LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Kudos to DOWASCO

I would like to compliment Dowasco for keeping to their promise on the upgrade water supply to Soufriere Scott’s Head and Gallion.

Since 2009 after the new sea defence wall was built between Soufriere and Scott’s Head the people of Scott’s head experienced  lots of problems with water supply. Infact about five hours of everyday at an average of four days a week the people of Scott’s Head are without water especially in the Savanne area. Unfortunately it took someone from the community who live overseas to work with Villagers and Dowasco to help solve the problem.

After years of complaining and discussions with Dowasco the project is well on the way and is presently halfway completed. This is a great
example of the poor representation the people are getting from those who were elected from the Local Government and the Central Government to serve their communities. There’s a great urgency for real leaders and real people who willing to move these communities forward and leave the politics behind.

Too many times we blame companies and their leadership and help put them down. However when these very same people do well we do not give them any credit.

That’s why Dowasco Gm should be given alot of credit in keeping his promises to the people of Savanne and all those who work with him
to help solve this problem.

well thanks to the GM of DOWASCO. He keep his promise. It was really a serious problem which was experienced in the community, this problem did not only affected the households of the commnunity but the small guest houses in the Castille Estate area. The water problem affected the income from the guest houses.

The community must thank Mr. Jeff Bellot from Scotts Head who now resides in the US to lobby with the GM of DOWASCO to make this project a reality. He was on vacation withhis family in December of 2011 and the water problem really ruin their vacation. And while on vacation he spend countless time lobbying with the GM of DOWASCO to solve the water problem.
Back to the US he was in constant contact with the GM and the GM assured him that he will have a project drawn up to solve the water problem. He must be commended highly. He is a true son of the soil who wants to see his community move forward.

That`s classy, on your part, we complain till the cows come home, but seldom give credit where it`s due. Do not worry I am throwing my hat in the ring for the next election and all your troubles will be over.

I want to say thatnks to DOWASCO for their great help in the water crisis in MOrne Prosper. Althought it is not the best, however, the upper section including the school and health center are getting water. In light of this I would like DOWASCO to run a test on the water. It has a taste of smoke and rust. Please before it is too late.
