George defends PM Skerrit

George said PM Skerrit is under group attack by the UWP

Member of parliament for Roseau South, Ambrose George, has come to the defense of prime minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, who, according to George, is under group attack by the opposition United Workers Party (UWP).

In a statement to state-owned DBS Radio, George said the prime minister has led Dominica through years of peace and prosperity and the UWP is showing signs of desperation.

“The record shows that prime minister Skerrit has borne true allegiance to the Commonwealth of Dominica and has led our homeland through ten years of peace and prosperity and the unprecedented development of Dominica’s institutions and people,” George stated.

He stated the prime minister was honored by Dominicans who have given him an overwhelming mandate at the polls.

“In recognition of honorable Skerrit’s sterling contribution, the overwhelming majority of the Dominican people have rewarded the political leader of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) with the strongest mandate in the history of independent Dominica: 18 seats out of 21 and 62 percent of the popular vote,” George said.

George, who is also deputy leader of the DLP, said the UWP is attacking the prime minister out of desperation.

“It is therefore a sign desperation when the UWP mounts a group attack on prime minister Skerrit, his government, party and indeed the Dominican people as was done at a recent UWP press conference,” he stated.

He said the attacks are coming from “a party that started its current term in opposition in breach of parliament which it did by staying away from the house of assembly until two of its three seats were declared vacant under the law.”

He also blasted the UWP for “undermining Dominica’s democratic traditions” by electing Lennox Linton, whom he described as outsider and an un-qualifed novice, as its political leader.

This, George said, was done above Hector John who is the leader of the opposition in the House of Assembly.

if skerit finds a way to worm himself into government by unjust means again, well i am keeping a week of mourning for myself and my country. if he doesnt change his entire government around and run the country differently than it is right now, i am leaving the country. and i hope many dominicans find the opportunity to as well.
but for now, i am hopeful that team dominica will plead my cause and turn things around
you know why skeritt doesnt care how much money teachers make? you know why under uwp we had concessions and we dont now? you know why we get appointed after so many years even if we have a degree?

Georgie pour give keep quiet… These politicians on the labour side sounding like some entertainers in the comedy industry. It’s laughing season. Everyday is a another artists. They all coming out to support the comedy association leader. All of them look very funny, tired, n clueless of the reality around them. Mr Sterrett must have paid Tim Tim, Georgie Pourgie, waltz disney, Aunt go glo, n crew to come out at grave yard shift to defend n push the labour agenda. These senior politicians should show respect to Dominicans…
    They should talk about:
Why changing the name of the airport is such a foolish n nonsensical idea. How come Dominicans won’t consulted ? Look now the uniting the dead.. never did the brain tick too think of Rossi n Mao on da same sign,,,,, This is going to cost money just for nonsense,,, Mr George, have you thought of writing that on an immigration form,,,,,
Majority of Dominicans don’t travel therefore they don’t even know what’s up. Lack of information…. Data the biggest piece of insanity in Dominica…..
2, what is there to show that pm saved Dominica? Mr George you all can’t fool Dominicans. Dominica is worst off, only thing you guys may have gotten richer n fatter.
3, what’s up with the renaming of discussion n Dat suddenly? Maybe New town might be renamed Ambi city or red villa instead of charlotteville….
4, what’s going on with the Pm on a one man campaign, it’s like one man show,,,,,,,,,, All indications that all these pal reps have failed. . Dominicans must take the gifts from labour n don’t vote them… Not one single youth should vote for labour, because of zero employment n hardship and poverty ……….
Mr George, this defense is not authentic,,,, because Dominicans don’t really want to hear these tired stories..
minister of Tel he comunication, right now Team Dominica have you all scared n trying trying to communicate……. This is the same pm who said tell dem go …. n not their biz, now suddenly he communicating,,,,,,,,,,,,, pressure have you all eating pepper n talking out of turn,,,
Team Dominica keep doing the right thing, remember Dices song: send me, send me,,,,, YOU ME AN TO TELL ME THAT TEAM DOMINICA GOT LABOUR UNDER PRESSURE SO, Dat is incredibly………….Talk nah talk nah labour cyan talkk,,,,,, Team Dominica on boarder patrol, so labour cyan cross da boarder…

Mr. Ambrose is absolutely correct in defending our Great and most honorable Prime Minister. Our humble, handsome, classy and sophisticated Supreme Leader, Dr. Skerrit has moved Dominica from the dark ages to modernization in only 14 years and continues to make huge strides in the development of our Island. The novice, and his team of misfits has done nothing for Dominica but talk…talk…and talk. Their great thirst for power has lead them to develop eyes of envy and hearts of venomous hatred towards our Christ-Like Leader and appointed King. They spew lies and propaganda left and right in an effort to discredit our great Prime Minister. But…while they continuously seek new ways to bring down the Divine Leader, Dr. Skerrit continues to show ALL Dominicans the might and power of the Labor Party by breaking ground on numerous projects and assisting the less fortunate among us. Hence, all this criticism from the United Wicked People will only push Dominicans to deliver ALL 21 seats to his Honor, Dr. Skerrit come election day. Put that one in your pipe and smoke it Mr. Lennox !

