“I am not afraid of no man” – John

Hector John

United Workers Party member for the Salisbury Constituency Hector John has warned his supporters to be vigilant and stand for democracy ahead of the July 9 bi-elections.

“I am not afraid of no man…  Tonight it’s about you, not Skerrit. Tonight is about the representation that we want. Tonight is about the people of Dominica, and tonight brothers and sisters I am asking you to begin to stand for your country,” John urged his constituents at a public meeting on Wednesday night in Salisbury.

Being wary of rumours that the ruling Dominica Labour Party Administration has allegedly planned to pay the way of Dominicans living abroad to return to vote in the bi-elections, John encouraged his people to be alert.

“They say they might bring down people we have to be vigilant, but it’s not happening in our constituency. We are here to make it clear that Salisbury, Coulibistrie and Morne Rachette we are to stand for democracy… When you stand for nothing, you fall for anything,” he stated.

Government senator and DLP’s candidate Bentley Royer will try to win the seat from John again.

John, who has dubbed himself ‘Hector, The Protector’ said he did not get here by accident, and advised the electorate to go out to vote early.

“Hector, the Protector is now the protector of our democracy; Hector, the Protector is now the protector of our country against dictatorship; Hector, the Protector is now the protector of our agriculture sector; Hector, the Protector is now the protector of the young people; Hector, the Protector now the protector against Roosevelt Skerrit …,” the youthful UWP member stated.

UWP President and former Prime Minister Edison James, the party’s leader Ron Green and Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central constituency Norris Prevost also addressed the gathering.

UWP has planned another public meeting at Coulibistrie on Friday.

Please Please Every body the Heavenly Father is Love – Stop all this hate story. Love your Enemy he has commanded. Pray for your Leaders so the Nation will be at peace. People who wants to represent people should love to serve. They are servants. Let go of pride and be humble. Humility.. People of Salisbury let your conscience be your guide. Too much negativity is destroying our Nation. Let the will of the Father be done. Little minds discuss people .. Grown minds discuss events . May the Father send his Holy Sipirit to manifest in the lives of those who use this medium to criticise and sow hatred. Heavenly Father Bless our Nation – Commonwealth of Dominca and guide the electorate on polling day. Give those who are gong up to represent persons a new vision. Eradicate hatred out of their system and let them realise what the role of representing persons entails being responsible and not instigating war /hatred. Let them sow seeds of love instead. Let them put down their arrogant attitude and learn to do your will, be humble and seek you first in their decision making. Love always. Love conquers all. Hey Remember he sent his only begotton son to die on the cross for our sins. That was Love and what we should emulate in our every day living.

Do you actually expect me to dignify your comments with an answer?

    Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!

I do not respond to fictitious, nameless, and faceless people!

By the way DNO does not belong to you, and as long as they allow me to comment on their site, I shall return from time to time.

And when they kick me off their site, I might go on my own Website: http://www.yovnnedods.com and write whatever my heart desires, and perhaps respond to my own post, since I am the only one who uses my message board.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

That reminds me I have to write something on there about Gastroenterology before the end of the week, read it you might learn something.

I’ve been reading your comments long enough, who made you the expert on all matters? If you feel Dominicans are beneath your contempt, why oh why do you keep coming back to comment on this site ad nauseam???? You sound like you actually hate Dominica and Dominicans.

This is nothing new. What is the fuss? Everybody knows, ALL Dominican politicains are DUNCE! Which of them can really speak a word of correct English? Well, yes with the exception of a few, we all know they went to the University of Show me the Money to Represent. Nobody demands they get qualified in politics, public speaking skills, or general how to behave in the office. Their speeches are so old, and cliched, never mind they just throw tenses anywhere. They are really DUNCE! How many of them know world history, even read books on political happenings. I would give the Hector person a break, he just entered a school of dunces and is catching up real fast. He should rethink his position and go to another school. Well maybe he wants to graduate from University of Show me the Money to Represent! Who knows!

  9. I intended not to comment on any of the remarks that I read; due to the fact that all of Spags critics themselves did not major in linguistic.

One of his greatest critics kept referring to people as ” all you.”

I would like for this person to explain to the reading audience what part of speech, in the English language is ” all you.”

How do we define ” all you!”

And here I ask the question, speaking in the third person, which is perfect in the context in which I ask the question.

Now, I have read many communications from John for many years, dating back to 2000, and I know for a fact that the man is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English, and I am not defending him here politically.

