OCTOBER 24th-Daily Updates from Dominica

Ambassador to the US & OAS  Dr. Vince Henderson and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Urban Renewal, Careen Prevost as well Head of Emergency Coordination-UN World Food Programme Mr Marc Regnault Delamothe  spoke to the press today. The focus was on the distribution of relief supplies.

Ambassador Henderson attempted to clear up  some of the alleged issues which the authorities at the Port have been faced. Urging the public to understand that, while bearing in mind the frustration of Dominicans at home and abroad,  the operations and the personnel have been “stretched.”  He also added that the Ports are operating beyond capacity at a rate which cannot be measured.

PS Prevost, while providing updates on the coordination of various supply operations, emphasized that there is no back-log of food supplies. She noted that the turnover for food supplies received on island is 2-3 days.

Mr. Delamothe provided a comprehensive overview of the food rations received by each household from the UN WFP.

God is not a Dcan police chief. For years LL and many others have been alerting us on the ineffective management of our country . Now that we have been daycarlayed by Maria and are in dire need for accountability and proper management the chicken’ rear is exposed. What is going on at DASPA and ALL other government agencies is total nonsense and no amount of excuses will suffice. While the news and other media are strictly controlled because Q95 is off air (sort of!) these nincompoops are killing Ma Dominique with incompetence. Even the police force is lost and operating on remote control. Where is Hobbs Jon. Baptiste when we need him? He needs to be recalled to put things in order.

The PM and his showmanship vikeee vie style has to go. He is expired material that Must be discarded for a better tomorrow. We need a clean slate in the rebuilding process.

    Assertive and pissed!??

Listen to much loose talking open the dam port so that we can feed our people, From my perspective keep your aid or should I say army rations I do not need it open the dam port so we can bring much needed supplies and support to our families. Everyday you saying port open to receive barrels and personal effects which is a blatant lie. Weeks now thousands of people overseas have barrels and provisions stacked up in their homes waiting to do what this government has failed to do for weeks now which is simply feed the people. It is a absolute disgrace that there are still families in Dominica yet to receive some kind of aid, it is mind boggling that in this day and age a man would grudge another man a bottle of water, I mean come on even in prison people are not deprived of this simple commodity. Up to yesterday I phoned Geese shipping line only to be told again that Skerrit has not given them the authority to ship personal effects. I ask who is lying geese or skerrit. Open the port man

    October 25, 2017

You all need to move some government employees from other departments to assist with the port. 5 weeks after a hurricane a people still can’t get their generators and other goods from the port. The port needs to be open for longer hours and a minimum of 6 days a week. Totally unacceptable with what that’s going on at the port.

I wholeheartedly agree with ‘Frustrating ‘ with everything that was written. Use discernment to expedite the process. Unconventional situations call for unorthodox policies. ‘Frustrating’ has the perfect solutions. The distribution of food stuff should be done expeditiously without favor.

This is an emergency. Why not have port operating 24/7 There are plenty of able bodies who would welcome the work. I’m sure the unions will not object under the circumstances.

These daily updates are very useful

Dr. shilling I have nothing but respect for you sir but this time you are wrong. The intent of the daily brifieings were good but all that has gone to the dogs sir. This so called briefing opportunities have become a mere tool to spread “fake news”, lies, mistruths and feed the diaspora with pitiful excuses to gain sympathy not for the people but government.

Walk around the country sir and meet the people. Then you will have the same or worse level of disdain I harbor for the filth that is being spread as “daily updates”. Suffice sir, the private sector is really trying (domlec, Digi, flow eat al) but government institutions now being overtaken by cabal opportunists and defenders are ruining wild among the chaos. It is so bad that these daily briefings are being referred to as “ Fake Briefings” by some of the very people organizing it….sad but true.

      Assertive and pissed!??

This corrupt Labour Party appears to be heading nowhere soon as there appears to be concerns within their unstable, dislocated ranks. Everyone is trying to something new to give Skerrit s n lead by Hon Lennox Linton, who has exposed this corrupt Labour government engaged in their Bin Bobol activity. Did those involved really repaid the states money. You see why they don’t like Hon. Linton.
Honestly, the DLP handed Skerrit this opening when they abandoned their key principles clapped like walking crabs as Skerrit was nominated and elected as Leader of the DLP. Look where they are now. In corruption mess.
Those coward labourites loaded with fear to oppose Skerrit reluctantly and quietly moved their scary motions into approval, now they are quietly within, “What a mess we got ourselves into” Dominica is suffering. Concern is slowly becoming a cry for many Now there are some causalities within the party quietly to remake the Labour to what it stood for………..continued below:-

Part 2…….a party of the poor, ordinary working class people, now loyalists are saying that the Labour Party as they knew it is gone. It has become a thing of the past, due to its hijacking by nefarious politicians seen as lazy and opportunists getting rich by the day. The silence of the majority has destroyed like Marcia the moral fabric of the Labour party. E.O. Leblanc, E.C. Loblack, Alfrey must be turning in their graves. Why the elected reps not willing or brave enough to speak out against the corrupt practiced daily by Skerrit and left to those have no stake or financial interests other than their usual hand out thru couriers & the infamous Red clinic? In the obvious absence of a reputable leader to replace inept Skerrit people will gravitate around whoever presents themselves representing Skerrit that is willing to rise up to the call.
Thus the DLP`s failure to stand up to Skerrit and elements of DLP base has only helped fuel the rise of a failed Skerrit.
      Skerrit Must Go

These are the consequences of having power concentrated in the hands of a few, after 17yrs, the CABAL is very well entrenched, the european and American system of democracy, is like dirty stagnated water, we all knows what happens. The truth have come to light, that the sworn members of parliament and Gov’t ministers, are nothing but figure heads, the gov’t of Dominica, is a one man administration, that will and continue to show the island in bad light.

Jay Dee, tell him again. I have been telling Dominicans that Skerrit is not fit to be Prime Minister of Dominica, let alone Vielle case, a small and surviving island in need of a disciplined and mature character to guide and lead its people and government. Skerrit is a big failure. ,He knows nothing of good government, let alone leadership. It is just a papa show marriage with his corrupt Labour government and followers. A fanfare etc.
Now he is gone to Europe, Brussels first and will end up in London on Friday at a big hotel to hold some meeting to talk nonsense and appease the crowd there who know not much of the pain and suffering in Dominica that we all endure. That Corrupt Labour Government has corrupted Domi9nicna and brought it into more poverty.

    Skerrit Must Go……Skerrit Must Go
