The question UWP should be asking, why after 13 years they are still squabbling over Skerrit and how to remove him? Workers just not ready and will go down in a heap again. They just talk to much….. and lack pyschological planning. Politics calls for strategic thinking and action.
Crying on DNO and Q95 will not win votes. The bottom line is you have to a people oriented… people will gravitate to those they feel warm and comfortable with. Face reality…. Both parties are guilty of corruption so the corruption theme will just not work.UWp track record of losing every court case is another blight in their cap..show people you are different.
Preaching violence and encouraging civil disobedience will not work.
Can you remember what happened in Pagua. Lest we forget…. Violence for Vote will not work. Be real.

CONGRATULATION IN ORDER FOR THE NEW/OLD EXECUTIVE OF THE DLP

Once again congratulations to the old/new executive of the DLP. As they say birds of a feather flock together. These are men who have lied in giving evidence under oath, and who have repeatedly violated our laws and disrespected our constitution.

They have publicly stated that they do not respect our laws and constitution. They have cowardly hid behind legal technicalities of self-incrimination and have lied in their testimonies. They have told Dominicans go to hell and plunged local economy deeper into the economic hell. These are men who have been monitored and captured the FBI for alleged money laundering activities.

Let’s face it, who in their right mind would want to be on the DLP’s executive so badly these days? Why would any right thinking, descent Dominican seek to be part of the leadership of this rapidly sinking ship, from which people are jumping off in droves?

Of course, like any mafia-like organization with an executive of law breakers who have only escaped penalty due to the wizardry, legal magic of Tony and his effective manipulation of our weak and bias justice system, no one in their right mind would challenge revengeful bosses. The stakes are now too high to do that, especially as the UWP has changed its leadership an a novice investigative journalist and talk show host has been made leader.

Clearly, the other members of the DLP, who are left with some degree of integrity, pride and honesty do not want to be in this mess, hence the difficulty that the DLP now have in attracting qualified, dynamic and progressive candidates to contest elections for its executive and for the next general elections.

    Respectfully
    Roseau Valley

I have been to many political delegate conferences and I never heard of, or attended a delegate conference like the micky mouse show, according to Skerrit, that was held by the DLP today .What if their were many delegates that were not in favour of at least one or two members of the executive. This is one for the history books by Dr. Honeychurch. That was democracy at its best.

    September 15, 2013

I Just have one question to the Prime Minister of Dominica . The last time during the election the people and the opposition wanted to have a public debate, with then Leader of the UWP, MR Edison James. for a fact Mr James was and is more educated , more experienced and more honest than you , for what ever the reason expect for one you gave you did not accept, you said that MR James and the opposition were trying to trick you. Now we have MR Linton which you and your people have said that he is uneducated has no university certificates , no experience , cannot hold down a job etc. So if asked by the people to hold a debate now will you agree? knowing in your mind and by your people that you are more educated and has more leadership experience than Mr Linton ?

    • September 15, 2013

We have to wonder why the PM is refusing to debate Lennox after all he already said that he is not educated he haven got a degree so I ask you Labourites to question your leaderon that, he didnt want to debate Mr.James because he’s highly trained and educated so to him he should debate Lennox he would be able to wipe him off the floor.
PM just cannot debate Lennox because he as well as other D’icans would come to see that he could stand up on his own against the PM, people now is the time to think of our Island not the PM darkness is over DA for much too long we have to change the landscape now.

If UWP had more people with a bachelor in psychology maybe they would be able to sway support? wht more does a politician need than a bachelor in psychology? no wonder skerrit will reign forever because we consider psychology to be nothing

If Lennox completed high school as you said why can’t he present his CV.

The UWP begged Skerrit to produce his Pass port, on that same principle Lennox must produce his CV.

But off course they had to pass a resolution to reelect the executive of the party. I mean think of this: Does anyone think the DLP really wants to have Ambrose George as Deputy Leader of the party? But the fact is, if anyone had even attempted to challenge Mr. George, it would have been real trouble in the camp although they know very well that Ambrose can NEVER emerge as leader of the party or PM, should something happen to Skerrit. If I am not mistaken, wasn’t Ambrose George Deputy Leader of the party when the late Pierre Charles was Pm? If yes, why was he (Ambrose George) not even made the acting PM after the passing of Pierro? Those blind laborites must seek to get this question answered instead of concentrating on why Claudius Sandford, who has never won his seat, was not made party leader. After all, Ambrose has always won his seat

At least we know about the Red Clinic and how thankfully, the people are helped. But what do we know about where the UWP get their own.

