This is an awesome picture ! Great job !
This is totally unrelated to the photograph – which by the way was breathtaking. But I would be grateful if you could clarify something.
Granday, to may knowledge, is made of of many villages which in turn forms one Parish. Yet when many people hear ‘Grandbay’ they only think of Lalay. Why is this?
i have been away for many years, but i can tell you this photo was taken from the stow estate boat landing site.theres no trees on the edge of the see at dubique .look at right edge of photo theres a tree showing.
damnn i miss home!!!
meant Dominica is indeed lovely!
A wonderful idea DNO. Cudos to you. This is useful for the photographers, the readers and you all as well. Very nice
It is a beautiful picture and scenery with the coconut branches extending over the sea. Very beautiful! Great photo. Excellent shot photographer!
This is clear taken from Dubic/Stowe area looking towards Grand Bay – (Abaso /Two pounds area)
Beautifully captured. I took one from this same very spot some years ago, but it did not come out as well as this masterpiece.
You see how much trouble we’re in? The photo caption’s clearly states where the photo was taken from – “close to the Dubique Fond St. Jean Road.” If my knowledge of our geography is still good, it means it would be humanly impossible to see Portsmouth from where the picture was shot. How some people arrive at the conclusion that is somewhere in Portsmouth beats me. Is it lack of knowledge of our geography? Or is the issue more of an unwillingness to read for information? I know in Dominica, we do not read nearly enough. And if we do is text, instant messages, or some sort of social media stuff. Lets hope that folks are being funny. If they are serious with their observations, then we really in trouble as a society.
Still appreciate the majesty of our many hills and mountains. Thanks for sharing DNO.
Well stated!
yall see thing too damn far!!! just say nice pic and done …u have too much to say
You too ironic with your comment. See what we said – puny mind, refusing to see the big pic. How’s this for irony.

Fort Shirley before that blasted hotel.. Was better before..
Achmed.
Hello and good afternoon to you. The photo was taken looking towards Grand Bay so how can this be Fort Shirley. I visited Fort Shirley with my mom and aunt in 2011 and am sure its in Portsmouth.
Breath taking view of cabrits WOW!
How a photo taken of Grandbay can become a breathtaking view of Cabrits???
Correction taken from portsmouth
Have you never taken a picture and to note a picture of another area came out in the background and looks close? Whatever, it is not impossible.
Once, when I visited Dominica at carnival time, a picture was taken of me near some almond trees at Macoucherie (hope I spelt this correctly) at a picnic on the Shillingford’s estate. When the picture was processed, I noted a view of a picture of another area in the background; can’t recall now; the picture is in my album.
An identical situation occurred on another visit to D/ca when someone took a picture of me at the Bay Front, Dame Eugenia Charles Blvd. I believe that a view of a scenery of Pointe Michel came out in that picture. Therefore, it depends which angle the picture was taken. Those views make for an excellent background, showing off D/ca’s sceneries.
This is not Cabrits…Kindly read the description at the bottom it says “close to Dubique on the Dubique-Fond St. Jean Road. The picture was taken looking towards the Grandbay area”.
kindly read my people..! We need to do more of this and not quick to comment…!
Have a blessed day!
Cabrits??? The pic was taken looking towards Grand Bay. Not looking towards Portsmouth.
Dubique is in the south of the island, Cabrits in the north
oohhh how beautiful our country are… thank God for his many blessings upon our beautiful ISLAND, DOMINICA.
