First radio/TV simulcast in Dominica

PRESS RELEASE: Marpin will again break new ground when it teams up with Q95 to bring “Matt in the Morning” live on Channel 5, simultaneously with the popular radio programme.

The Company’s General Manager, Walter Maude, and the #2 man at Marpin, Calvin Patrick, Marpin’s new CFO, will appear on the programme on March 29th, 2010 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.

Marpin’s Public Relations Representative, Marie-Antoinette Mora, says both moves are unprecedented, “How many CEO’s, General Managers or Managing Directors do you know of that have sat in the “Hot Seat” and put themselves in the firing line of the Dominican public. The answer is a resounding ‘None that I can recall.’ Additionally, we have brought about another first with the convergence of the technology which we’ve coined RadioTV. The simulcast is a first for Dominica and that speaks to the fact that the new Marpin brings a fresh perspective and will continue to blaze a trail that will take Dominica to where it has to get in the area of telecommunications.”

Host of popular “Hot Seat” programme, Matthias Peltier, says “It’s taking ‘Matt in the Morning’ to another level and I see a lot of potential for the future as we move forward. It’s historic.”

Maude and Patrick will chat with Matt and field questions from customers and potential customers during the programme.

Marpin recently launched its new broadband Internet service, PiNG!net, which is part of a suite of services being rolled out by Marpin. Exciting services in the pipeline include PiNG!tv and PiNG!talk. Walter Maude was appointed just over a year ago to lead the new Marpin and Calvin Patrick recently joined the Company on March 15, 2010.

Marpin needs to fix their current service. More than ever before we losing channels — poor reception; no reception. We getting that now with increasing frequency. Yet no explanation from the company or from their sexy Media Representative. Things have really gotten worse with this 2K4 business.

Leona has a point. Q95 is not a beacon of professionalism or honest journalism. Just like the Sun newspaper Q95 is capable of being objective. Just like Fox they are incapable of being fair and balanced regardless of how often they claim to be. here is simply NOTHING that the Government has done right over the years for which they deserve a word of praise — according to the Sun. Truly amazing

I really would like to hear what DSS has to say about this matter.

a company makes a move toward lunching a new service we turn it into politics , dominicann come on rise out of this crap de company had its options they were able to settle with one for whatever reasons stop bashing out at them ,it was never said that the other stations might not soon be a part of this new line of service Q is the one being started with lets goooooo but stop bashing each other man, again to this anonymous person who makes this statement in response to another Contributor to this comments area ” Don’t you know that is the people’s station—-POINT OF ERROR—-, Dominica has only one national Broadcasting Station that the taxes of tax payers help to run and that is (DBS) no other AND SO DBS IS De Peoples Station …on the question of professionalism each media professional excercises their professionality via rules of the book ok we all do including Mr Peltier ,Mr Linton And the entire staff at Q the nation station does the Same —and dont you know that since the station is state owned parliament in most respects would have to assess a number of things before the nation station can actually move into radio/tv direction …..

now with no Doubt Mr peltier has one of the best talk shows on the island however to blatantly dis regard all our other talkshow host thats totally inapropriate , have you even being able to take a minute or two to listen to kairi fm where in Dominica after many years we have one of the youngest Journalist who brings across a programme that is totally away from the full time politics talk a program that looks handsomely at Dominicas further devlopment in many other areas or are not objective enough i love to listen to talking point , i love opinion time i am deeply in love with the hot seat and my heart beats like a columbian drum for the heng , face it we need to recognise the work that is hapening and Marpin thank you for the innitiative , and we know this will not be like rush limburgh

Why Q Leona? Don’t you know that is the people’s station and Matt in the Morning is the best talk show with one of the best host? You can’t possible think of DBS or Kairi? We need professionalism and Q fits that well. Now you know.

Leona darling, that is democracy. There are some of us who wants to listen to both sides of the story. Not all Dominicans have their heads up individual parties behind. We listen to both sides of the debate.

Stop acting like the people on fox and friends. It does not matter who get their turn first.

While this is something that Marpin should be proud of, there really is no need to employ hyperbole. I clearly recall the late Joel Huggins, immediate past CEO of Domlec, answering customers questions on Matt in the morning. I would also venture that Dominican customers feel a lot more aggrieved by Domlec than by Marpin, meaning that this must have been a more challenging undertaking for the late Huggins. That said, I congratulate Marpin on continuing to be a pioneer on our lovely island.

Well done, Marpin. But why Q95? G Is DSS still 50% owner of Marpin? Is DSS forgetting that Q95 has been a mere anti-government propaganda machine, with no balance in its persistent harangue of the Government? Eh las. You could have started with DBS. Why you eh start with them? Q95 cannot even be heard throughout the countryside… Who on Marpin Board? Are they the ones who did this foolishness?

Probably because DBS on the radio is boring enough.

No need to torture us by putting it on tv too.

      (Q95) Matt is informative.
      (Kairi FM) Krazy is entertaining.

Either individuals show would be cool.
