Dominica Labour Party (DLP) candidate for the Roseau South Ambrose George says he is contented with his constituency’s share of development.

“I must say that I am satisfied that the Roseau South constituency has gotten its fair share of the pie and is as much as could be afforded to it at this time,” he said at a DLP rally in Bath Estated on Sunday. “I am satisfied that we have received our fair share.”

According to him, there are those who will not understand the successes in Roseau south.

“Some may misunderstand our successes in Roseau South and the workings of government as it relates to projects and programs within each and every constituency in terms of prioritization of the national interest of the country,” he said.

George pointed out some of the projects and programs that his constituency has received during his three-term tenure as their parliamentary representative. They include, the Giraudel water project, which he said came to the people after a 100 years, the rebuilding of certain section of the Eggleston road, the construction of certain sections of the back road in Giraudel, the Giraudel flower show house, the Eggleston Heritage House, beneficiaries of the small business sector, Playing fields in Kingshill, Loubiere and Injury Park, which are under renovation, assistance to the farmers of Eggleston and Giraudel, connecting steps and access roads in Kingshill, Giraudel and Loubiere, Fortune and Bath Estate.

He also pointed to the Loubiere sidewalks, the granting of scholarships, the School assistance programs, the Yes We Care program, the Housing revolution, the National Employment Program, among others.

    Mr George

since we were little children our parents have been saying don’t settle for mediocre aim for excellence . With that being said you are really selling yourself short because you are settling for nothing no development. Where on Eggleston road have there been rebuilding the destruction caused by Dec 24 rains is still evident on the roads almost a whole year after the incident the tarish placed in the holes was done by a certain individual not associated to you. I want to know if is the school that was built since Dame Eugenia Charles time that is being converted you claiming as a success. The flower show that caters to a few people in Giraudel you beating your chest and boasting for before the flower house bars and booths stretched from Eggleston to Giraudel dances at Lily and Sirdees disco were synonymous with flower show now one area that has activity during the flower show and that is a success. Thanks for the water project and now ,as election coming, paying buses for our children an initiative that was started since universal secondary education came about since Blackmore went to Italy and got buses but better late than never . I guess we should Knight you for doing what we voted you to do.
Mr George I don’t think you should be satisfied with the little you have done for the Minister responsible for community Empowerment what have you done to empower your constituency. You are not able to campain on your own merit like Blackmore in Mahaut you still have to use Leadership is everything to carry you through this election. You should take example from your colleague Mr Rayburn Blackmore a working Mp.
I am sadden to say that as a supporter of the Labour Party i will not be voting in this coming election in an effort to say to Mr Skerrit that change is indeed a must not a change of Government but a change to clean the garden called Dominica of useless weeds.

    Mr. George,

Elmshall has been neglected…I’ve never once seen you there. The pot holes are like craters. When Mr. Williams was President and Charles Savarin as President once lived Elmshall (before he moved into the mansion); the roads were paved with “gold”; not one pot hole. Now you are diving in potholes….

Now they are packing apartments in one little plot of land; and yet the bridge is in a deplorable state; one vehicle can pass at a time…you swear you falling in the river. Backward development…me say!

Fix the bridge and roads first…then build apartments…Disappointed with Mr. George!!!!

If Ambrose George is satisfied with developments in Roseau south it is time to change him because he is not up to the job.
You should ask if the people of Roseau soputh are sitis fied with developments instead. Don’t brag about yourself Ambrose. Only little children do that, not mature people.

There is no labour Party in Dominica. Only a Freedom Party. Labour Party died with Pierre Charles and Roosie and Leblanc. . So a vote for Ambrose is a vote for Freedom Party, a vote for Skerrit is a vote for freedom Party a vote for Charles Saverin is a vote for Freedom Party. Do not let them fol all you. this is not Labor Party of the Leblanc era. this is Skerrit young Freedom movement masquerading as Labour. Or cal it New Freedom bt not Labour Party that party does not exist any longer. Give democracy a chance in Dominica and vote some new blood with new ideas.

