DFP’s condolence message on the passing of Barbados PM

It was with deep dismay and sadness that we learnt of the passing of Prime Minister David Thompson of Barbados.

We therefore send our sincere condolences to his wife and family as well as to the government and people of Barbados as they come to terms with the death of a well loved son of the soil who distinguished himself so early in politics.  The region itself has lost a leader who believed in  the integration process devoting a great deal of his time and energy to promoting the integration agenda through the CSME.

As his family and Barbadians mourn his passing, we are sure that in their hour of grief they will remember his contribution to national and regional development with pride. The Dominica Freedom Party hopes that his contribution will not go unheralded but serve as  a beacon for stronger and continued efforts to bring the region together  for the benefit of us all.

May he rest in peace.

Looks like Dominica may have to send lower level representation to the funeral. It’s set for November 3rd at 10:00am. Skeritt must be torn as he most definitely would want to personally attend, especially because of their close personal friendship.

I feel confident that should you disassociate your self and party from the UWP your chances of becoming a leader of dignity and grace is real. The UWP leadership has no finese and have not found it fitting to express sentiments of sympathy to the Barbados community on the pasing of PM David Thompson.

Mrs. Pestaina continue to take the lead and lead the opposition and we all will dismiss the UWP as the party who boycotts everything including a message of sympathy to the family and people of Barbados. What a shame UWP leadership.

    Well done Mrs. Pestaina.