Do you know? We have been told over and over that your new leader has not been employed for many years. Or is that not true? I mean the man has to eat sometime. So if not the Red Clinic, then where?

I can understand why you think so, because your opposition leader, the man the UWP wish could be a Prime Minister – Lennox Linton is a HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUT!! My Dear the Labourites will definitely vote into Government the Hon. Skerrit and his team once more and it is not because they are high school drop outs!

What a joke, can you imagine if Hon. Skerrit had a CV like Lennox – the amount of blows all you would have given him.

well said…can you believe Intelligent Dominicans are supposed to consider a disgrace like Lennox Linton as a possible prime minister. I feel insulted that he is even in this position, and the UWP supporters should as well. Every party deserves a competent leader at the realm, not a sorry excuse like Linton. Give Dominicans a good opposition, they at least deserve that much!!

Are they aware that since labour come in power they are poorer, there are more unemployeed young people, groceries including food plenty more expensive, people cannot pay their light bill and cannot buy medicine and send their children to school. its time to vote labour out, out, out and completely out. These fellas get rich overnight while the rest of Dominicans cannot eat and drinkc. GET THEM OUT FOR A BETTER DOMINICA!

That’s not a delegates conference, its a national convention. Labour deliberately persuaded their followers to come in large numbers as if it was a national convention after they saw the massive support and swing that Linton is attracting. In Sen Joe City, they were asking people to come along to Point Michelle.

Be honest to ourselves . Their have been progress in terms of development in Dominica whether infrastructure wise, socially, Educational and economically. It may be small to see but there is. Our biggest problem which Dominica always face is employment for the massive.

All past government have come and make big speeches about creating jobs, It went in thin air

O people have attitude problems when come to work. Turn up late, poor work and customer service attitudes etc.

Do you mean physical or intellectual, laws etc. thanks in advance

        September 15, 2013

Anonymous where is the great deal of work being done? You mean the 27 million dollar state malice and road infrastructure? Do you know that our main hospital the Princess Margaret Hospital lacks basic medical equipment? Are you aware that unemployment is rampant especially among the youth? Do you go to the supermarkets to purchase commodities? A hundred dollars barely purchases five items. People cannot afford to pay their bills they have to pay it in pieces and most times you get disconnected so you have to pay off the bill plus the re connection fee….I could go on but that would probably take whole day. Whilst we suffer the skerrit led government continues to amass wealth there has to be some sort of balance annonymous henceforth CHANGE MUST COME

peolple living hand to mouth. HIgh cost of living. Our resources not being used to the benefit of all. Have u seen the amount of sand being shipped out of Dominica. Have u heard any revestment of that money in any thing in Dominica. And Layou, St Joseph is now a welfare constituence despite the fact that alot of these resource/sand is in that area. Where is the reinvestment in the community. Not a scholarship, a sponsorship of any thing, like in other countries. Which country were u living in?

        September 15, 2013

Infrastructural development is not all. There are a lot of road, bridges etc projects; however there is no economic growth. You know what the PM reported of the last financial year’s growth in the budget report in June 2013, he reported that we had a growth of -0.1% (negative 0.1%). A negative growth means that our economy shrank and that things did not get any better, it got worse. And all these loans to build bridges and roads and to buy PetroCaribe fuel is not what our country needs. We need more incentives to to the private sector in order to stimulate job creation. There was no need to build a brand new State College if the program up there is not accredited! There are some programs which begin one year and when the students come back to register for their second year, they find out that the program has been discontinued! Is this fair to our students, the future of Dominica? They talk about the ‘Yes we Care’ program, which is good, but what about justice for the elderly couple that were firebombed in their home one Christmas morning?
At the end, we believe that our Dominica and Dominicans need a change. Absolute power corrupts, our leaders have gotten complacent, too comfortable, thinking that the Dominican people will be paying them for another term of non-performance. We need to show them that they should never sleep on the job!

No development as in a large number of the youth are unemployed. No development as in our agricultural sector is in a decline.
