In recognition of his hard work over the years, General Manager of Kings Garments, Petit-Louis Acceus has received an award from INDEPCO, a non-profit organization in Haiti, which was founded in 1992.
Acceus who received training at INDEPCO in 1994, was presented with the award recently during a visit to Haiti.
“I am really pleased about it, because I never expected to receive an award in that area,” he told Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview. “I am young and that will give me encouragement to do more in Dominica.”
He continued, “I feel great, I feel happy about it.”
Acceus also expressed his love for the Dominican public and promised that he will continue to make an effort to train more people in Dominica.
He also called on Dominicans to continue to support him and his organization.
The mission of the INDEPCO is to promote the development of the sewing industry, contributing to the expansion of the labour market and decentralization of industrial activities.
This is accomplished by networking members workshops, modernization of the sector, technical training.
The ultimate goal is to make the Haiti textile industry competitive in the international market.
The Haiti textile industry includes hand embroidery, crochet, beading and more.
Kings Garments, located on Steber Street in Pottersville, has operating in Dominica for several years and specializes in men and women clothing, chair-covering, outside jobs, repairs, and renting of jackets.
