Randy Rodney prayed for 24 hours against Savarin as President. God is in control. Savarin is now the President of Dominica. I Hope Pastor Rodney acknowledges God’s will and offers the new President his respect.

Not strange to hear Evangelist Peter R Augustin is down to do joint prayer with Father Eustace Thomas. Prior to the Skerrit era, those two could agree on nothing but thanks to skerrit for making them one. I wonder who had to adjust their beliefs in order to serve Skerrit together? No wonder Peter was not a factor in the last crusade the evangelical churches had in July. The evangelist better remember pastor BJ, who was and still is one of Skerrits worshipers, who would bless unrighteousness of Skerrit and be part of it

I wonder if Roosevelt Skerrit chose to have Charles savarin installed as president during the time most Dominicans are remembering the death of late Pm Rosie Douglas, simply to send a message to the Douglas family and the DLP? I know his first name “Roosevelt” was also the first name of the late PM but I am now questioning the ‘Douglas’ part of it to see if there is any just reason for Roosevelt Skerrit to initially planned to instal Charles Savarin, a well known political enemy of anything that goes by the last name “Douglas” and DLP, on the date Rosie died and remembered? Boy DLP, Douglas and Portmouth people becareful because Skerrit is out to get you all. Could this be the reason why he also wants to kick out Granvillia residents out? Remember, Granvillia was Douglas stronghold.

They say that blood is thicke than water; but when one holds the office of attorney general, magistrate or judge they must not twist the law and make wrong right and put things upside down and back to front. No wonder easydoor and the am are not in jail. What a country,
Boycott is a must. Dominica aches. Enough is a enough. The joke has gone beyond.

Our justice system is to be blamed for our current constitutional crisis. The Courts allowed delay and injustice to undermine the fair and prompt resolution of the dual citizenship matter, so Skerrit was exonerated.

The Court has allowed Alix Boyd-Kinght to mismanaged the House of Assembly and disrespect the opposition for years.

The Court has placed indefinite temporary injunctions against the UWP’s nominee on the IPO, effectively undermining the functioning of the now defunct IPO.

The Court has failed to hear and rule on the UWP’s cases against the unconstitutional election of Mr. Williams in a prompt manner.

The Court will not hear matters up for judicial review to allow corrupt lawyers to be prosecuted.

The Court will not listen and respect the people and their constitution. The court has failed in its role as the guardian of our institution.

Justice delayed is justice denied in this case. Unfair justice or injustice has undermined he rule of law in Dominica, compliments our justice system.

Today the heavens will weep for Dominica. A monstrous absurdity is being imposed upon us. An unholy alliance of megalomaniacs in charge of the people’s destiny. One wonders how long two roosters can exist harmoniously in the same coop? Did Roosevelt Skerrit unwittingly bring in the Trojan horse? Charles Savarin may be older than Roosevelt Skerrit but there are few people who wouldl disagree that he is also more wily.

Roosevelt do not know what Charles did in his past position(s), or he chose to ignore them. People say “they are changed”. Sometimes that is true, more seldom than often, however, I think that Charles was lying in wait for the right moment to continue what he started. HERE IT IS PEOPLE, the right moment has arrived.

Blame Patrick John for the no candles and the stones. You forget why the strike took place, it seems. Inform yourself first. Frankly, Charlo deserves a medal for his leadership during that period in our history.

      Educate yourself of the facts!

      • Roy Williams
        October 2, 2013

The writer who writes as BogoRoy is the one that needs the political education. I will admit, like other leaders, Patrick made mistakes. Particularly, I believe he was not always given the best advice. However, whereas the ordinary Dominican loved him, their was a concerted effort by a certain party to bring him down. As far as the big boys from Roseau were concerned, Patrick was not suppose to be the one to replace Mr. Leblanc, it was suppose to be a prominent lawyer with a bouguoise name. The Constitution that is playing an important part of our lives today, was the beginning of Patrick’s downfall. We cannot forget the major demonstration he met on his return from England and their after, the talk was to remove him at all cost. The rest is history.

I heard the PM this morning on DBS Radio seating right next to the AG admitting that he is using his office to fetter his own nest. Can you imagine the PM is asking what should he tell a mother with cancer who comes to him for help? or children who come to him for schools books? or families who want galvanize to repair their house? Can you imagine that – first question is what interest would a Prime Minister have in encouraging people to come to him directly for such assistance? And I heard a lot of reference to what OBAMA and Nelson Mandela and British Prime Minister was and is. Mr Levi Peters Sir, could the PM of Britian or the President of the US ever do or say what Mr. Skerrit said this morning and in front of the attorney general and still be in office today – the answer is no. Why Sir! because he would have been found out as undermining the social services provided for by the public service and further he would be found wanting in that he would be using his office to corrupt the electorate. He would have been impitched long long time. You as a trained man in England know that yet you are in bed with such blantant corrupt practices; what a shame!!

