PDV Caribe Dominica Ltd launches LPG

Consistent with its commitment to expanding its line of products to meet the demands of the Dominican consumer, PDV Caribe Dominica Ltd will officially launch Petrocaribe LPG on Wednesday June 09, 2010.

PDV Caribe has a history as a supplier of gasoline and diesel to Dominica. The launch of Petrocaribe LPG will not only add to the list of petroleum products distributed by the company but will further stamp PDV Caribe Dominica’s relevance as an energy partner for Dominica.

PDV Caribe also views its entrance as a supplier into the LPG market as valuable because LPG is the major source of fuel for cooking in Dominica. Supplying a cheap and reliable source of cooking gas to Dominica was a major objective when the Governments of Dominica and Venezuela signed the Petrocaribe agreement in 2005. PDV Caribe regards the launch of Petrocaribe LPG in Dominica as further realization of that agreement.

The official ceremony to launch Petrocaribe LPG will take place at the Waitukubuli Fuel Storage and Distribution Plant in Jimmit on Wednesday June 09, 2010 from 10:00am. Officials of the Government of Dominica, including Prime Minster Hon Roosevelt Skerrit, Minister responsible for Petrocaribe Hon Reginald Austrie, representatives of the Embassy of Venezuela in Dominica, management of PDV Caribe Dominica, and other invited guests will be present at the ceremony.

I believe that the only Dominicans who will applaud what the Gpvernment is doing are those who have lived in other islands, trust me, we pay less than most of them and we have soo many opportunities, our cost of living is very low and yet we still complain.

you think people enjoying Antigua and the other islands, you should be gratefull for what you have.

GOD BLESS THE GOVERNMENT OF DOMINICA AND THE PEOPLE

Many Dominicans thought that one week before the Elections in December 2009, when Petrocaribe gave a cylinder each of LPG to some elderly persons, that Petrocaribe had already started to produce propane gas for cooking. The ceremony held to give those LPG was aired many times on the media to show persons of the kindness of Petrocaribe. That activity was also geared to show SKERRITT giving again just before election. Were those LPG given from their supplies from Jimmit? Was Petrocaribe already producing cooking gas for sale? It is surprising that six months after that first giving out of LPG, that we are learning that now the company would be officially launching its sale of LPG in a ceremony on Wednesday.

IN THAT MONTH OF JUNE, my people, expect many ceremonies. Among them, Petrocaribe starting LPG sales to the public ; ALBA Culture Ministers meeting in Dominica and maybe others yet unknown. There will also be NOMINATION DAY in JUNE as announced by PM Skerritt, depending on whether President Liverpool agrees to the advice to issue a writ for bye-election. There is that famous court session also IN JUNE to make judgment on dual citizenship and election irregularities. But be it as life is, many Dominicans express suspicion of those moves to influence the Dominican public in their decision making and to effect their thought processes. Butter around the cats’ mouth? How much cheaper is your DOMLEC BILL?. Petrocaribe would make your electricity bills plenty lower we were told. Austrie and other DLP GOVT. persons boasted about that. Can’t fool all the people all the time.

So what am I doing now with my redundant Shell bottle? You think Whitchurch will give me a refund on that when I move to my custom to uncle Hugo? So, slowly but surely we are moving to a monopoly supplier of fuel !
