PNP wins Jamaican election

Defying a series of pre-election polls, Jamaica’s opposition People’s National Party has won the Jamaican election, according to preliminary tallies from the Electoral Commission of Jamaica.

The results means the return to the Premiership for Portia Simpson Miller.

An intense campaign that began with a rally in Mandeville on Dec. 4 pitted Miller, who was unseated as Prime Minister in 2007 by the Jamaica Labour Party and Bruce Golding, against Andrew Holness, a 39-year-old who had been Prime Minister since October following the resignation of Golding.

HISTORY WILL RECORD THAT DOMINICA’S GREATEST POLITICAN AND DEBATER EXTRAORDINAIRY THE INDOMITABLE MICHAEL S P A DOUGLAS OF BLESSED MEMORY was called upon a few decades ago gy MICHAEL MANLEY LEADER OF THE PEOPLE NATIONAL PARTY ( WHICH HAS JUST WON THE ELECTIONS IN JAMAICA A FEW DAYS AGO ) TO BE THE FEATURE SPEKER AT THATS PARTY ANNUAL CONFERENCE GRAND RALLY.

THERE HAS LONG BEEN VERY CLOSE FRATERNAL TIES BETWEEN THE MORE SOCIALIST LEANING PNP AND THE SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC DOMINICA LABOUR PARTY.

I THINK OUR LEADERS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS FACT AND IT SPEAKS VOLUMES OF THE QUALITY OF THE GREATNESS AND INFECTIVE INFLUENCE OF MIKE. S P A STANDS FOR SUPER POLITICAL ACTION.

LONG LIVE THE COMRADES OF THE PNP AND LONG LIVE THE COMRADES IN THE DLP AND OTHER PROGRESSIVE FORCES IN THE CARIBBEAN.

I HOPE THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THE DLP RECIPROCATES AND RETURN THE COMPLIMENT TO HAVE PM PORTIA SIMPSON MILLER TO COME AND ADDRESS THE DLP RALLY.

I THINK MAMO WOULD BE HAPPY FOR THIS, PORTIA IS THE FIRAT WOMAN PM OF JAMAICA.

i WAS AT THIS PNP RALLY IN JAMICA BECAUSE THERE WAS WORD AT UWI THAT A DOMINICA PLOITICAIN BY THE NAME OF COMRADE MICHAEL DOUGLS WAS CARDED TO DELIVER THE FEAUTURE ADDRESS AT THIS PNP RALLY UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MANLLEY.

LIKE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF JAMICANS I GRACED THE PLACE WITH MY PRESENCE AND DOUGLASS DELIVERED A THUNDEROUS ADDRESS WHICH WAS PUNCTUATED WITH MULTIPLE APPLAUD – BASED INTERRUPTIONS.

VERY DEEP AND FORWARD THINKING AND HISTORICALLY SOUND PRESENTATION. IT WAS FILLED WITH SUBSTANCE AND FLARE .

THIS WAS AMONST THE MOMENTS THAT I FELT REAL PROUD TO BE A DOMINICA. THE OTHERS INCLUDED WHEN WE BECAME INDEPENDENT AND ALSO WHEN DAME EUGENIA CHARLES BRUSHED REAGAN ASIDE AT AN INTERNATIONAL NEWS CONFERENCE AS PER THE US INVASION OF GRENADA ( NOT THAT I SUPPORTED THE COUP) AND ALSO WHEN IRIVING SHILLINGFORD MADE 120 AGAINST PAKISTAN IN TEST CRICKET.

FOR THOSE PERSONS WHO DONT KNOW THE CAPTIONIST : MIKE DOUGLAS IS CORRECT. THE PNP IN JAMICA AND THE DLP IN DOMINICA ARE FRATERNAL PARTIES AND HAVE CLOSER LEFT LEANING AND IDEOLOGICAL LINKS WITH THE DOMINICA LABOUR PARTY…I THINK THAT POINT HAS TO BE MADE FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW NOR UNDERSTAND.

      • THANKS

Happy New Year to Jamaica & the PNP. PNP is a more people oriented party similar to the Dominica Labour party.
