US pastor killed in rattlesnake attack during church service

The pastor

A Pentecostal pastor famed for handling snakes during church sermons has died after being bitten by a rattlesnake.

Mark “Mack” Wolford, 44, was well-known across the US state of Virginia for his lively church services, which included handling dangerous snakes in a ‘test of faith’. But the pastor died after being bitten by a rattlesnake he had owned for years, mirroring the death of his own father in 1983.

He has gone to his eternal judgment. He now fully knows the difference between right from wrong, good and evil and as all is exposed to those who die, he has seen the reality of his sins and knows the mistakes that he made and as a false prophet. He now knows which Church is The One and Only True Church which Our Lord Jesus Christ established on earth. This will be revealed to the doubters, the deniers, the critics and the enemies of this Church. God will reveal it to them.
God is not to be taken for granted. He is not to be mocked. There are too many false prophets in this world who place themselves at par with God and who think they are experts of Holy Scriptures when they are far from it and lack true interpretation of it. The liars, cheaters and hypocrites.
Our Lord said: “Well did Isaiah say: “This people honor Me with their lips but their hearts are far from Me, in vain do they worship Me, preaching as doctrine, human precepts.”

This incident has more spiritual implications than the actual handling of the snake itself. It’s about the power God gave to men to have dominion over all creatures.

That’s what religion will do to you people. This has nothing to do with spirituality and divinity. The creator has no part to play in this foolishness. That’s why I will continue to say that we were given religion by these Europeans but we were always a spititual people by race. Religion and spirituality are different. Religion is man-made, to control a people’s mind so that one race will always dominate the other races. We have been told to believe by faith and sometimes that so called faith causes our death.
We need to stop being religious and rediscover our spirituality and diviness given to us by the creator at birth. We don’t need religion.

      @out of south city

I was about to give you a thumbs up until I read that line of yours: “We have been told to believe by faith, and sometimes that so-called faith causes our death”.

That is the idea of yours which caused me to change my mind about the thumbs up. You have spoken about an aspect which you do not understand; that is quite clear to me.

“Without faith we cannot please God!” This saying means that Faith is the channel by which we receive Life in Jesus Christ; hence faith could never cause our death–not spiritually nor physically.

Yes, it is true that we must live by faith, for faith teaches us to live Life in the Spirit–our existence with the control of a mind in its renewal process and a soul that is awakened, to blaze out the Love of Jesus Christ.

That blaze is spiritual Light, the stature of Life in us at our new birth. The is the form of existence which through which God will accept us.

This new birth is the stature of our Salvation, reconciled to our God of Spirit and Truth forever and ever. God is not of flesh and bones–the flesh profits nothing.

We are to maintain an intimate or personal spiritual relationship with God–we cannot do that without faith.

Wow,so you have now become an authority as to what faith is and what it means. It bewilders me when i read such gibberish from you such as quote “Without faith we cannot please God!” how absurd can you get with such statement presenting that as some truth. You must understand it is only true for you based on your religious beliefs which you are entitled to but it is not a universal truth.

I will tell you this, the divine principle which is responsible for all things does not need our faith in it to operate and do what it needs to do but rather our recognition and understanding of it. That divine principle is there to be discovered. You must also know that Faith must have adequate evidence, else it is mere superstition. Faith, well intentioned as it may be, must be built on facts, not fiction since faith in fiction is a damnable false hope.

Stop talking garbage. You have something against religion.  God sent His missionaries to preach the Gospel to the entire world. It is obvious you do not know what is contained in Holy Scriptures. This is why you renounced your Catholic faith, thinking that you are so intelligent. You made a grave mistake and will regret it for life to eternity.
I always say it depends on the type of life people live which is why some remain in the Catholic faith and others renounce their faith, the latter to their detriment. Even though you renounced your Catholic faith, you are still a Catholic because you were baptized. At this moment, since your mind is darkened and there is a veil covering it, you cannot see the light and the truth.
St. Paul said, “If our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled for those who are perishing” as you.

The problem with those who lead our churches is that they go into assignment of which they were not called, and so they do not have the guidance and teachings of Holy Spirit, by which they can follow through.

At Romans Chapter 10: 14-15 the apostle Paul explains why people do not receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He asked: “How then shall they call on Him (Jesus Christ) in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him (Jesus Christ) of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?

And so men and women are entering the Ministry of the Church because they claim to have attended this Bible College, that school of theology, and the other Seminary of whatever; but did they graduate from the School of the Holy Spirit, who connects to us and pours wisdom, understand, revelation and knowledge of God and His ways to our minds from conscience? The example of that Pastor in the news article says definitely “no at all”

But without Holy Spirit the person who try to presents the Word of God cannot speak the “Truth” Without Holy Spirit the person who try to demonstrate God’s Ways of Life will always present confusion and bafflement to those who wait on him or her.

When God did not call a person to do His work in or through that person, nothing will be accomplished. Unfortunately that is all we have everywhere in this world–men and women are claiming to have gotten the calling from God. It is just that the power of God is always fruitful for the Life of the person and others whom he or she deals with–God is Light and He wants nothing to do with the darkness of death, when people come together to worship Him, or else they will be destroyed by His wrath..

