Junior Optimist Octagon International hosts Walk for Diabetes

The Junior Optimist Octagon International (JOOI) Club is hosting a Walk for Diabetes on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

The aim of the walk is to raise awareness about diabetes and its complications.

The walk will begin at 5:00 am from the Dame Eugenia Charles Blvd to Point Michel.

President of the Dominica Diabetes Association (DOMDA), Marvlyn Birmingham said that she appreciates the initiative of the JOOI Club in support of the Dominica Diabetes Association (DOMDA) and encourages everyone to join in the fight to bring awareness to, and raise funds for, Diabetes.
Diabetes is a chronic (lifelong) disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood.