Let me inform you. The Dominica Law may be different from Canadian Law and regulations. Sometime ago the Canadian PM appointed a Governor. The people had nothing to do with it. As Head/Leader of this country, he is the one who appoints the Governor. Obviously, the one chosen must be suitable for the position.
The Dominican PM nominates a President and all of you get on DNO and no doubt on the newspapers and radio and beat up yourself against it making all sorts of derogatory comments. I am not impressed and so do some others in D/ca and overseas.
The people only elect a Government. They should not elect a President and should have no say in this nomination and election. This should be the sole responsibility of the PM.
It may be high time to change this D/can Law, that the opposition should not have a say in choosing the President. This contributes to a mess, confusion, ill-feeling, discord, unpleasantness and lack of peace to mention a few.
Imagine the Opposition calling for a protest as if the nominee is not suitable for the position. I refer to this as lowly and cantankerous mannerisms.
The people must know their place and where they belong that they cannot put their mouths in everything the government does and says. There is too much of this especially in addition to bad wishes on this Website which are ungodly practices. Time for a change. This is when I approve change must come and take effect.

They committed a grave error. They lack respect. It is also bad manners.

There is a word in the second paragraph that is incorrectly spelt. I am certain this may not be of your doing. I have the identical problem which I addressed to DNO that these types of error only occur on this Website that, it appears someone is tampering with the spelling of words while typing on this Website and making them incorrectly spelt. I hope their system is not programmed in this manner. If the error is noticed it will be posted as is and portrayed wrong spelling. I have noted this has been occurring for sometime and frequently. I hope it is not occurring to those who have projected to be DLP supporters.
I have asked DNO to look into it and to repair its system. It is annoying and disappointing to spell a word correctly and then it quickly changes before the eyes. Obviously, something is wrong with their system. I will be looking into it.

In case he refuses to answer, ask anyone from Viellecase and they will tell you that his household played a leading role in killing the DLP? 2.Does he remember the person that brought him over to the DLP?
    3. If yes, then does he remember that today was Rosie’s death anniversary? 4.Then why did he plan ahead of time to ensure that Charles Savarin, an enemy of the DLP and what Rosie stood for was to take his presidential oath today? Was it a plan to erase the very thoughts of Rosie out of the minds of the people? Furthermore, please ask him if Rosie died as his friend or if the constant pressure he put on Rosie contributed to his short lived PM?

Possie: You all are getting just what you deserve. For too long you all have been puppets to a system polarized and victimized by politics. Rossie was a champion of the people and he socialized with the leaders who were mostly scorned in the eyes of the world in general, but he had a plan, his plan for the most part is still being followed by the PM. The current representative was not interested in politics or representing Possie; it was too much for him. He could not be like his Father or his uncle who were already established men and give every dog and cat who ask him for $10.00 or salt-fish money. He had a young family. You all were the same people speaking ill about him in his rough times. Now that the course of history is changing, no back and neck no vote, no brogodow no vote, now no land no vote!!! Come-on people look within yourselves and see that you too are responsible for your development and for the advancement of the community. All the talk which is about now, should have happened long ago. Meetings with the Pal rep on ideas, projects, needs of the community should have been taking place and he in turn taking it to Parliament. It is too little too late. So now that your friend eh give you some of his ice pop, you vex with him. Do you see how childish that sound?

Savarin has rendered service to Dominica and I believe he will be a good representative of the office of the President. Let us not get stuck in the past and condemn him for his past. Unite and come together in the interest of Dominica. When I see young people talk about Savarin calling Possie people “Black Carib” and now he is president…Is that a joke?

This is yet another failed plan of Skerrit and DLP supporters should be ashamed. Some of us will remember that today is the death anniversary of the late PM Rosie Douglas, the man who picked former Freedomite Roosevelt Skerrit from no where and and gave him a free ticket on the DLP.
To ensure that Rosie is not remembered today or this week, Skerrit planned lontime ago to ensure that Rosie and DLP would be out of the minds of Dominicans so his original plan was to have Savarin- a former enemy and destroyer of the DLP, sworn in as president in the face of Labourites today. Not only that, but Skerrit thought it was going to be a repeat of 1979 to show labourites that the same person that kicked them out and kept them out for 21 yrs, would be sworn in in like manner on the death anniversary of the man responsible for putting DLP back in power. According to Fellow labourite, Peter K on Q95 today, Skerrit has really used this occasion to make a mockery of Labourites.

For every decision? this is as ridiculous as saying ‘he without sin, cast the first stone’. Not a good justification!

Obviously not for every decision that they have to take – but for the position of President – especially when so many are against their choice – the voice of the people should matter!

By the way – statisticians use different method of gathering information, e.g – questionnaires.. polls – this can all be collected and finalised within the stipulated ’90 days’ and what a brilliant idea – this could actually employ a few people and maybe the government should consider setting up a similar, smaller unit within the existing system to carry out regular research on the public interest.

My friend your suggestion is what happens in a true democracy. The MPs, Congressmen, Represeantatives etc. need to take the views of his constituents when voting on important issues.

Sadly this is not the case with us. We only have democracy once every five years. There is no democracy between elections!!

The one who controls the majority in Parliament basically does as he or she pleases. This system of govenment gives the Prime Minister alot of powers.

So essentially, if you end up with an unscrupulous and callous Prime Minister, what you will get is really an elected dictatorship.

      • October 2, 2013