When Satan tempted Jesus to throw Himself down from the pinnacle of the Temple, as he suggested to Jesus that angels would save Him from that fall, Jesus rebuked Satan by telling him: “You shall not tempt the Lord your God”. Luke 4: 12

Why was this man so foolish to believe that God would interfere in his acts of Satan? Would he not think of himself as a god; and his witness, would they not raise up into the sky? Well God has said: “No flesh shall glory in my presence!” 1st Corinthians 1: 29

When God does His work in people or through them, that person or persons is never aware that they are serving God until later on, where they are alone with Him, He reminds them of their deed by the words of Holy Spirit. Those people have no choice but to give Him the glory through their personal testimony of the “Truth. I know what I am talking about!

As all those so-called pastors who formed their own churches beginning with Luther and Henry VIII to all others down through the ages, the false prophets preaching as if God sent them, deceiving themselves and their followers. I can tell you, you do not have the answer. You, too, were once a Catholic Christian and you renounced your faith. I do not want to know why you did. Please do not tell me. I have a few ideas, as stated, why people as you did.
I am unable to comprehend why it does not bother people as you that there are so many different religions in the world which have caused lack of love, division, peace and enmity. I love to say, one day all of you will find out your error too late.
God is holy, pure and perfect. Heaven is a place of joy, love, peace and unity. How do you think that all those people with all those false ideologies will ever enter Heaven? There will be no bickering, fighting and wars in Heaven. God has already thrown Satan out of it. Those who have formed their religion, beginning with Luther to today are acting just as Satan. If they cannot get along with other people and respect their religion as some criticize the Catholic Church of which they were also members, they will never be able to get along in Heaven. Therefore, they will obviously not make it to Heaven. God is taking note and testing us to see how well we have the qualities, the virtues of saints and deserve eternal salvation.
St. Paul, as inspired by the Holy Spirit, through his writings told us: “Nothing defiled will ever enter Heaven.” Some people delude themselves otherwise.

      • June 8, 2012

        @Justice and Truth

I have enougth spiritual wisdom, which tells me that I should ignore that post of yours above; the same as I do with most people with those sentiments like yours. But I just want you to know about it.

I won’t even give you a thumbs down. Holy Spirit will deal with that on my behalf. Have a good day, night, or morning!

      • June 8, 2012

And one more thing, Justice and Truth, I hope that you have read the Book of Acts, at Chapter 11 verse 26. Luke is the writer of the Book of Acts, so he said that the disciples of Jesus Christ were first called Christians–not Roman Catholics–at Antioch.

That is who I am; a devoted Christian who is in love with my God through His Person of Love, the name is Jesus Christ. I don’t care about the names that people give to their churches–even if the one I attend has a name as well, I wasn’t in this world when all of this was happening.

But I am aware that God’s chosen people are scattered all over in this world–no matter what the name of their church is– and He will gather them at His time. Read Jesus’ parables about the goat and sheep or the wheat and tare at Matthew 13 and 25, you will see for yourself what I am talking about.

I have been maintaining an intimate relationship with Him for many years now; no church, pastor, preacher, or priest taught me to know God more as I learn to love Him–if not the teaching and guidance of His Holy.

That was how, by faith, I conceived Love–the nature of God, who gives us Life, and so, I gave birth to the blaze of Light that shines in my now awakened soul.

Jesus said to the man Nicodemus–“Unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God”. Read that at John 3 I am a born again Christian from since the first week in September of 1998.

When did you experience the new birth? When did your carnal mind enter its state of renewal? The man-made rules of regulations of most churches like yours will not take you to heaven.

The apostle Paul teaches that Salvation comes by the grace of God, through faith, and not by ourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2: 8-9

You are the one who will find that out when it is too late. So don’t trouble me about the social club that you maintain in your church.

The text that Corinthians is referring to comes from Exodus when the snakes were sent as punishment upon Israel for testing God. It was not that the Israelites used snakes to test God at all. Jehovah God do not put people to the test he is a fair God. People put themselves to the test. If I put my hand in fire knowing that it will burn me why would I say is God putting me to the test. Why do we always blame God!

Con man illusionist pastor – an act gone bad .The snake keeper either forgot to remove the venom or he set up the pastor for unpaid wages. A true testimony that religion is just a money making institution –these religious conductors are just as corrupt as politicians. Instead of doing their act in Vegas they perform their act to people who are weak minded and seeking religion as their source of comfort.

The pastor is a fool, but I don’t blame them too much. It is the congregation I blame for following these quacks.

There was Jim Jones and David Koresh, yet they don’t seem to learn anything from these chalatans.

      @ Tiger

They come in many colors, those who infiltrated Dominica. I was shocked when I visited DA to see many churches. They even exist in residential areas. One Sunday night, they commenced singing and they were so loud and continued late in the evening that they disturbed the peace to the extend the occupants of the house could not hear what their visitors were saying and could not listen to their TV or radio. They could not carry-on a conversation because of their loud music and singing. They should be arrested and charged for disturbing the peace of the residents. The government should never allow them to build their so-called churches in residential areas.

…And our local fanatics are less fanatical? Give them a fer-de-lance and the passage about venomous snakes and see if a few don’t try to handle them….
