IN PHOTOS: DLP supporters converge outside court building

Dominica Labour Party supporters gathered outside the High Court building on the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard earlier this morning as the court matter between the Government and the opposition United Workers Party took place.

Majority of Government parliamentarians were also present inside the court room to hear the matter presided over by Justice Birnie Stephenson-Brooks. However, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Legal Affairs Minister Ian Douglas were absent for the matter.

Attorney General Francine Baron-Royer and Senior Counsel Anthony Astaphan defended the Government’s case.[nggallery id=8]

To all the people who are calling the people who choose to go to the courts this morning idiots and need employment it is very sad that you would look at people who worked all their lives and people who are enterpreniers in Dominica and tell them to go get jobs because they choose to use their democratic rights of a peaceful demonstration, all dominicans has that right and i can’t recall any one saying the uwp supporters should go find work to do, shame on you, Independent and together we must my A%, you are what people did not vote the united workers party at the last elections because you will not let the people of our country have any rights, you judge people and you degrade people, wake up and learn that their will always have labourites who will go out and workers supporters as well who will go out on the picket lines and we should not call them names because they are supporting thier party, red, blue or green. thats their democratic rights

    Wait a minute.

I didn’t hear people complaining of demonstrators having no job when the UWP had their sorry demonstration during the CARICOM meeting. The people have a democratic right to do what they are doing just as the UWP supporters have the same right.

education is very important. the actions of the dlp supporters by the court is an act in contempt of the court……which is illegal….

when will these people educate themselves before jumping and say this one do this…and that one do that too?

Labourites are all ignorant people. If u look @ d faces of those that were protesting education is nowhere close to being on their mind. If they were thinking about education they wudnt use their school children markers, crayons & paper to make placards to support skerro, den the next week dey going behind him for money to send their children skool… …

Don’t those people have daily jobs they should have been doing instead of wasting time protesting while the court case was going on? These labour party supporters must be joking using their children paper, markers & crayons for their school work and use it to go and make posters to support a fake leader … These must be some uneducated fools wasting their time to do dat when they could have been making money.

They dere protesting when they don’t even kno where the next bread coming from to put food on the table for their children. All they want to do is live on handouts &; beg in red clinic day after day, these kinds of things will not bring development but only make the country worst… Imagine a country where most people are dependent on the government, Complete Chaos!!!

“why people hating our leader so nuh? why? why? why? I get a house from him and anytime I need a lil change I going red clinic, ” said a labourite. She is unemployed & dependent on the red clinic to get by, hearing dis lady talk about the leader like he is some god just pissed me off!!! We all need to Rise Up &Wise UP

Election was time to fatten all labour pigs to slaughter dem after doe fraid. If that is taken it to the next level I will be buying my plane ticket very soon…

    • Politicians Lie
      March 18, 2010

All these politicians are a bunch of decietful people. The group who is skilled at deceit will come out on top. Politics is a dangerous game and the players will do almost anything to maintain power. They will destroy families, individuals, business, communities and the nation for the sake of been in control. I have lost all respect for the so called person putting forward themselves to represent us.
Its a good thing that Dominica have a praying group of people to help keep our heads above water.

They will con you into believing that they have your best interest at heart but they are playing on your genuine concern for people. If you’re not a cold hearted individual stay away from politics.

Skerrit is no better than Ron and would do whatever he has to do to stay in Power. So don’t go fooling yourselves that he is all good. … Don’t be fooled, I just pray that one of these days people will see him for what he is …. He plays the game extremely well.