Cold-blooded murders are walking the streets free of consequences after committing their heinous crimes against the innocent. I can’t name one murder who has been prosecuted in recent times or one major crime that has been solved by the police force.
Even the “Keys” to the Registry suddenly vanished recently and no one was held accountable. The Emmanuel case is still unsolved today.
Wood Ants ate away the infrastructure at the Marigot Hospital and rodents chased away our first responders from the Portsmouth Fire Station.
The Princess Margaret Hospital is a complete mess. After giving LIAT a suitcase of money, the service to Dominica is still atrocious. Melville Hall Airport upgrade was yet another fiasco and a lesson in poor planning and lies to masses.
So just what are you talking about Ambrose? Please, please enlighten the ones who are not gullible heard followers.

I use to admire when Ambrose George use to speak; he use to utter such words of meaning; words that made a meaningful contribution; statements that made sense; he could relate to the ordinary man on the streets; BUT NOW OMG its like he has become so bitter; he has been consumed in so much political mess that when he opens his mouth lowers his standards even more; AMBROSE SEEK ADVICE BEFORE YOU BECOME A VOICE; the UWP has expressed their concerns if you want to respond based on the position you hold, think before you read, because even if i thought for one minute that UWP concerns are without warrant; your comments are Fruitless

Today I felt the D/can I felt like yrs ago or better said I have not felt like a D/can growing up in the late 70’s until today.
    Why you ask?
I’ll tell you: Ray Lawrence read the 1:15 P.M news. I was elated. I felt the 70’s all over again when we had educated people reading news on DBS. Papa Dee, Frampton, Barnett Defore , Jeff Charles Ray Lawrence, Lalay Coco Andre amongst the few good ones who have blessed our air waves.
It was a breath of fresh air.
It was sad to hear just after Lawrence was through with the news that guy came with the sports new. From there it went down hill to Stephen Dangleben. While addresses were being placed in between the actual stories it was heart breaking to hear the pronounciation intonation of Karen Prevost, Clayton Joseph, Marcella Powell, Vida George etc.
This where the line was drawn Old school vs New school. A far cry. Are today’s generation better than our ? Hell no! not by a long shot.
Look at our P.M vs the President (despite his flaws) lol
I often wonder .Thanks Ray for coming to demonstrate to the youth and not so young how this is done. Mrs Green-Browne look like I left you out sorry not my intension.

Curtis Mathew oh boy ! why don’t they put this guy behind a desk instead of behind a microphone?
      Raymond’s reading was so smoothing?
Why DBS ,Why? This is sickening. Does he have breathing problems, heart failure, Asthma or something?
Hide this guy man! for christ sake! God blind me man the Bajans would say. I say God death me man! I have to go see Dr .Pascal sooner than I expected. Oh my poor eardrums!

“The record shows that prime minister Skerrit has borne true allegiance to the Commonwealth of Dominica and has led our homeland through ten years of peace and prosperity and the unprecedented development of Dominica’s institutions and people.” Ambrose, I am lost here and need you to clearify a few things here:

1.What do u mean by Skerrit has become a true allegiance to the Commonwealth of Dominica? Has become? Since when? Are u suggesting that at one time he was not true? Are you referring to the French citizenship he applied for and obtained in 2003 and then denounced in 2010?

    2. Which homeland are you referring to that Skerrit has led through 10 yrs of peace and prosperity? Not Dominica, right? The evidence is there to show the opposite sir. During the last 10 yrs, Never in the history of Dominica have we known and seen so many crimes on the streets of Dominica. We are talking about grievous crimes like murder, theft, Fire Bombing of GON Emmanuels house, at a time when we were celebrating Christmas of 2010.
    3. In our brief history as a nation, apart from the war and overthrow of the then PJ labor party by someone who is now president of Dominica, we had been relatively peaceful until Skerrit came on the scene.
    4. How could it be 10 yrs of peace and prosperity when the reality on the ground suggest the worse? I mean, never in our history has so much poverty prevailed. Never has our government ministers scared of expressing their concerns. Ask Ian if I lying. Ambrose, you need to go and say 12 Hail Mary’s for such huge lie.

