Andrew Holness ‘sworn-in’ as Jamaica’s new Prime Minister

Holness

Andrew Michael Holness, a Seventh Day Adventist by faith, was “sworn-in”  by affirmation on Sunday as the Jamaica’s ninth Prime Minister.

In a ceremony at King’s House on Sunday afternoon, the new prime minister did not swear on the bible as is the custom because of his faith. Rather, as is allowed under the constitution,  Holness ‘declared and affirmed” due allegiance to Jamaica and his intention to carry out his duties as Prime Minister of Jamaica.

He takes over from Bruce Golding who handed in his resignation to the Governor General earlier Sunday afternoon. Holness 39, is the youngest Prime Minister of Jamaica.

I noticed that the DNO excerpt focusses more on the young man’s faith than any other thing. Is Mr. Andrew a former believer?

        @ EH??

He could have changed his religion. This is not impossible in this day and age of the Great Apostasy and sadly so.

      @ just HAPPY

What are you happy about? Some people will be laughing their way to Hell.
There is a reason why the first day of the week commences on Sunday which makes good sense.
The first day of the week on the Calendar of the western world, comprises of predominantly Christian countries commences on Sunday.
After Our Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected He appeared to the disciples on Sunday. This is why the First established Christian Church, namely the Catholic Church, formed 2000 years ago worships on Sundays.
Keep in mind Pentecost Sunday when Our Lord appeared to the disciples and they spoke in tongues. He sent His Advocate, His Holy Spirit to them on that day.
You must read and study Holy Scriptures to know the truth as you practice the Christian faith. Otherwise you will always be in doubt and denial and will fail in this respect. Pray to God for moral and spiritual enlightenment which you appear to be badly in need of.