For all I know where he said, what he said; not fearing ” no man ” might be something he may have done deliberately.

At least he got his critics attention.

Some of the people who are critiquing John, does not even know how to utilize a computer keyboard, they start sentences with lower case letters; that can be critique also, I do not see the point of all of this criticism.

One particular person writes an essay on all that the government has accomplished, in all block (capital) letters. That also is foolishness, and could be subjected to criticism, because anyone who is scholastically educated should know that ” the names of animal, people place and things, the first letter is written with a capital letter, and the following should be written in lower, or common case letters.

Thus, in my name: Francisco Telemaque:

    I.E.

.Cup, Dog, Dominica King of Wesley, Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque

I am not into the politics here, I simply participated in this to make a point, and that is we are all vulnerable to making mistakes when we speak or write, so perhaps it is a good time for us to reflect on ” self,” because the grammar of most of the people who are critiquing John stinks!

Now, there are some reading me right now who would like to shoot me dead; I do not have a death wish, and therefore, I am prepared to fight, and defend my life, so if you are flying, or walking from Dominica to Los Angeles to get me, you have a long way to travel, and so I will be ready by the time you get here.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!

Finally, I often read where people comment, ” they are bring down, or people are coming down to vote!

How can we Dominicans alone tell where is up or down when it pertains to the route of travel?

One can only travel up or down a hill, or mountain!

I have flown all over the world, I have traveled by ship, as a matter of fact we owned a ship, and in sailing I have never sailed over a hill or mountain in the ocean, I’ve never flown in a direction upwards, or downwards except when an aircraft is ascending, or descending ( going up on take off, and coming down for a ( landing).

I am not surprise at all, since we invented the term ” Jetport.” Every nation on earth refers to an International Airport, by its name; ” International Airport, nonetheless, to Dominicans it is a ” Jetport.”

As far as I am aware to travel to England from Dominica an Aircraft would take off and fly North East, and the first place in land view would be Paris, then the pilot of the aircraft would change its direction by about five degree, towards South Hampton, flying into the United Kingdom. Returning to Dominica, all one would have to do is reverse the direction, landing on a mountain in the hills of ( me village) Wesley, okay!

There is no up or down in traveling, we travel, East, West, North, or South, with slight deviation in longitude and latitude.

I would hope that my English is satisfactory enough for the comprehension of all the linguistics majors!

    Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque

I agree! People should not be coming down on the guy for his bad English, all Dominicans do it.

However, this is the second campaign that you guys are making about Skerrit. What up Neg, all you didn’t learn from the last election?

Man tell the people what you going to do for them in Parliament. Teach the people like they are children even.

I mean I am not a follower of Skerrit or any party, but while you trying to be ‘the protector against Roosevelt Skerrit …,” Skerrit have all you looking well stupid. All you say all you boycotting parliament because elections was fraudulent, now he have all you eating all you vomit and running in another election under the same fraudulent conditions. So my question is, who is going to ‘Protect’ the people against all you foolishness, Neg?

I mean some of us Dominicans just have too low an esteem. How could I vote for you when you doh even have the morals and the integrity to boycott Parliament but not by-elections? This says a lot about us as a people man.

And really ‘Hector the Protector’ Neg? Boy that sounds a lot like what fellas like Sadam, Stalin, Mugabe, Chavez, and Gadaffi would say….

I feel amazed that the writers should be so concerned about English. On platforms in the heat of the delivery all politicians forget proper English and emphasis on the right syllable. The Prime Minister often speaks of himself in the third person as if referring to someone else. It is all for empasis on the point. In the parliament and on the radio stations like Kairi we hear bad crazy English over and over and it seems no one has a problem with that over years now. So let us stop the hypocrisy and hear of the issues and stop petty fault finding that takes the debate nowhere.

    1. STATE OF THE ART STADIUM

    2. ROAD IMPROVEMENTS AND ENHANCEMENT PROJECTS ALL OVER

    3. IMPROVEMENT AT MELVEILLE HALL AIRPORT TO ACCOMODATE NIGHT LANDING

    4. REDUCTION IN INCOME TAX ACROSS THE BOARD WITH THE HIGHEST BAND RATE MOVING FROM 40% TO 35%.

    5. INCREASING THE TAX THRESH HOLD FROM $12,000 IN 1999 TO $20,000 IN 2009/2010

    6. THE ‘YES WE CARE’ PROGRAM IMPLEMENTED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL ABANDONED ELDERLIES ON ISLAND.