Mr. Skerrit true alligence is to China and Venezuela, not Dominica. How many of you build roads, hotels, abbatoir, state if the art agri center, airport, stadium, bridge with lion, state house? How many of you worked had to build your country, or was given a chance to design these structures? How many of you were capable enough to advise the PM? Lastly, how many of you ministers can work independently without being told what to do?
Peace and prosperity for the ministers. They asking for more security and getting fat paychecks

I have yet to hear the PM condemn the killings in Portsmouth, but he is calling on Europe and America to carry news on murder in Venezuela. Why did he not do the same for China. In life the end results never justify the means. We were once a proud people who revel in our hard work. Today we are proud to be beggars, we a proud to be on welfare, we are proud to be called cockroaches, we are proud to be disrespected, and we are proud to here we are not capable of doing anything for ourselves.
We sell our souls and morals for 30 pieces of Silva and raise a self fulfilling, insecure individual on a pedestal for gifts, grants, and loans.

Mr.Ambrose, Mr.Ambrose, why do you have to do that. You out of all people, you embarassed Dominica a few years ago and her you are embarassing yourself. Ok. I will be honest. The DLP did things in Dominica we all have been waiting on for a long time, the road to the airport and Portsmouth, that was major, the stadium, that was good the goodwill road from the stadium. But tell me please sir, how did that impact the average Dominica life, we did not profit from those things and we’re not even talking about the useless white house where all the money went straight back to China. All these things made alot of Dominicans open their eyes. Good project but it did not help the average Dominicans. The rich people in the party became much more wealthy, the middle class became poor and the poor voters, those who put you there were forced to become beggers. Tell us please sir where is the prosperity. Have you spoken to the everyday man on the street? Stop making people believe all is nice and Dandy in Dominica. You know it is not so. A few years ago the PM said that thing were so good in Dominica that Domincans are now sending money to the people in the USA, honestly sir, I am still not sure who he was referring about. Mr.Ambrose please talk a walk to the financial center on a Wednesday at tell us what you see. Tell us if it a sign of prosperity or vice versa.

Ambrose, Ambrose, have you been out of Dominica since September 2013. The DLP created history in Dominica and possibly the world, at a political meeting, when Ministers of Government including the Prime Minister mentioned the name of one man, Lennox Linton, approximately 2000 times in three hours and fifty six minutes. I would like the DLP supporters can tell us at least one show since September 2013, the name Lennox Linton was not mentioned on the Animal show. I would like Ambrose or Aaron to give us of a date since September 2013, he, Aaron, had failed to mention the name Lennox Linton in his commentaries in the Chronicle. Because of the obsession with Mr. Linton, they have skyrocketed his popularity as far as Mars. I heard of a very funny joke. I understood, a Minister of Government was in a very undeviating
position and at a particular time he shouted the name Linton. The next day his wife said to him that the next time a situation like that occurs, he will have to find himself another bedroom.

You guys have so many skeletons in your closets that it is difficult for anyone who has been paying attention for the past 10 years to take any of your charges/claim seriously.

Tell the PM to publicize the MOU with China, take part in a debate to hit LL hard with his facts and figures on his reign of “peace and prosperity”, and free the electoral commission to ensure we have a free and fair election. Until you can meet these three criteria, you and the DLP will continue to be perceived for the hoax that you are!

Whom are you talking about please?

  29. Francisco Telemaque
    October 22, 2014

Ambrose, every bit of this crap you have spoken concerning desperation pertains to you Skerrit, and the Labor Party. First of all it seems to me you do not know the meaning of the word allegiance: allegiance to Skerrit, and you entails; you, and Skerrit obligations to your masters the Chines; perhaps I should not remind you that Skerrit boasted that he and his government are the only government in the Caribbean to honor the “one China policy.” What that means, is you and the Labor Party, and Skerrit has subjected Dominicans as an alien to the government of China while we resides in our country. Skerrit’s devotion or loyalty is to China, and not Dominica.

That is what the allegiance you are talking about means!

