullchaawe–I cannot even spell it–but I hope you understand.
