Magistrate dismisses case against police officer

Woman police officer, Marcia Renault Gustave. who was arrested and charged with several counts of forgery, today walked a free person.

The magistrate had given the prosecution a “final” adjournment for March 13.
Lawyer for Gustave, Wayne Norde, had asked the court to dismiss the matter for “want of prosecution. “
After hearing arguments on both sides the magistrate agreed with defense counsel  Norde and dismissed the matter for want of prosecution.

I self cannot understand what is going on ein
what does ”want of Prosecution mean ”
is it that the prosecutors could not , did not provide the relevant information for prosecution ? Is it that they did not have the evidence to humiliate the Police officer with an arrest ?

Whether the accused was guilty or not this is a terrible waste of court time and those who brought the case ought to be suitably punished for such unprofessional conduct. Secondly, it reflects, one again, very badly on our police force, which should have been revamped by now.

Case dismissed for want of prosecution. The prosecution out to be sacked now and then Carbon, Blackmoore and Skerrit, in that order. Reason: utter incompetence in office. Dominica is definitely going to the dogs. We might as well abolish that court and the prosecution service and save alot of money…

If a criminal can be caught committing a felony in court and still escapes justice, what does this say of your DPP?

The Government did not bring a case against her. The corrupt system makes its own walk free. Police in all types of illegal activity in Dominica, hand in hand with Government ministers and drug dealers!

Who is going to repay the female officer for tarnishing or just perhaps destroying her reputation? No one deserves his/her life to be upended like that.

Why woman as a descriptor? I would think the name only woulster identify the individual as a woman. And , what other significance was there in using woman?
Secondly, what of the shame and embarrassment the young lady was made to feel ? Is this really how we operate?

Hmmmmmmmmm…very interesting. Why is there so much inefficiency and retributive practices in the police force? Why has Jemma Louis not allowed to return to work? Why was the home of Supt. Cuffy and Sgt. James searched using back-door tactics? Why was Cpl. Vigilante searched and charged for a crime he did not commit? Why is Carbon still serving as chief of police? So many questions not enough answers. SMMFH!

Assertive like the rod of Moses!