Ambrose George does not deserve any kind of political recognition whatsoever. If anything is to be published about Ambrose George, it would have to be about his character in public office, since he was fired from the cabinet by late PM Pierre Charles and present PM Roosevelt Skerrit. It’s damn shameful that this gentleman is on DLP platform campaigning with Skerrit as a candidate for 2014. How shameful Skerrit! I mean this is the same Skerrit I heard last week attacking the character of Dr. Thomson Fontaine of things according to him, may have happened to the Dr., in the USA. Skerrit, what happened to Ambrose took place in Dominica and you know about it. How shameful and embarrassing!

I will be voting in the RS constituency and will be voting Joshua Francis.

I am a Labourite not Labarite. I choose to vote my conscience this time and vote for change, because I am not satisfied with your representation.

Unemployment is rampant in Kingshill, Newtown, Bath Estate, Eggleston etc.
    Newtown Fisheries is non existence
Your presence and dedication to our well being is zero
Your followers and some Freedomites who are wolves in sheep clothing and support you for what they get.

As I see it, in Newtown, is the Freedomites turned Labarites, who are singing for their supper

If you ask me is mamo’s “pompous little kid” that is the parl rep for Kingshill eh.

But Ambrose the few achievements you spoke about did not happen in the last 5 years. In Kingshill in 15 years you got Felix to construct steps from ‘omon’ to the main road, you fixed the houses of a couple of labour rights in Kings hill, you fix the roof of the old bakery claiming that you giving people a resource center we not even talking about the playing field lets not go there, swimming pools all over the road.
Two people told me they voting you again for papa Skerit sake and you have the unmitigated gall to say that you are satisfied with the development?
    Really Ambrose?

I wish I could say Ambrsewen Koowir but he really didn’t make a dash for it. He just covertly slid out of Skerrit’s way like a soldier crab

this man speaks of being satisfied but satisfied with what, is it the high unemployment that plagues the Roseau south constituency having scores of juveniles along the roadside skilless and becoming burdens to the society; what about the deterioration of the built environment; the man even speaks of business development, i wonder if he see the state of the Newtown Fisheries and how it has become (a loiterers paradise), adjacent to his constituency office; plus the general social degradation which has resulted in the marginalisation of the society. how long are we the people of the Roseau south constituency going to allow this to continue? take a look at the school which is being constructed, through imported Chinese workers, so are the parents of the kids who attend this school not in need of employment? what about the people of the constituency? people should take a look at the real issues affecting our society and get their morals into focus….!

Jokers like Ambrose will cost Skerrit to lose a lot of seats! These people haven’t been doing anything for the last couple of years and expect people to vote them back in to do absolutely nothing! Only crazy people will vote those jokers back in. there are certain constituencies that I go to and when I see the amount of nice roads that they have… New this new that I can say well that parl rep is working but others you have to wonder if there is someone representing them! One thing these politicians need to remember we don’t need them. They’re the ones who need us (our votes) So some will come with money and other incentives to get our votes but we as Dominicans need to open our minds and think clearly. Don’t let anyone force you to do anything. It’s okay to say no! If you are unsure say so don’t follow the bandwagon or friends or even family. Think for yourselves Dominicans

Well said Paro..these reps must understand that people place them there to WORK. Labour ka twavay that’s what they have to do. Of course they become poketicians as the late E C Loblack would say and do nothing until elections are due. People fail to see these things and that’s why E O Leblanc said we have fowl brains in this country. Voters have power, when servants don’t perform or screw up we ought to protest and have them out of office

The rebuilding of certain sections of the Egglestone road he says. What do you mean by certain sections? Nothing has been done on that road apart from a few sections totalling approx. 100ft. What about the rest? It is in a deplorable state not to say dangerous. You are useless Ambrose!

Really sir, a fair share of the piece of the pie, well that pie was small. Roseau South have not seen of u, nor heard of u. You should be ashamed of yourself. Look at Blackmoore and how people in his constituent loves him. Take a walk around your constituent and see how much hatred everyone has for you. People that voting you those die hard Laborites will admit they are voting you in because of the PM but NOT ME. I will be voting for a PARL REP to represent me and that will be Joshua Francis.
