More questions are being raised about Lifeline Christian Fellowship, in the aftermath of infidelity allegations against its headman and pastor, Bernard Joseph.
Journalist, Matt Peltier, in his popular weekday morning talk-show the “Hot Seat,’ on Q-95, probed further into the operations of the Portsmouth church and the attitude and activities of it leader.
Peltier dubbed a percentage of his July 18 show as “22 questions for Pastor BJ,” which he indicates are questions that he is raising on behalf of the church goers of Lifeline Ministries and the Dominican public.
“Pastor BJ! Your church members are asking you to come straight, come straight with them, come straight with the people of Dominica and maybe they will find it in their heart to forgive you,” Matt Peltier said as he ended the presentation.
Following is the list of 22 question asked by Peltier.
1: Have you accepted the instruction of the church executive, who inform you that you would be banned for one year?
2: Is your church split over the issue?
3: Who is in charge of Lifeline Ministries?
4: Are you thinking of forming your own church over the split?
5: Have you asked all those supporting you at this time to bring all offering in the store house, that there will be a meet in God’s house?
6: Is there an investigation into the financial management of Lifeline?
7: Has lifeline been denied a business meeting, audit, or financial report in the last 10 year?
8: It is being suggested that the church is now discovering abuse, mismanagement and corruption with the people money. Is that true Pastor BJ?
9: After the church paid you a salary of $3,000, did the church pay all your utilities, unlimited telephone bills and petrol bills? In addition, did the church pay your $3000 rent to live in your own house and other allowances totaling some 15,000?
10: Pastor! Were you also paid an extra $2,000 (Monthly) for a brand new Sportero? Was it registered on your name, pastor?
11: Was any of your secretaries making $1,000 a week and did any one of them delete information on the computer and was fired as a result?
12: Would it be fair to conclude that you ran the church as cult?
13: Would it be fair to conclude that you wrote checks with no accountability?
14: Were you arrested by customs in 2005 for the false declaration of church building material?
15: Did the Prime Minister help you with your release?
16: Did you tell your church later, that on the morning of the arrest, you were having a prayer breakfast?
17: Did you cheat your insurance in 2009, and lied by claiming that your hospitalized wife was the driver and falsely received $95, 000 from the insurance company?
18: Can you speak to the expenditure of $299,000 in the financial year 2008-2009, when the church claims that it only made 301,000? What was the expense of $299,000 about? What were the moneys spent for when there was no major project that year?
19: Is there any record of the churches $200,000 for the land purchase? Pastor! Where is that money?
Some church members have said , that you said, that the church lost it all when the British American crash, but after some investigation they claim that they now know it’s in a fix account securing your mortgage.
20: What about the money for the bus, the generator e.c.t?
21: Kimani Felicite broke her silence after 7 years , do you fear that there are other women who will surface to expose pornography and other anti Christian behaviors?
22: In recent days have you been sending text messages to the wives or spouses of a few members of your church, who have fallen out with you because of the recent sex scandal, with you revealing confessions of them that were made to you as their spiritual leaders?
It is reported that Pastor BJ held his first post-allegation service recently in Portsmouth.
If Pastor Joseph has started preaching is now. He nor his wife attended church when the church started in July. So that rummor but he is preaching from the time they moved to Cabrits is just what it is a big RUMMOR. PAWI neds to stop listen to those rummors.
God’s forgiveness is available to all but reality cannot be changed.Pastor Joseph has lived a double life and was able to fake it until his adopted daughter exposed him.God extended mercy to pastor Joseph for all those years but he refuse to adhere to the voice of the Lord, therefore the good Lord had to deal with him.Are you truly repentive Pastor? If the answer is yes why are so angry against those members who choose to stay in the church.Those luke #10:27 applies to you too.Over the years under your leadership many other young church ladies was cut into your web, but you deny all.Did you confess to your family or are you still hidden stuff from your dare wife? I am not in no position to judge anyone……so I am not going to, what happened is between BJ and the ALL MIGHTY FATHER JEHOVAH. Everyone will give an account for what he/she did, but please poeple do not close your minds. If it was someone else who was not a pastor ot leader of a church that thing would go on for months, so why should’nt it be the same for BJ. if it was done by an unsaved it would not be any different or worst than what BJ did. I have been a member of the Rapture Time House of Worship for a very long time, and even if I do not reside in D/ca, I do consider it my home church; at least this is where I think I’d visit whenever I return home.