You speak about peace, prosperity, and unprecedented development; man are you mad? you talk about ten years of crap, Dominica has always been a peaceful place until recently we see an escalation of crime in the country, and all of that is happening within Skerrit’s tenure; never before we found people robbing nationals, and visitors to our country in broad daylight , never before we see people gunned down in the streets of Dominica until Skerrit, arrival as Prime Minister. The man proved to be the most controversial Prime Minister in our nations history! No Chief Minister, or any member who served in the legislative council prior to independence has done as much harm as Skerrit has done to Dominica.

You are talking about development, the fact that so many of us Dominicans has fled Dominica to seek a source of survival is an indication to you how much your boy Skerrit and you have screwed up the country, can you figure out why there are almost thirty thousand Dominicans residing on the island of Antigua? Ambrose/Skerrit, it is because of the lack of development, the lack of opportunities, and progress in Dominica why these people immigrated to little places such as Antigua, and the rest of the Caribbean. Yes, I appreciate the State House, we needed that, but all of the resurfacing of roads, that is mandatory, and has been going on long before Skerrit was born that is not progress, nor prosperity. The sports stadium is not prosperity either, the red clinic is a bondage to our people, it is a symbol of Skerrit’s incompetence, it is a symbol of poverty, and shame, the man has plunged the country in a state of poverty which has caused damages such as hospitals, and schools to become so dilapidated standing there serving no purpose, that Ambrose is as of the result of the mandate Skerrit got from the people.

Finally, if the people had given Skerrit a mandate to run the affairs of the country, he screwed it up, he wasted fifteen years, everything the man hand touch turned to ashes, that is why our country remains, the poorest and most backward place in the Caribbean, and perhaps the world, hence the time has come fore the nation to vote against him; the desperation belongs to you and Skerrit, and the rest of the labor party clowns!

Ambrose, u above all else blasting the UWP for “undermining Dominica’s democratic traditions” by electing Lennox Linton as leader? Ambrose, when Pierre Charles died you were the deputy leader of the DLP while Skerrit was a no name little boy who almost did not get a ministerial position under Rosie. When Piero died, it was Skerrit that was crowned PM while you were kicked out! It was you, Skerrit and the DLP that undermined our democracy when you were brought back into the parliament.

Ambrose, don’t try to be the accuser, the police, the lawyer, the judge and the jury at the same time. It is not good to say the PM is under group attack from the UWP and not one of the attacks was named by you. We need you to tell us what the attacks are and based on evidence we will see if it is true or false. For example, tell us if you are referring to those villas; tell us if you are referring our Dominican students in Trini that cannot graduate except one special lady; Tell us why she graduated and what gift she got from Skerrit or if she had to give a gift to him in return. Please call things by name and give us evidence that they are false.

How much skerrit paid you George? Seeing everybody knows DA is a welfare state and your PM pays all laborites to stand by his side and defend him.How many pieces of silver you received?

If Dominica has even through Peace and Great pprosperity according to Ambrose then I think it is time that DOMINICAN start praying because they have reached the pinnacle as a people. It is now an uphill struggle for alol Dominicans.

This is a rather daming admission by the deputy pm. If I were you I would be shutting my mouth sir. Ifabien this is what you call a prosperous nation then you have clearly set your aspirations for this country beneath your feet.

Do you guys actually listen to yourselves when you speak?

Surely you mean that we have reached our nadir rather than the pinnacle.

This a bit rich coming from the deputy leader of a labour party , which dedicated an entire rally in Lagon on 11 Sept. to lambasting the leader of the opposition Lennox Linton. That message was particularly driven by a vindictive Roosevelt Skerrit.
Now Ambrose George jumps to the defence of that same Roosevelt Skerrit. Doesn’t he have the balls to speak up for himself? Of course Ambrose George has a lot to be grateful for, having been sacked twice and lastly reinstated by his pal Skerrit.
I honestly ask now, who is scared of whom? That is a fair question. Roosevelt if you dish it out you must be prepared to take it and not hide behind Ambrose. I expect such behavior from a playground bully but not you.

Wat is dat that I just read Ambrose say dere. I have to be dreaming…….(how else can one explain the utter nonsense and madness Ambrose has spoken)…

Can someone tell me if Ambrose call the meeting to ask Skerrit to answer to the questions of plagiarism raised against him? After all, Ambrose did say in real life that if his leader was ever caught up in such an allegation, he would call his party together to discuss the future of that leader.

Glad you reminded us of Ambrose’s declaration to call a meeting to discuss the future leadership of their plagiarising leader. NOW I understand why he is crawling to make amends.

Remember when Ian was caught bad-talking their leader on video? He had to make amends by singing the DLP’s rallying song at a public meeting. Skerrit has Ambrose doing the same thing.
