Newly elected President of the United Workers Party (UWP) Senator Isaac Baptiste has pledged to uphold the rules and principles of the party, which are honesty, accountability and transparency.
Isaac replaced Ronald Charles who did not seek re-election at the party’s 38 delegate’s convention in Grand Fond over the weekend.
He pledged to also uphold the constitution of the party and “to promote the values of the United Workers Party (UWP) which are so dear to us.”
“These are honesty, accountability, transparency and fairness for the betterment of good governance in Dominica,” he said.
He warned cheering party faithful that they “cannot afford to be complacent because Dominica will never forgive us if we do not do everything in the next few years to ensure that the suffering of the people does not continue.”
“Therefore, from henceforth, we must intensify and solidify all efforts towards the road to winning the next general elections. We must continue to demand a level playing field by the Electoral Commission towards Electoral Reform. We have to also focus our work on the ground, it is an established fact that elections are not won in the air but on the ground. Therefore, we must increase and out more boots on the ground to ensure that we win the next general elections,” Baptiste said.
According to Senator Baptiste, the time is now for party faithful to rise up to their responsibilities.
He called also on members of parliament and caretakers of Team UWP Dominica rise up to their responsibilities.
“Ensure you are current with the aspect of membership dues. Consult regularly with your constituency leaders to offer whatever assistance necessary, defend our political leader all the time,” he stated.
He added, “In our drive to winning the next general elections we must be caring for all citizens regardless of their political positions, we are all Dominican and children of the same living God. We must adopt the principle of respect for all as we gear to winning all hearts. Therefore, I ask you, Workers, to keep your eyes on the prize in making Dominica the best place to live work and enjoy life but we can only do that if we revolve to work hard remain focus and bring more to our fold.”
Alas if Issac take this position and no Young person took no executive position in this party it says ma pampo is on her way back to recovery

Upholding Principles in being an Inept Party…..lol They are a bunch of Jokers.
I was 22 yrs old when David and Frederick destroyed Dominica. Although the majority of roofs and buildings we’re gone, yet we were not living in fair. We we’re not afraid of another rain storm or hurricane season because we had a government that put our country first and inspired all of us. In fact the following year the hurricane season came and gone and we didn’t even take note. Today we are AFRAID under Skerrit. One more month antil next hurricane season and we are so afraid. Dominica is in a mess and people have no hope. That corrupt government keeps getting worse and worse. Erika touched us in 2015 and not one of the bridges were built back! Villages were destroyed, I mean every single thing the man did was destroyed and that’s been the case year after year. His works are evil; its an evil regime that must be removed if we want to see Dominica come back again. As long as Skerrit is in office with his evil president and government Dominica will go nowhere!

There was a time in Dominica when I was very afraid for my country and the direction which these guys in Gov’t were taking it.
Now I fear no more! With the commission of those members in UWP I feel reassured that Dominica will progress in the near future with Lennox Linton and the rest of Team Dominica as the new Government.
This is the best Team of men and women that we have seen in Dominica for the passed 18 years. I wish them the best and trust that they will put country before self.
At long last I am feeling that we in Dominica will once again be proud to call ourselves Dominicans anywhere we go after UWP wins the next election.
I am even tired of that party thing. I think the time has come to dismantle that party thing and all of us unite under one umbrella, with no leader, no president, no secretary, no treasurer and no membership fees and just decide we going to set Dominica free and will take care of party after we have set Dominica free.