Having said this one would very well understand how much hurt it brings to sit back and listen to what’s going on. This is not the way I was taught.
Thanks to all the Pastors of my time, who were so in tune with God and led us on the right path. I can only see the issues on discussion as a mere reflection of a lack of a prayer life and closeness with God. This was the flesh at work and no blame should be put on anyone right now.
Actually, I think Pastor BJ should ask himself a question; not trying to be wrong and attacking other people to help divert from the issue here. Use this time as a time of prayer and fasting; Get down with God, cry out before him, sing to him, kneel and bow down before him.
I know you may never see this, but as far as I can tell you do have persons who bring lots of news to you as usual. This whole Pastor BJ saga makes me wonder about the message that these Christians from Lifeline Christian Fellowship are now trying to give to the rest of Dominica.
Are we to now accept that discipline should be thrown out the door, or the one who sins is the one to determine his own discipline? Are we to now accept that once someone says to us – whether true or not- that they have asked God’s forgiveness, then no disciplinary or corrective measure should be instituted to help that person? No one is against forgiving pastor BJ, I think we all have, but since when did forgiveness mean no discipline. What is pastor BJ now going to do with members of his new church, who have been congregating at Cabrits over the past few weeks, when they go out and commit fornication, adultery and have children out of wedlock etc? will he take disciplinary action against them or once they say that God have forgiven them allow them to continue on as if nothing happened?
And if he’s truly repentant why all the arrogance and vindictive behaviour? Why try to destroy marriages which the bible says is honourable in ALL things? Doesn’t he need time to work on his emotions, desires, hurts for being ratted out and relationship with God? Today is a sad day in the life of Christianity in Portsmouth and those of us who claim to love Pastor BJ should encourage and allow him to go through the process of healing so that he can come to realize his full potential in God. If you don’t you are only contributing to his destruction.
A word to the followers of Pastor BJ – you have accepted that God has forgiving your leader of things that he has done wrong. Considering that the young lady is the one who walked out of the afffair, it would seem that she too has asked the Lord’s forgiveness. Have you accepted that and forgiven her? If so, why do you still hate her? Aren’t the scripture that you quote for the pastor just as applicable to her? What about the members who did not follow the pastor but chose to remain in the church where they were born, are you carrying anger and resentment even hatred for them? The love of God is not partial.
You cannot quote the word of God to suit one situation and not another. YOu need to be careful, lest you subject yourself to the wrath of God.
My prayer is that everyone would take some time to find out what God is saying to him in this situation
I am not blaming Pastor Bj current followers only I am blaming even the members that are not following. These people all claim to be christians and they are fighting against each other on facebook on matt on the streets God is not happy with that and Pastor Bj followers is not the only ones going to hell if this things do not stop. Firstly, the greatest crime pastor B.J has done against Allah is to worship Him using mediators. When one uses an mediator in his worship thus he has ascribe onto Allah a partner. He thinks that Allah is not sufficient to help him because of our sinful nature. This is untrue, Allah simply commands that a repentant and sincere heart should approach Him directly. Thus this is the crucial crime that pastor B.J must give up in order to gain salvation. The crime of polytheism.
Secondly, we agree that this adulterous relationship is a crime against Allah and this violates another human being’s dignity and honor. This pastor should sincerely repent to Allah and apologize to the people he violated because of his breach of moral ethics. When a man is a leader of his flock he has a responsibility to his followers, the code of trust.
Thirdly, the internal monetary and other matters should be dealt privately. Why should the entire country be made to know about these internal matters? With this said, when people continue to do evil in secret one day Allah may punish you and uncover your evil for the world to see. So it will be on the day of judgement. This is a great lesson for all of us

