Micheal will not resign from Antiguan parliament

Asot Michael, Parliamentary representative in Antigua maintains innocence after being removed from ministerial post twice in the face of bribery allegations

Asot Michael, parliamentary representative for the St. Peter constituency in Antigua, has said he will not resign from parliament even in the face of an alleged bribery scandal involving himself and property tycoon Peter Virdee.

He has already resigned as Minister of Investment and Trade earlier this week due to the same scandal.

While this is not the first time he has been involved in controversy nor is it the first time he has had to step down as a government minister, he maintains that he will continue to serve his constituents and the nation in parliament. Stating to Observer Media in Antigua that “the people of St. Peter will determine my fate,” and no one else.

How can these corrupt people continue to function on our (the people) behalf? At what point do we hold them accountable or have we become so corrupt ourselves that we have no more scruples/moral left. We claim to be Christian (righteous and holy people) – yet we don’t demand a high standard from our leaders. When they are caught or exposed – they are bold enough – refusing to resign.

God will hold all of us accountable for accepting and supporting evil

this is the typical representation of the Caribbean political and financial elite..a portrait of a self-serving, egoistical and morally rotten persons in the position of power and influence in all Caribbean societies.. without any accountability or self-regulations. However it doesn’t make sense to blame them personally..if you want to blame someone for enabling such elite to exist and rule you, then look no further – look in a a mirror. It was you who elected such people, it was you who sold future of your children … so you are deserving to be governed by them!

What do you mean Lennox Linton former boss?

Are you crazy, or simply a  fool; did Lennox ever work for Asot Micheal, or his family? As far as I know Lennox worked for Observer Radio in Antigua, and I know the people who owned Observer Radio, at the time Lennox worked there. I know all the Derricks who owned (owns) the station.

I worked for Vincent Derrick, he practically mold my work ethics as a nineteen year old boy; I give him credit for my success in life. He said something to me one day which boosted my ambitions; so unless Asot owned Observer Radio, I don’t see how he could be Lennox boss at anytime.

You see, that is why I careless about most people who are suffering in Dominica you know. Animals, and liars like you deserve the pain: Why are you such a liar, the head of the country is a notorious liar accompanied by people like you; no wonder Satan has destroyed Dominica with Maria!
