This photograph of a swollen, raging, Roseau river, was taken taken following the torrential rain which occurred in the wee hours of Christmas Eve.

Isn’t this the same Roseau River some crazy people were talking of dredging it? There was a guy “Noph Tok” on Dominica Diaspora who said that it could not be done and that it was too much of a dangerous proposition and an unpredictable river. Where are the supporters of the plan to dredge the Roseau river? Wind, Fire and Water cannot be tamed. Let it flow baby…..
Mr.Crabz: Don’t mind me just passing through
This is the E.C. Loblack Bridge which runs from Goodwill Road in Pottersville to Independence street in Roseau. The photo was taken at St.Johnston Avenue in Pottersville.
1960’s
Hello and good morning to my people. Thanks for the information because I left home in 1970 and I don’t recognize the building so I wasn’t sure which bridge it is.
All over the globe had terrible weather. those of us in Canada got up to four inches of ICE on top of everything outside; the street, vehicles, roofs. the weight of the ice caused power outages; up to now some places have no power. Imagine 5 days in a house with -6degrees9celcius. lota of people sick from lighting bbq indoors to get heat, from carbon moxide poisoning. things are getting better.
not interested in Canada thank you !
This bridge has no place by the new market. It is only contributing to traffic congestion. The property owners who suffered loss by the new market as a result of flooding should sue the minister Mr Blackmore for poor planning.
in my opinion you should be sued for making that hatred comment on mr blackmore
IF WE HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY WHY DONT WE STOP
TALKING.
And the crab said to the river,”Do your thing but don’t touch me”.
spoken like a true Dominican- love it!
Food for thought for the riverside promenade.
well it seem like, a lot of people have not seen roseau river at it’s best, well folks i have seen roseau river cover that same bridge and the east one also, took a fireman, his bones has not been found,up till now, this one woman was also taken to,she was washing or bathing, when the river broke, this just brought back memories.
Observer…. we have 5 bridges crossing the Roseau river which one are we supposed to check
Recount!I believe the Roseau river begins at Trafalgar and flows all the way to the sea.Recently I heard Marpin news saying the “Elmshall River” no such animal !
In all fairness and to add to the confusion most maps of Dominica have that river labelled as the”Queen’s”river.the British I guess changed the name but the people kept saying Roseau much the same way the present cabinet changed the name of Diablotin no one is saying morne sante or whatever name they have given it.
Please don’t shipped the crab to Martinique for the French. they ate all the donkeys already. there is only one donkey left in pte Michel.
I would hope that inspection of the bridge foundation is carried out after these violent storms for scour.
That bridge was certainly not built by China!
they should check out upper castlecomfort. Two houses n vehicles destroyed by raging river.
Hello and good morning my people. I hope you all stay safe and no one lost their life. Now what I see is a raging river and all the fertile top soil going into the sea. I hope we still have top soil to plant our garden. My aunt told me they can’t go to town because of landslides and they can’t used the bridge out of our village.
It rained all over the world on christmas eve!
Wow! What fury! But check out the crab fighting for survival.
wow.
At least, the crab on its’ way with the roaring river … and not in a barrel trying to pull down another … as is among our people .. sometimes.
The world is crying,God is still in Control,we need to take note,He send people and things to remind us that HE is for real and is in CHARGE.The last example of the Godly spirit in the form of human,Mandela; just passed,expressed in his actions, that LOVE thy neighbor as thyself,and forget about that political financial aspirations,which is the forcast of most Governments and their supporters;
We the people need to take stock,Life is just a mare Privilege of TIME and should be use in the spirit of GODLYNESS;The POWER of nature lives forever.Just seeing the Strength of the RIVER.
None of that makes any sense.
It is clear to see you have no understanding in your calabash.poor you.
De Crab looking happy!!
Well…build bridge at that height and think this river will never touch it? Think again. Bridge should have crest.
DLP did not build this bridge.
Hmmm, so you are saying the DLP just allowed someone to come and build the bridge without their approval?
even a crab checking de vibes