Are those women not aware that this is temptation in itself? They may appear to be friendly and are their friends but Priests and Pastors, based on their status, must be given due respect. No hugging them and kissing them unless they are relatives and have not seen for a while but respectfully. Some of them are the very ones who left the Catholic Church and generalize and ill-speak the Priests.
We thank Allah that fornication and adultery is greatly reduced in places that apply Islamic law because it is forbidden for a man and woman who are strangers to have physical contact or be in seclusion with each other. Free mixing between men and women are forbidden. This protects the overall moral fabric and essence of our societies.
Thus, Allah has revealed a code of life that greatly reduces that problem, furthermore, perpetrators of fornication and adultery are tried within an Islamic court thus punished if found guilty. Thank you Allah for Islam for it is true guidance.

As an Acolyte I’ve accompanied My Priests and others where we go to worship and conduct Church services at the Prisons, hospital and Infirmary.

I see this bashing of BJ unwarranted at this time. This man fell like any other man before and during his time. NO MAN IS INFALLIBLE! What he did was wrong and is inexcusable but why do we have to drag him down to the gutter like this. I find this insensitive and rather unfortunate. The bible talks about a righteous man falling multiple times and rising to his feet again. “We ALL have sinned and continue to sin and fall short of God’s glory”. We ALL have sins that are hidden to the eyes of men, but God sees. We have a right to hold our leaders (religious and secular) accountable but we should not denigrate them when they fail, it is in man to er. We should seek to build them up and restore them in a spirit of love. If it was anyone of us we would be looking for sympathy! BJ was wrong but we have all been at one point or the other! We have blown this thing way out of proportion. The man sinned against his body, his wife and his God, if they have forgiven him we are way out of line to hold it against him. Let us stop “digging bones” on others when we have SO MANY things buried in our past and present. I make a strong appeal to us, let us allow the man time to deal with this “ugly situation” with some level of privacy. I have been advised that some of his trusted friends and people he stood in court with for several days have abandoned him in his time of trouble/need! That too is a shame! when people support us in our time of need, the least we can do is be supportive, you do not turn up your windows when u pass his way……UNGRATEFUL! BJ be strong, the Lord is by your side. You have faltered, there’s no one who hasn’t. I sometimes feel that you are too arrogant, this will be good for you as you’ll be expected to be more humble coming from this situation. I believe that there’s a lot of good in you and so continue to believe in yourself, accept the “defeat”, lick your wounds and pick yourself up by your own boot string and continue on your spiritual journey my brother.

The buck always stopped with the pastor, so if the board agreed to deceive the church they were protecting the pastor and not the attorney. He had the contract, I’m sure, and I’m sure he read it and knew what it said. All the information the church received came from him. This is one of your plans to blackmail and dirty people’s name because they did not follow the pastor. Church finances were never easily accessible, becauswe any member who would talk would be shut up by preaching and told that when you give money to the Lord you not supposed to ask how it is used. Decisions have been made and then the church informed as far as spending of money goes and nobody dare oppose for fear of being castaway, yet they would ALL talk in secret and pretend to be supportive in public.

As a believer, I would encourage Pastor Joseph to go before the Lord in prayer. The word of God says if “if my people which are called by my name would humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land” There is a condition in this verse with 4 requirements so I pray that Pastor takes heed and do what is pleasing unto the Lord. Once this process is in action and pleases the Lord God promises to the 3 things for Pastor.
I am disappointed that our leaders are not willing to sit under the word for a period of time to reflect on their mistakes. That is being arrogant and God hates it when we are full of pride. We all know that the word of God says “If we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth of God is not in us”. A leader is not free from sin and so when he does and it is brought in the face of sinners and believers he or she has to be humble and sit for some time to allow the Lord’s word, his blood, and his Holy Spirit to minister to him during that time.
The word of God is serious and we must not take it lightly else the Lord will cut us off. His word says “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth their remaineth no more sacrifice for sins”
Pastor I am afraid that you are misleading sinners when you respond in a manner that is not pleasing to the Lord. It brings a reproach unto the name of the Lord. Take heed.
Men and women of God who have accepted Jesus Christ by faith in your hearts this is a time to PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! Let us not add salt to the injury by partaking in the discussion in such lengths that we find ourselves sinning by gossip and other sinful acts during this time.

Look at Jesus Christ who being in the form of God found it not robbery to be equal with God. There should be no denial that such public sin brings shame on the church and crucifies christ afresh. Psalms 51 gives a wonderful account of a man of God who sinned and how he responded in repentance,this I think is an example for all. Leadership calls for additional responsibilities and this is a burden that leaders must recognize that they must carry if they truly want to lead and as such they must walk circumspectly not as fools but as wise and ensure that they live a life that is above reproach.The brother’s attitude to his sin is creating more problem than the sin itself and humility is absent. My concern in all of this is as a leader he must be held accountable, its really amazing that the very members who congregate giving their moneys/offerings these very persons need assistance. Those monies should be used to make contributions/donation whether it be patching a roof, building a house making food donation or assisting children in the community the monies have to be reinvested for the good and benefit of the church, The lack of transparency with our church leaders is really amazing. God never said leave your house empty, children hungry to give money to church leaders, charity begins at home . If all those allegations are true then he must answer not only to god but the members who have entrusted so much in him.

