Dominica Labour Party (DLP) candidate for the Soufriere Constituency, Denise Charles, has described herself as a nation builder.
Speaking at a DLP rally on Sunday she also took aim at the opposition saying they are tearing down and destroying Dominica.
“Brothers and sisters. you can expect that I will continue to build on the good works of the Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit-led administration,” she said. “I am a nation builder.”
But she had strong words for the opposition.
“These days when you turn on your radio, you may hear the opposition spending time planting seeds of destruction and tearing our country down,” she said. “Be careful my people, do not fall in the traps that they set. Do not let them divide this nation into pockets of hatred and spitefulness.”
She questioned whether “gossip and dishonesty” can actually build a nation.
“Do you believe that this constituency would be better off when they try to make enemies between you and your neighbours?” Charles stated. “No, my sisters, no my brothers, we cannot achieve progress if our main focus is to tear each other down.”
ANY COMPANY have a confidence in you and ask you to hold a position and you say you cannot do it you are down as a failure. If you kick a person whilst she is down you are not a godly person. I must make that comment. Although I understand that Denise Charles is well educated, when I heard her presenting on the TV from Scotts Head, she looked and sounded like someone who was not educated. I guess that is what politics does. And the education system too, its makes us educated fools.

to late – the Roosevelt Skerrit has that as their greatest accomplishment. After 16 years of political victimization Dominicans are now, such a divided people that not even the issue of Child abuse can unite them. It is so bad now that, the opposition candidate should not resign because he was arrested and charged for allegations against a minor (Lennox Linton is the devil and controlling and bossy) but the DLP candidate should resign for the same charges and allegation (skerrit is god, a nice diplomatic, generous, caring man).