    7. INCREASE IN TERTIARY LEVEL SCHOLARSHIPS – A VISION TO HAVE EVERY HOUSEHOLD HAVING A UNIVERSITY GRADUATE IS RIGHT ON TARGET.

    8. UNIVERSAL SECONDARY EDUCATION

9 STATE OF THE ART PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN PORTSMOUTH, SANSAUVER AND CARIB TERRITORY

    10. PUBLIC ASSISTANT PROGRAM (DUBBED THE RED CLINIC BY UWP)

    11. SCHOOL TRANSFER FUNDS OF $500 FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN TRANSFERING FROM PRIMARY TO SECONDARY SCHOOL, THATS APART FROM GOV’T SCHOLARSHIP AND THE ASSISTANT TO THE MANY PARENTS WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN COLLEGE AND SECONDARY SCHOOL

    12. THE PRUDENT MANAGEMENT OF THE ECONOMY!!!

You can add your bit there’s alot more!!!! Which of these do you believe is bad for DOMINICA AND WHAT WOULD UWP DO IF THEY BECOME GOVERNMENT?

  30. From Salisbury

The UWP was voted in to represent the people of Salisbury for 2 terms with Mr. Williams as Parl Rep. nothing was done, there was no representation, any development or progress was by the hard work of the people. Now yet another election has come and gone, and the UWP again has been selected to represent the people under the leadership of Mr. John… Now 6 months into the term… STILL NO REPRESENTATION.

I am proud of my village and the SEC who make things happen there because so far even with democratic choice and action, Salisbury has been neglected by its Parliamentary representatives (all from the UWP). If I do vote… I am certain who I would NOT vote for.

Hector has been misguided by a group of men, who are themselves misguided and irresponsible. They have no respect for democracy and parade as ‘good’. That cannot be further from the truth. The only thing Hector is going to be in the end, is the ‘Protector’ of a huge ego and a very short-lived political career. Why is he contesting a by-election, when he is hell-bent that the last general election was fraudulent? The same rules and laws applies. The Electoral Commission and the Chief Eections Officer is clear on that. The UWP looking for excuses after having been rejected by the Dominican people is really shameful. Hector is just sucked into that poor-loser votex!

Joe I fully support your point. The boycott by John and James was motivated not as a result of any election irregularities but because the party lost so badly. If the boycott was as a result of irregularietes, can John and James tell the constituents what has changed with the electoral process since general elections? Has there been a change in the voters list or has the ID system they were ranting and raving about been implemented?Tonight it’s about you, not Skerrit. Tonight is about the representation that we want. Tonight is about the people of Dominica, and tonight brothers and sisters I am asking you to begin to stand for your country”. Hector should be ashamed of himself for saying that “Tonight is about representation we want”. The people of Salisbury stood for democracy all along by voting for him but what did he do for them, nothing. He is the one who has failed to provide representation for the people of Salisbury. He provided no representation for them in parliament but instead participated in a puppet peoples parliament. Salisbury constituents must think twice before voting Hector John again because he has shown that his presonal and party interests are more important that the people of Salisbury.

I think Mr. John statement should read, I am not afraid of any man or I am afraid of no man. This double negative statement actually says that you are indeed afraid, maybe it’s your subconscious speaking though, making us aware of your internal thoughts

“when you stand for nothing, you fall for anything”
Wrong doing CANNOT be selective, wrong is wrong. It’s time we stand up against immorality in our system and the systematic downfall of the principles we stand for. We must stand against mismanagement of our country. We must rally for a just cause. Take heed from the people of Salisbury and Marigot. They are the quintessential factors for the rest of the country to emulate. Hector the Protector is genuine in all his deliberations and I am proud to be from Salisbury.

Where has it been said that you should be afraid of any man ? The UWP is still on about the irregularity of the Electoral process, if the process is corrupt it is because the UWP made it so, Remember who started all this crap of Bugging offices and taking each order Party to court, Yes, it is Eddison James saying that the late Dame E. Charles bugged his office, and how he had to pay for the lies he told, and that was before he got into office, so if the process is irregular is because the UWP made it so.

Mr. John. If you think that there is irregularity in the electoral process, why didn’t you not boycott this bye election. To me, it means that you previous boycott was not because of a corrupt political process but it was because your party lost.