Bon Dieu!! Church business is not the world business. In the last days, there will be a falling away. God cleaning the churches. Read your Bible people, and prepare for the Lords return. Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess. BJ and all of us have to face the same God. So be prepared. I am a Christian, but I cannot never love a pastor more than myself. The Bible say to love your neighbours as yourself. People just take a thing and honoring and worshiping the Pastor these days more than God. This is wrong. Look at the mini churches with de Pastor driving a simple vehicle, always at church, hardly have money to travel, living a simple and humble life. They will lambaste the Priests. Women should reflect on their youth, teenage years and especially their young adult years. Boys and men molested them, raped them and took their virginity. Those boys and men are now adults. The young boys and men of today are doing likewise. Many have had children with girls and women out of wedlock and what is called illegitimate children.
Today, people are suing left and right. Those women should sue those boys and men since there is no statute of limitation. They should consider this when they lambaste the Catholic Priests. Only a few days ago I had a similar conversation with someone. They also confess their sins over the air waves and on TV which thousands of people all over the world hear and they say do not confess to a Priest, in private. At least, our sins are kept in confidence.
God gave the consecrated Priests the mandate to hear their sins and to forgive their sins. God from above blesses and extends His forgiveness, just as when Catholics are baptized. The Priests represents Our Lord Jesus Christ.
I recently heard on Catholic Radio that the Priests cannot divulge this matter and the names of those who confess to them to absolutely no one.
I have considered how many thousands of people worldwide are foolish and ignorant and are lacking in spiritual knowledge and enlightenment, the followers of those types of religion and cults.
They do not give it a thought that no soul will ever enter Heaven with religious division, lack of love and peace and disunity. Those who have predeceased us know this very well.

Our Lord also spoke to her about Holy Communion and the manner in which we should receive it. These messages and many others are contained in the book. I have read the book and plan to read it again. It is one which I recommend to everyone, Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
There is also a small book which is written by a former atheist, “The Catholic Church Has The Answers”. He went searching for answers and then joined the Catholic Church. No doubt God granted him the grace.

The answer to your question is no. Prior to BJ becoming pastor of the church the church operated under the umbrella of the caribbean pentecostal organization. In order to have absolute control BJ changesd the system. He structred the system such that he is answerable to no one thus the reason why the name of the church changed from the Portsmouth Pentecostal church to Life Line. I hope that answers your question.

WHy can’t these people leave power alone and focus on God?

I find it disheartening that a number of commenters below believe we should not judge the actions of others. What does not judging really mean? Do you simply let any injustice fly by? Although they are by no means comparable to the pastor in terms of atrocity, should the commenters who do not believe in judging therefore not judge men like Hitler, Mao, and Pol-Pot for their mass-murderous regimes? Should we simply sit back and say, too bad, but he’ll be judged when he dies, so it’s all good, and meanwhile, it’s too bad if other people get hurt in the process?
That is unjust and inhumane. Believe what you want to believe, but do not sit by and let injustice occur. People who abuse others, who steal money or trick gullible persons into giving money away, people who commit significant crimes–these persons cannot be left alone. There is no proof of any judging in any afterlife, so let us bring to justice those criminals who are clearly before us in this life, rather than getting into theological squabbles. Let us educate people on what religion and belief really are, on what cults are, on what it means to choose what you believe for yourself. Once someone has learnt more about these things, they will be less likely to fall prey to such scams and opportunities for abuse. Matt is doing his job without fear or favor. Society must not allow such deceit to exist within our institutions, religious, political and social. Note that the questions are not Matt’s questions but merely questions from members of the Life Line church. I am a former member and very disappointed my self and I can vouch that the questions are legitimate questions. What many people may not be aware of is the fact that any member who would ask the hard core questions or make inquiries into the finances of the church the pastor would do his very best to turn the rest of the members against that person. I’ve seen it happen right before my very eyes. I’ve seen 20-30 year members of the church suffer humiliation by the pastor and other founding members only because people ask questions or choose to not allow BJ to direct their lives and that of their children.

I agree with you. once a catholic priest around the world does something it falls on all. It upsets me when they put our DOMINICAN priests in this. I was travelling on July 11 and met Pastor BJ at the airport with his cell phone in his ears. The man has lost a considerable amount of weight.
