Junior Achievement Inc, a non- profit organization with the aim of fostering entrepreneurship among students in Dominica, has received funding from several organizations on island.

Among those making financial contributions to the organization are West Children Organization, The National Development Fund of Dominica (NDFD), Central Cooperative Credit Union (CCCU), The National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU), The Youth Development Division and Plac 21.

Executive Director of Junior Achievement Inc, Natasha Yeeloy- Labad told DNO at a recognition ceremony on Tuesday that the organization saw it fit to embark on a national partnership drive to encourage the economic education among young persons in Dominica.

According to her, “In doing so we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the partners who have already come on board and contributed to the program that we are involved in and the number of programs we support.”

Labad stated further that a large part of Junior Achevement Inc’s performance is project oriented, “And because of that we want to be able to do as much as we can while we can,” she said.

She continued, “ The number one way we want to make the program sustainable is actually getting partners on board who have as part of their agenda impacting youths and sort of accelerating the chances of success for young persons… more importantly helping them to live lives that are going to be wholesome.”
