Express Des Iles…..
The customers should be allowed to attend these conferences to ralk about their experiences.
I think that the customers should be invited to these conferences also to give their views about the kind of services that they are being offered. Most of the French people are inhospitable. They treat Dominicans in an inhuman manner. When you get on board the boat, the French put thier bags on the seats and tell you that the seats are taken. When we complain to the stafff they give no help. As if the ill-treatment on the boat is not baptism enough because when you arrive in the French Islands particularly Guadeloupe where i encountered shear unkindeness, the majority of the people were also unpleasant. I only went to guadeloupe for two nights to shop, and my experience was a nasty one that i do not wish to encounter again. I travel to other parts of the Caribbean and i have never witness or experience this. Please Whitchurch do something to make life on the ferry and in Guadeloupe better for Dominican tourists to Guadeloupe and for those living there. I get the impression that the French love our money but they dispise us with a passion.
Of Germany and Switzerland for the most part, passengers travel via the USA to Dominica. The journey takes time if the flights are almost continuously for two days.
Prices vary depending on the airline between 1,100 € and 1,500 € uro. the flight to New York JFK is no problem – from New York via Purto Rico is a problem. America Airlines is very expensive for poor service!
It much cheaper to fly from Germany / Switzerland to Paris from there migrate to Pointe a Pitre Guadelloupe is to stay there in the morning and travel by ferry to Rouseau. Air France and Corsair are both good in price-performance ratio. The crossing by ferry is always a highlight, and already worth the trip alone.
all in all it take to travel from Freiburg / Germany Guadeloupe after about 13 hours. for an average of 650 € uro hotel and ferry costs about 180 € again
As a tip: The Hotel St. John Perse is only slightly removed from the terminal of the ferry.
It is a simple city hotel – staying well – by the way in the old town of Pointe a Pitre, which is also very nice.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANKS EXPRESS AND HHV WHITCHURCH FOR THEIR GREAT WORK. MY DAUGHTER IS IN MARTINIQUE IN SCHOOL I MUST SAY THANKS CUZ IF I HAD TO DO OTHERWISE I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO . THINGS HARD AND THATS THE ONLY WAY I TRAVEL TO MARTINIQUE THANKS ONCE AGIAN.
that’s very good i did not know they operate this long in D/ca.thanks
Congratulations to L’Express Des Isles and to HHV Whitchurch for holding strong and maintaining this important link. Its much cheaper than LIAT.
Visitors from Europe have now discovered that they can come to Dominica via Paris and Guadeloupe and take the ferry.
Even some UK travellers now come via Paris, Guadeloupe and Ferry because they can then escape the ridiculous UK tax to fly direct from UK to the Caribbean. Direct from London and LIAT: approx 800 pounds. Via Paris and Ferry: approx 500 pounds.
So true, I did that route in 2007 and it was a cheap and enjoyable experience. Will do it again.
I long for the day when these functions will be held in a real conference room versus Fort Young Hotel.
The State House conference centre, part of the State House complex will soon be ready.
What is wrong with the Fort Young Hotel Conference. It is a real conference Room! What is the matter with us Dominicans?
